Holiday Top Fives from Rhonda Hamilton &Monifa Brown
e asked two WBGO hosts who are always enthusiastic about seasonal music, Rhonda Hamilton and Monifa Brown, to share their top five holiday tunes with Upbeat readers. Here’s what they said: “When I think of my favorite holiday tunes, I always go back to my childhood and the songs that I would hear at home year after year beginning with everybody’s favorite, Nat King Cole singing “The Christmas Song.” It just wouldn’t be Christmas without that timeless gem,” Rhonda Hamilton told Upbeat. “My father introduced me to Duke Ellington’s version of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite. We always listened to that album during the holiday season. My mother was a Sinatra fan so from his Christmas Album I’d pick “The Christmas Waltz.”
