UPDATED: HVAC units monitored, cooling stable in Pearce Ford Tower

HVAC units in Pearce Ford Tower had issues with cooling properly from Wednesday, Sept 11, to Wednesday, Sept. 18 according to emails sent Monday to the Herald and PFT residents by Katie Corbin, assistant director of marketing and communications for WKU Housing and Residence Life

Corbin said via email that maintenance technicians believed they solved the individual issues last week and “at that time, there was no indication of a building-wide outage ” However, on Saturday, more issues with HVAC units were reported which indicated “sporadic and intermittent outages throughout the building,” according to Corbin’s emails

WellU hosts annual Healthy Days fair

WKU’s Student Wellness Program, WellU, hosted its 22nd annual Healthy Days event on Wednesday at the Raymond B. Preston Health and Activities Center.

The Healthy Days event is a student wellness fair where organizations from the WKU and Bowling Green communities come together to promote health and wellness for students. The theme of the event this year was “Waves for Healthier Days.”

Attendees were given a punch card to take with them to each booth present Participants received a free T-shirt after five punches and could enter a raffle of their choosing after 10 punches. Some of the raffle prizes included a snow cone maker, a Bluetooth speaker, free meal vouchers and gift cards

Board of Regents announces name of WKU Football Complex in special called meeting

The WKU Board of Regents met through Zoom for a six-minute special meeting Wednesday to approve the naming of the WKU Football Complex after the late Harold and Juanita Koon.

The Football Complex sits by the west side of Houchens-Smith Stadium and “houses the Hilltoppers’ locker room, weight room, training room, coaches’ offices, football operations and meeting rooms ” according to a press release sent by WKU Athletics following the meeting
