WKU gifted $2M from Robert and Mary Tincher Foundation
WKU was presented with a $2 million check to establish two new endowed scholarships at their last quarterly meeting of the semester on Thursday
The gift comes from the Robert and Mary Tincher Charitable Foundation Inc., a private Bowling Green foundation created by WKU alumni Robert and Mary Tincher The Foundation had previously donated $1 million to the university to support an endowed scholarship for deserving students in 2019, said Amanda Trabue, vice president for philanthropy and alumni engagement WKU President Timothy Caboni requested the regents name a residence hall in recognition of the Foundation’s gift, but the hall to be renamed is still to be determined, Caboni said in the meeting

WKU Football prepares for C-USA championship game
WKU Football will head to Jacksonville State Friday to take on the Gamecocks in the Conference USA Championship
“Very excited to go to the Conference USA championship to play an excellent football team in Jacksonville State,” Head Coach Tyson Helton said “It’s been a long road to get there
Very proud of our football team and what they’ve been able to accomplish to get to this part. Now we need to go win it, and it’ll be a great challenge for us, but we ’ re excited and ready for that opportunity ”
The Hilltoppers saved their chances at a C-USA title last week by defeating JSU at home. WKU ended a two-game losing streak with a 19-17 victory to punch their ticket to the C-USA Championship
Friday will be the Hilltopper’s fourth appearance in the Conference-USA Championship game since joining the league.
WKU Volleyball’s season comes to a close
WKU Volleyball’s season came to a close Thursday with a 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Despite the loss freshman outside hitter Alivia Skidmore made her presence known with 17 kills, just two shy from her career high Four players had double-digit kills, one being C-USA player of the year Kaylee Cox who ended with 12 kills
