Specially for you! I may never meet you personally, but there is something I want to tell you. It is of such importance that I would be unkind if I didn’t let you know: yet it is so simple that you can read it in a few minutes. It is so vital that it may change your entire future: yet it is available to you at no cost whatever. It is a message that you may not like: yet you will never be able to forget it. And whether you believe it or not, it will affect you in life and in death. First of all let me emphasise that this message is absolutely true, because it is God who said it. When God makes a statement you can afford to accept it, because He cannot lie. When God makes a promise, you can rest upon it, because His promises can never fail. God will not make you believe this message – that is your choice – but He will hold you responsible for having heard it. Then let me tell you that this is a personal message to you. You cannot escape it. It brings you to the place of decision. You must either accept it or reject it. You must either say “I will” or “I will not”. You cannot be neutral. Here, then, is the message. It is an exact quotation from God’s Word, the Holy Bible:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John3:16) Now, did you ever hear such wonderful words as these before? Are they not amazing? Just think for a moment what they say! They reveal three marvellous and thrilling facts.
First, “GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD!” since you are in the world, it means that He loved you. If that does not startle you, remember that when God loved you, He loved a sinner, because that is what you are. The bible says that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23), and if you are honest you will agree. Now, although God loves you. He hates your sin. Sins will keep you out of Heaven, because God is holy and He must punish sin. Thus a holy God must find a holy way of saving sinners. Otherwise the sinner must pay for his sins, and that would mean spending eternity in Hell. The second great fact is this: “HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON”. The first statement tells you that God loved you. This statement tells you how much He loved you. He loved you so much He gave His only begotten Son! Do you know what that means? It means that the Lord Jesus Christ suffered on the cross of Calvary so that you might be saved. He shed His blood so that your sins might be put away. He died for you so that you might live in Heaven forever. You see – someone must pay the penalty for sin, either you or a sinless substitute. God gave His Son so that He could be your sinless substitute. And now for the third tremendous fact: “WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE”. What could be more wonderful? Think of it! God gives eternal life to those who believe in Christ. The Saviour has finished the work. He has died, has risen from the grave and gone back into Heaven. Now your part is to believe in Him. This simply means that you should confess that you are a sinner, realise that Christ is willing and able to meet your need, and then receive Him as your Lord and Saviour. This is the message which I had to tell you. Now you must make a decision. Will you accept Him or reject Him? Will you believe on Him or will you refuse Him? Will you bow humbly before Him or will you turn away in pride? I may never meet you upon earth, but I hope I will meet you in Heaven. If you too will accept the sinner’s Saviour, then you will be surely saved. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into His hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:35,36)

Plans for the future? How would you reply to someone who asked you “What is the most common question people ask?” I expect the answer you give may well differ according to the age you are, but amongst the answers might be: “What’s for tea?”; “Are we nearly there yet?”; and, in the Highlands, “Is it going to rain today?” Sooner or later a reference to the future will feature too. It might take different forms. For example: “What is going to happen today?” or “Who will I settle down with for the rest of my life?” or, “How will we get on in that exam?”; or, “What will the hospital test result be?” Wanting to know what is around the next corner in life is a very basic and human desire. For some the desire to know the future becomes all consuming, perhaps even to the point of becoming a worry, or even a source of stress. But which of us knows the future? Which of us is like Dr Who, with the ability to travel in time? What would your reaction be if I were to tell you that there is someone who

knows the future? Indeed, what would you say if I suggested there is someone who knows your future? Several thousand years ago, through a man called Jeremiah, God told His people, that He knew their future. The Bible puts it this way: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord Jeremiah 29.11 It is my experience as a Christian that these words are still true today, even in the 21st century. They are not just confined to the past. Today God has a plan for my life, and He has a plan for yours too. But what kind of plans? The quote from Jeremiah tells us that that they are “…plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” A few months ago in April a children’s choir from Uganda performed in Inverness and Strathpeffer (see www.watoto.com). All the children in the choir are orphaned because of HIV or Aids. I was struck by something the smallest performer, Sylvia aged 7, said. She recounted that although she and all the others in the choir had had their parents taken

away she was praising God. Yes praising Him, not blaming Him, or questioning Him. She was praising Him because He had a plan for her. She did not yet know what it was, but based on what she had experienced in her life so far, she knew God was with her, and He will be with her whatever the future holds. What faith! And what a God! It is not just for children in Uganda that God has a plan for. He has a plan today for me and for you too. How do we find out what it is? Jeremiah again tells us: “…Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” So what is stopping you from stepping in the future with God? Will you seek Him, with all your heart? All you need to do is ask Him, speak to Him. He will listen, and you will find Him. R. Murray McCheyne, Secretary St Columba Church of Scotland New Charge, Inverness

For this issue i'm going to tell u a little bit about the latest trends for your hair from the spring /summer collections recently shown at London Fashion Week and embraced by celebrities and fashion models alike. This spring/summer forget uninspiring highlights and opt for a new dramatic look of bold colours full off personality. Block dark brown hair is a winner with those with olive skin looking for a daring new look and I would suggest going 2 shades darker than your natural colour to add shine to your hair. Those with bold statement bobs can be suited to one colour and this will add texture to your style. If you are feeling extra daring, go for a full sharp fringe, but don't worry it can always be softened! Platinum blonde is another big look this summer, however always be careful as over processing of this can affect your hair. This hair colour is also great for short

We hope that you enjoy the feature and find it useful! Month 3 of our cleaning hints and tips page and this month I thought I would share a tip with you that came from someone just picking up the phone and looking for a bit of advice. Remember advice is FREE so if you have a stubborn little problem feel free to give us a quick call. This month I would like to share with you a tip on the removal of stickers from windows, doors, walls etc. Often it can seem like the glue that is used is impossible to remove. As a rule rather than peeling stickers straight off it is often better to try and soften the sticker itself rather
than having to hack away at the glue that's left. The easiest way to soften the sticker is by using a hot steam iron. Holding the iron about 1-2 cm from the sticker spray liberally with steam this will softened the paper and the glue. Once softened take a paint scraper and carefully scrape the corner loose. This should allow the sticker to peel more easily. If not repeat until softer and easier to peel. Some more stubborn and sticky glue may require careful removal with a paint scraper. Finally using a vinegar based window cleaner remove any excess glue and dry surface thoroughly. For stain removal tips why not visit our new website at www.can-doservices.co.uk and remember advice is FREE so give us a call!
