You are a work of art!
National Superintendent: Rev. Brett Jones
There’s an unassailable truth, true of every Christ

follower. Not one Christ follower reading this of whom it isn’t true: you ’ re a work of art!
Ephesians 2:10 says it like this:
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
You are not a factory production line job. You’re a one-off. A customised artwork. Crafted by a master craftsman. You’re designed with intention, with purpose, with a part to play.
It all goes back to Ephesians 1:
4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
God has had us in mind before the creation of the world to be in relationship with him. That is quite a statement. We are more than our biology. More than the random chance of our DNA. More than chance meetings of unlikely ancestors. More than accidents of history. God has had us, you and me, in mind since before Creation. Ephesians 1 gives us something of the scale of all of this and God’s intentionality that we should be adopted as children of God. Through Jesus, we have redemption, forgiveness, the richness of grace – of undeserved favour. We have been included in Christ, marked with the Holy Spirit.
.\In 1 Corinthians 12 we discover more about how God is preparing us to live our lives as works of art:
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. … 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
To each one. God is gifting each one of us with spiritual gifts. No one misses out because everyone is needed. Once again, there is intentionality and thought given to how these gifts are distributed. It’s not random or accidental.
God is not only equipping His church through all of this. He is restoring people in communities of self-giving love, which we call the church. Because, not only are YOU a work of art, WE together are being crafted into something beautiful. In this we reflect His image individually and together.
This month is “Ministry Month”. It’s an opportunity to explore how God is leading in this journey of discovering how we ’ ve been made. Take some time to check out the resources and opportunities that are on offer!

PJ48K Prayer and Worship Invitation
Kia Ora WMCANZ Pastors and Leaders, CCL’s ‘Operation Jabez’Church Plant initiative (under our Church Multiplication programme) is stepping up to a denomination-wide promotion for Prayer & Resourcing.
The idea is to create a Praise & Worship/Prayer event once a month to update everyone in regard to our church planting efforts in the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Aotearoa-New Zealand. Pastor Joel Detalo and the CCL Music team will be on tour to different Churches (within the Wesleyan Methodist) wherever we are welcomed.
This is a no-stress/free admission event; we just need your place as venue, date/time; and maybe 5 or more audience from your church. That's it. We will try to contain the event in one hour. This is a Music/Prayer/Church Multiplication Promotion.
You may message me (mike.yates@wesleyan,nz) or Pastor Joel Detalo (joel.detalo@wesleyan.nz) if you wish to host this event in your church. In this connection, we would like to invite you and everyone in your congregation to the launching of this Project Jabez 48k (PJ48k) Praise/Worship/Prayer event this Sunday 25th August 2024; 4:00-5:00PM; @ The Streams Community Church, 100 Queen Street, Panmure, Auckland. Bring your Whanau & Friends.
Let's join our hearts to pray for missions and that the nation may know Jesus Christ, one soul at a time.

International Food Night @ East City Wesleyan
ECW hosted it's annual International Food Night youthwork fundraiser on the 10th of August. It was an exciting night of good food and fun! We learned more about the varied cultures in our church whanau as each table provided information about why the food was important to the different cultures represented. We raised around $6000 for youthwork in our area. This is something to be celebrated! Our biggest celebration was that more than 200 people came through invitation and word of mouth. It was so fun to see how community was being built by sharing our cultures with one another.
