Maillefer & Davis-Standard: showcasing a fiber payoff, MXC extruder and more

The Maillefer & Davis-Standard teams gladly return to Interwire. Expectations are high as there is so much to catch up on, from innovative extrusion solutions and smart manufacturing, to major operational shifts that favor sustainability and durability.

Our booth will host the new compact fiber payoff, PM 265, which is sized for 50-km reels. It has the same features as the PM 305 model. Designed for a wide variety of fiber optic secondary coating lines, the six-reel position frames can combine into several configurations to handle up to 24 fibers. It controls fiber tension accurately with pneumatic dancers. The reels are behind doors for improved operator safety. The PM

305 shortens set-up times by 70% when splitting the fiber count. It operates on either the upper or the lower section at any time. While one section runs, the other section is in preparation for the next run.

Also to be shown is our MXC extruder for low-voltage applications, Smart Monitoring, which combines a working mix of hardware, a virtual reality experience featuring a modern cable factory, and artificial intelligence into a progressive manufacturing environment. The AI-augmented package is designed to identify and predict process anomalies before they get out of hand.
