1920 Society Membership
Belong to something empowering.
The 1920 Society
was founded to recognize the National Women’s History Museum’s most generous members and to honor the extraordinary women who boldly fought for women’s right to vote—women whose stories, challenges, and triumphs have long been underrepresented. An early leader in virtual cultural content, the National Women’s History Museum is the nation’s largest online cultural
institution dedicated to American women’s history. With the support of more than 55,000 Charter members over the past two decades, the Museum has worked to integrate women’s contributions into the fabric of our national narrative through innovative and accessible programming, pioneering research, cutting-edge online exhibits, and resources centered on our core values of
diversity, equity, and inclusion. In 2022, the Museum will begin in-person programming in our nation’s capital, while continuing to create and deliver virtual programming and resources that illuminate the powerful history of women in America. By joining the 1920 Society at this exciting and critical juncture, you will help ensure women’s history is available and accessible to students of all
ages, educators, and general audiences across the world. As a member of the 1920 Society, we can collaboratively ensure that future generations are empowered by the extraordinary contributions and accomplishments of women that for too long have gone untold. We invite you to join us in this exciting next chapter and the important work of representation.
“Our collective national story is incomplete. When we don’t include women’s contributions to history, we’re teaching a story riddled with holes.”
— Susan D. Whiting
Chair, National Women’s History Museum Board of Directors
