Michael Schultheis Venn Sculptures
Winston Wächter Fine Art Seattle
"Venn Sculptures are three dimensional renderings of my brushstrokes found in my paintings. Cast in bronze, these sculptures form the structural framework for personal stories of how I connect with people in my life. The Venn Diagrams derived among the layers of imagery in my paintings are a way of mapping the relationships between two people. Now, the viewer can see geometric forms conceptually from the equations, in Two-Dimensions on the paintings, and in ThreeDimensions from the sculptures. By peering through the interstices of the sculptures, it is possible to look back into the paintings and see the conceptual. - Michael Schultheis
