Good morning, Hilltoppers!

Please read on for a newsletter covering Midnight on the Hill, the upcoming Student Scholar Showcase, information on a new WKU Basketball recruit, as well as game previews for both WKU Softball and Baseball. Happy Friday, and as always, GO TOPS!

Midnight on the Hill to return to WKU

Midnight on the Hill (MOTH), a fundraiser to raise money for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, is returning to the Hill.

MOTH will feature games, a Silent Disco, karaoke, free dinner, energy drinks, Dutch Bros, a SmashCar and a raffle Friday at 5:30 p m in the Preston Center

According to MOTH’s director Abbi Young, a senior biology major, MOTH originally started as “Up til Dawn” 25 years ago The group is now recognized as MOTH and is accredited with raising over $300,000 toward St Jude’s

WKU to host 55th annual Student Scholar

Showcase

The 55th annual Student Scholar Showcase will return to WKU on April 5 from 8:30 a m to 3:30 p m

The showcase will include students’ accomplishments through oral presentations, performances, posters, exhibits and displays surrounding their research

The event will contain the morning sessions from 9:30 a m to 11 a m , a lunch break will follow from 11 a m to 12 p m , midday sessions will be held from 12:15 p m to 1:45 p m and the event will end with the afternoon sessions from 2 p m to 3:30 p m

WKU Men’s Basketball earns portal commitment

WKU Men’s Basketball secured its first player from the transfer portal Thursday, aiding a guard room that has seen three players enter the portal since it opened on March 24

Junior guard Cam Haffner, who played the last two seasons as an Evansville Ace, announced on X and Instagram he is making the trip to Bowling Green. With guards Don McHenry, Julius Thedford, and Enoch Kalambay entering the portal, and seniors Tyler Olden and Jaylen Dorsey graduating, Haffner joins the Hilltoppers amidst a roster reload

WKU Softball heads to Kennesaw State

WKU Softball will take its two-game winning streak into its fifth Conference USA series at Kennesaw State University April 4-6

The Hilltoppers hosted Louisiana Tech this past weekend and walked away with two wins WKU also defeated Lipscomb 8-3 in Nashville on Tuesday The Hilltoppers are 18-15 overall and eighth in CUSA with a 4-7 conference record

WKU baseball looks for series win at Dallas Baptist

WKU Baseball will continue its road trip April 46, traveling to No. 17 Dallas Baptist for a threegame Conference USA series

The Hilltoppers are coming off a 5-4 extra innings loss to No. 23 Vanderbilt on Tuesday. The loss took WKU to 4-4 on the road and an overall record of 25-4 WKU also holds a 4-2 CUSA record.

Against Vanderbilt, the Hilltoppers’ top three hitters, juniors Carlos Vasquez and Ryan Wideman, and senior Ethan Lizama, went 6-for15 with two RBIs and scored all of the Hilltoppers’ runs The Hilltopper pitching allowed nine hits, two walks and struck out six batters.
