THREE 3,300 KVA DIESEL GENERATORS FOR HAMAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, DOHA, QATAR

NASSER BIN KHALED HEAVY EQUIPMENT W.L.L. of Abu Hamour, Qatar, was responsible for installing and specifying three DS 3300 - 3300 kVA customised gensets units onsite and powering them up for use at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.

Home to Qatar Airways since 2014, the airport is named after the previous Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Hamad International Airport became the first Middle Eastern airport to be awarded the Skytrax’s World Best Airport for 2021 in the 2021 World Airport Awards, ending the 7-year dominance of Singapore’s Changi Airport.

Qatar’s Hamad International Airport has now been named the World’s Best Airport for the second year running.

The mtu Series 4000 diesel generator sets from Rolls-Royce have been employed worldwide for diverse applications - data centres, hospitals, airports, industrial plants, residential buildings, public facilities, decentralised power stations, microgrids and hybrid solutions.

- Accepts rated load in one step per NFPA 110

- Generator set complies to G3 according to ISO 8528-5

- Generator set exceeds load steps according to ISO 8528. The genset offers low fuel consumption, optimised system integration ability, high reliability, high availability of power and long maintenance intervals and provide the highest power density with industry-leading load factors. The gensets feature extremely fast ramp up, best load acceptance and transient behaviour with minimal frequency and voltage deviations.

The manufacturer reports tht the gensets offer high performance even under hot ambient conditions and in high altitude environments.
