Good morning, Hilltoppers!

No classes today! Please read on for a newsletter covering WKU's campuses flooding, Midnight on the Hill, a piece on former Lady Topper Josie Gilvin, as well as wins for both WKU Softball and Baseball. Have a safe Monday, and as always, GO TOPS!

All campuses closed, classes canceled Monday due to flooding

Classes on all WKU campuses will be closed Monday, April 7 “due to extreme flooding throughout the region,” according to a weather alert sent Sunday evening via email, text and social media

This comes after the Owensboro campus closed Wednesday and the Glasgow campus closed Friday

The recent flooding is part of a larger pattern of severe weather Last week, there were two tornado warnings Temperatures are fluctuating from highs in the 80s on Friday to projected below-freezing lows on Monday night and Tuesday morning

Midnight on the Hill raises over $120,000 for

St. Jude

Midnight on the Hill (MOTH) took its finale to the Preston Center with over 900 people on Friday from 6 p m to 12 a m to raise money for the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital Screams could be heard throughout the Preston Center as the event began to ramp up People filed in to help support and partake in the many activities MOTH offered: from events such as volleyball, mafia, silent disco and musical chairs to playing dodgeball in the racquetball rooms

Gilvin commits to Kentucky

Former WKU Women’s Basketball junior guard Josie Gilvin announced on Instagram Friday her commitment to the University of Kentucky Gilvin spent three seasons as a Lady Topper before entering her name into the transfer portal on March 25

WKU Softball wins 2 games at Kennesaw State

WKU Softball secured its second Conference USA series win April 4 and 5 at Kennesaw State University. Sophomore designated hitter Maci Masters lived up to her offensive reputation this weekend She earned four RBIs from two homers in WKU’s game-two win The Hilltopper pitching staff also proved very effective The squad allowed just three runs in the three-game series. WKU improved to 20-16 overall and 6-8 in CUSA

WKU Baseball wins series at Dallas Baptist

WKU baseball made a statement on the road this weekend, winning two of three games against No 17 Dallas Baptist University

The Hilltoppers improved to 6-3 CUSA record and an overall record of 27-5 This is the Hilltoppers’ second CUSA series win This also marks the first series loss for DBU this season. WKU pitching continued its great 2025 season

The Hilltoppers held the Patriots to 17 hits and at one point to 17 straight scoreless innings.
