TEN GENERATORS NOW PROVIDE BACKUP POWER AT TWO DATA CENTRES IN MOSCOW

Zeppelin Power Systems Russland has supplied two 3512B diesel generators and a further eight 3516B-HD generators to IXcellerate, one of the fastest growing co-location data centre operators in Russia. IXcellerate selected dealer Zeppelin Power Systems Russland to support the company’s rapid growth by increasing the power capacity of its data center campus in Moscow. Zeppelin recently installed and commissioned eight 3516B-HD and two 3512B diesel generator sets for the expansion of IXcellerate’s Moscow One and Moscow Two data centres, which have received the Uptime

Institute’s Tier III certification for design requirements. To date, Zeppelin has delivered a total of 21.4 MW of standby power supplied by 16 diesel generator sets, including four 3412 units installed and commissioned in the first stage of cooperation. The company will provide ongoing maintenance and service to help deliver optimum performance and value over the lifetime of the installation. “The ecosystem of IXcellerate data centers, uniting cloud, network and IT infrastructures, is built and developed to satisfy the needs for storing and processing large volumes of data,” said Konstantin Borman, managing director of IXcellerate. “Zeppelin has delivered a robust standby power solution with built-in flexibility to grow our business, and we will rely on their expertise as we continue to expand and upgrade our infrastructure.” IXcellerate’s year-over-year revenues increased by nearly 30% in 2019, and the company’s growth rates are 50% higher than the Russian data center market average due to several major hypercloud deals signed during the year. Power solutions like these help data centres meet uptime commitments at hundreds of facilities around the world. Zeppellin’s portfolio includes efficient generator sets with high power densities integrated with automatic transfer switches (ATS) and switchgear specifically customized for continuous, standby, and temporary power applications at data centres. “The market for data centre services in Russia has grown immensely, and IXcellerate has quickly risen to a strong position through the quality and reliability of their offerings,” said Bart Myers, general manager, CLEP. “We look forward to providing IXcellerate with the additional power systems support which will further enhance the company’s capabilities.” Producing reliable power from 1360 to 1875 kVA at 50 Hz, the 3512B diesel generator sets are made to meet a wide spectrum of mission critical, continuous, standby and prime applications. Each generator set has been designed to meet ISO 8528-5 transient response requirements and to accept 100% rated load in one step. The sets feature Engine Model 3512B TA,V12, 4-stroke Water-cooled Diesel, Bore 170 mm, Displacement 51.8 L Stroke 190 mm, Compression Ratio 14.0:1 Aspiration, with a Turbocharged Aftercooled Governor Type ADEM™ A3 Fuel System. Serving the EMCP Control Panel, the EMCP 4 is a scalable control platform designed to ensure reliable generator set operation, providing extensive information about power output and engine operation. According to Zeppelin, the generator sets offer both low fuel consumption and low emission systems. Generator set packages include an advanced Voltage Regulator (IVR). The IVR includes reactive droop capability, 3-phase voltage sensing, KVAR / PF modes, RFI suppression, min-max exciter, and a Limiter and exciter diode monitor.
