After 24 years of being away from home we are finally back on The Rock celebrating Christmas with family and close friends. Needless to say, we are beyond excited. Thrilled that It will be the first Christmas of many being back on this beautiful island I call home.

Living away from this gorgeous province of Newfoundland and Labrador has been quite an experience. Some good and some bad. I made some wonderful friends along the way and went on some pretty amazing adventures I must admit. Adventures that I probably never would have had the opportunity to indulge in if I hadn't decided to jet set off those 24 years ago. Ontario presented some wonderful opportunities to me personally and professionally. I studied Interior Design and Decor at one of the top colleges in Ontario and then set up my own Design Firm in which I became very successful. I absolutely love what I do and I wouldn't change a thing about my career. I am extremely passionate about the Interior Design Industry and very proud of the milestones I have overcome. Ontario presented many great opportunities for the industry that I am so passionate about.

much as I thoroughly enjoyed my life experiences living away it was quite challenging at times. Coming from a culture that prides itself on being friendly and courteous, it was a very different way of living for me. It was a little challenging to make friends compared to this affectionate land that I am so blessed to call home. I also really missed drivers stopping for you at a crosswalk. This was a rare find unfortunately. It is so funny that the little things you take for granted sometimes are the things that mean the most.

AS WE contemplated moving back home for the last few years but the timing never seemed to be right, My husband's job didn't lend itself to working from home. Times have changed however, and working from home seems to be more of the norm now more than ever and that has definitely helped us in our decision making. Having the privilege of working from home for my husband and with me running this beautiful and inspiring magazine from home and online has been a true blessing.
