THE WAY- WYCAMP 2025

“WHICH WAY?” calls out the MC Iene ‘Junior’ Ratusau of Streams Community Church, Auckland. Everyone would point upwards and shout, “THAT WAY!” If we gathered to worship, sit down for a meal, or prepare for a game, Iene reminded us of ‘The Way’ to the Father.

TheTheme

We asked, “What would youth need to know about being a true disciple of Christ?” Early Christians were simply known as “The Way.” It’s because they lived according to the way Jesus taught. They were known for “the way ” they practised generosity, scripture reading, serving, rest, and evangelism.

WYCAMP ‘25 was designed to help learn and be challenged in two practices that shaped early Christians–prayer and community. These practices are crucial to a resilient faith and relationship with Christ. TheOutcome.

WYCAMP has spurred a sense of connectedness. A month after WYCAMP, the high still lives among the youth who made it to CYC, Ngaruawahia in January 2025. The emerging generation of Wesleyans seeks an ever-deeper desire for Christ, Prayer, Scripture, and Community.

Youth Pastor Francis Nofoa of City Cross Link leads ‘Youth Revival,’ an evening of worship, prayer, and scripture. Now at least five youth groups from Auckland are joining ‘Youth Revival’ to keep the fire going.

On Waitangi Day, many leaders and youth spontaneously gathered, drawn to a sense of belonging and connection to one another–Soni Taufa, a youth leader for Joyful News, came from his night shift directly to Narrow Neck beach, Auckland to man the BBQ saying he “had to” because “ we miss everyone. ”

At WYCAMP, youth gathered during “free time” for Bible Study. Now older youth are making it a point to form accountability groups and are determined to meet for bible study with one another.

Two weeks after WYCAMP, as many gathered to mourn the loss of Rev. Jone Kacivi, Pastor for Living Waters Napier and former pastor for New Life Henderson, Wesleyan youth were among those grieving. Between the formalities and emotions, youth were recalling moments at WYCAMP for strength: “Which way? That Way.”

You will be surprised at the faith of the next generation. They have discovered a life lived as Christ taught is indeed possible through regular prayer and fellowship with one another. They only need encouragement and persistent prayer as often as you can spare it. Which way? That Way

Hey Everyone

We, at Youth Revival, were inspired by the Wesleyan Tongan Forum to begin our own Alpha Course this year for our youth and young adults who are willing to strengthen our relationships with God We are doing the new Alpha Youth Series that just came out last October, targeting questions that youth should become more comfortable speaking about.

We are opening this up to any youth or young adult who is able to commit to every Tuesday evening for 8 weeks from the 25th of February to the 15th of April & one Saturday for a little retreat (29th of March). This is a totally free event with food included, but we will need you to complete a free registration by scanning the QRcode below or by visiting our instagram page @youth revival nz for more details

The Topics we will be discussing are:

Jesus Is ?

What Does Real Love Look Like?

Why Would I Want a Relationship With God?

What Does a Relationship With God Look Like?

Who Is the Holy Spirit?

How Can I Be Filled With the Holy Spirit?

How Does God Help Us Overcome Evil?

Does God Heal Today? What Happens Next?

YOUTH REVIVAL

A bunch of youth and young adults that meet up once or twice a month on Monday evenings at the Onehunga Community Centre. We began at the end of 2023 and have been actively growing in size and stature ever since.

The name is an intentional goal and God-given desire to see the youth of New Zealand have a spiritual revival. This initiative began when the youth leaders of City Cross Link, Redoubt North Wesleyan Church, and Shiloh Youth came together with this desire for their own youth. We have been meeting earnestly almost every other Monday in the year of 2024, to strategise, give feedback, and pray for the next Youth Revival Night we host.

Our Youth Revival Nights are more than just games and singing, we also take the time to discuss in small groups about serious questions, and serious topics that we as youth face today and then relate it back to scripture and God, then end it off with food

We are not just for the Wesleyan youth, we are open to any youth and young adult who want to learn more about Jesus and eventually grow in a relationship with him. To keep up with our events and evenings please visit our Instagram page @youth revival nz.
