BEBE REXHA

SHOWS US HER PRIDE

e're all so quick to point the finger at others for our failures, but contrary to the title of Bebe Rexha's latest EP All Your Fault: Part 1, the Platinum-selling singer/songwriter has no one to blame for her success but herself. Before she took the world's spotlight as music's newest bad bitch, she penned hits like Eminem and Rihanna's Quadruple-Platinum smash, "The Monster," wrote and was featured on Cash Cash's "Take Me Home" and Pitbull's "This Is Not A Drill," and scripted Tinashe's "All Hands On Deck" and Selena Gomez's "Champion." She's also got a co-writing credit on the Double-Platinum "Hey Mama" by David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, and Afrojack. After all those years behind the screen, Bebe's finally cutting out the middleman and giving us those hard-edged tracks directly from the tap, and we couldn't be more thirsty!

Bebe's 2015 EP When I Grow Up was the first compilation to unveil her bold voice. It blessed us with dance floor anthems like "I Can't Stop Drinking About You" and "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy," and earned her a Billboard Music Award nomination for Top Dance/Electronic Song, for her No. 1 single "Me, Myself, & I" with G-Eazy. More recently, we got to hear her on "No Broken Hearts" with Nicki Minaj and the international juggernaut, "In The Name of Love" with Martin Garrix, which clocked over 265 million YouTube/VEVO views. Thankfully, her sophomore stint is anything but a slump. The 6-track collection features stories that are at once aggressive, raw and unapologetic. You would think that with a title like "I Got You" the lead single might be another sappy love song, until you find yourself gyrating into its mesmerizing rhythm and seductive "Oh-nana-na" chant that will be permanently engraved in your brain after just one earful. You've been warned! For those of us who can't get enough rides on the emotional rollercoaster, "Atmosphere," "Small Doses" and "Gateway Drug" do not disappoint. But don't think for one second that makes Bebe a big baby. With some help from her boys, Ty Dolla $ign and G-Eazy,

she dares her man to step up to the plate and then gives the middle finger to all those "fake friends" on "F.F.F." Lucky for us, Bebe will be celebrating her new release this week in Miami with 150,000 of her real friends at Miami Beach Gay Pride. The singing sensation who has sold over 10 million singles, racked up one billion Spotify streams, and 1.3 billion combined YouTube/VEVO views will be performing all her hits on the Pride Festival's Main Stage. "We're extremely excited to have Bebe Rexha perform for our audience," said Mark Fernandes, board chairman for Pride. "She is so of-the-moment and her songs are all extremely popular. We are thrilled that she will officially kick-off the Pride Festival on Sunday right after the Opening Ceremony." Bebe Rexha's performance will begin at 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, from the Festival's Main Stage in Lummus Park just off Ocean Drive and 12th Street in Miami Beach. Miami Beach Gay Pride 2017 is presented by Celebrity Cruises. All Your Fault: Part 1 is available now.

PUBLISHER'S CORNER CELEBRATING PRIDE IN PARADISE: MIAMI BEACH GAY PRIDE 2017 Welcome to our annual Miami Beach Gay Pride special edition. This year's Pride celebration will take place April 7-9 – a full, three-day weekend that includes a Friday night VIP Reception, Saturday beach party and festival, and Sunday parade and festival. For the first time in its nine-year history, Miami Beach Gay Pride will honor as Pride Marshals four individuals who have made significant contributions to the LGBTQ community. Television personality and pop culture expert Ross Mathews will serve as Celebrity Grand Marshal; bartender and cast member of iHeart Radio's "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show," "Uncle" Johnny Pool, will serve as the Advocate Marshal; and philanthropists and advocates Liebe and Seth Gadinsky will serve as Ally Marshals. You can visit www.miamibeachgaypride. com for more information. "We are really proud to expand our Marshal program this year," said Mark Fernandes, chair of the Pride board, in a release announcing event details. "As an organization and an event, it is critical that we embody the diversity and inclusiveness of the entire community we serve. We can think of no better way to live up to that promise than by celebrating the accomplishments and efforts of these four outstanding leaders." For this week's issue, we caught up with Celebrity Grand Marshal Ross Mathews, last year's Grand Marshal Elvis Duran and headline performer Bebe Rexha. We also bring you our comprehensive Pride Events Schedule with all official and unofficial events and parties. Ross Mathews, the popular gay comedian, TV host and author will serve as Miami Beach Gay Pride's Celebrity Grand Marshal leading the loud and colorful parade that's expected to draw over 130,000 spectators this year. Ross is a strong supporter of the Human Rights Campaign, speaking at many of their nationwide events and receiving their Visibility Award in 2011. "Uncle" Johnny Pool is a legendary bartender who bartended at the world-famous Stonewall Inn in the 1960s. He was an active participant in the Stonewall Riots, widely credited as the beginning of the equal rights movement, and has since fought for the equality of all human beings regardless of sexuality or skin tone. Liebe and Seth Gadinsky have devoted over two decades to advancing social justice. Seth serves on, and formerly chaired, the board of the Anti-Defamation League in Florida. Liebe is dedicated to building community through her volunteer efforts, having distinguished herself as a strong supporter and advocate for human rights. Since its inception in 2009, Miami Beach Gay Pride has grown from a neighborhood event to a celebration on the global stage with many participating A-list celebrities, including Grand Marshals Elvis Duran, Mario Lopez and Gloria Estefan, and headline performers Adam Lambert and Jordin Sparks. Attendance has grown from an estimated 15,000 spectators for the first Pride parade in 2009 to an estimated 130,000 attendees in 2016, including not only South Floridians, but also visitors from throughout the world. In addition to Parade spectators, last year's celebration included over 65 parade contingencies, 35 floats and 2,700 participants. The Pride Festival that followed featured more than 100 LGBTQ-friendly vendors and businesses, plus refreshments, two stages of entertainment, a family-friendly play area and fireworks. This year's Pride will be another fabulous fête! Cheers,

ommunity and solidarity might fuel the spirit of Miami Beach Gay Pride 2017, but there are likely to be plenty of laughs along the way. How could there not be with Ross Mathews serving as Celebrity Grand Marshal. For the past decade-and-a-half, Ross Mathews has established himself as one of the most in-demand television personalities and purveyors of pop culture. Mathews entered the public psyche as "Ross the Intern," a correspondent on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Currently, Mathews can be seen hosting the FOX's nationally syndicated daily entertainment talk show Hollywood Today Live, which was just renewed for its second season. He's part of the E! Network's red carpet commentary team among other high-profile assignments for the openly-gay entertainer.

I refuse to let HIV get in the way of my busy schedule. I even have a cell phone app that reminds me to take my HIV meds. When I’m not working, I keep busy with boot camp, swimming, weight lifting, meditation, traveling and — oh yeah — karaoke. I know that the more control I have over my HIV, the less power I give to the virus. I take control by taking my HIV medication every day.

love Puerto Rico. It's a beautiful island with friendly people two hours away from South Florida by plane. Last year I attended the Hydro Caribbean Festival and really enjoyed my time in Puerto Rico, so I am attending the Festival again this year. I sat down with Edwin Toledo, the organizer of Hydro Caribbean Festival, to learn about this year's events and parties. Rafa Carvajal: Tell our readers about this year's Hydro Caribbean Festival.
