WKU student fatally shot after allegedly entering wrong Bowling Green apartment

Covington Oaks apartment complex. The resident reported someone, later identified as 23-year-old Matthew Maggart, was kicking their apartment door.

Bayless beats Bulldogs with last-second layup

Diddle Arena roared as graduate guard Braxton Bayless ran down the court with just seconds on the clock.

Bayless, who had the Hilltoppers on his back Saturday with a career-high 27 points, had the ball in his hands as WKU trailed Louisiana Tech 63-62 After he completed his trek from coast to coast, Bayless sunk the game-winning layup with 0.4 seconds left, securing a 64-63 WKU victory.

“Coach (Hank Plona) said ‘We get it, just go. Don’t pass it just look to score, ’” Bayless said “I was going all game ”

Lady Toppers end road trip with comeback victory

Led by 19 points from junior guard Josie Gilvin, WKU Women’s Basketball overcame an eightpoint deficit Saturday to take down Louisiana Tech 78-73

points, and senior forward Mariama Sow scored three straight shots to keep the Lady Toppers in the game.

Along with Gilvin’s 19 points, the guard grabbed 10 rebounds, with seven being offensive Hayes dominated, scoring 18 points, and eight in the fourth quarter. Senior guard Alexis Mead continued her consistency, scoring 18 as well.

WKU Baseball sweeps Lafayette College

WKU Baseball continued their undefeated season after sweeping the Lafayette College Leopards in a three-game series Feb 22-23

Senior outfielder Ethan Lizama had a great series, going 6-12 in the series, with two home runs and six RBIs

The Hilltoppers pitching had another good series, allowing the Leopards five runs and striking out 29.
