GETTING “TOURNAMENT READY” Looking ahead to 2024

BY LOU SILVEIRA GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

As we bid farewell to 2023, I am excited when looking ahead to the new year, here at Woodbridge Golf & Country Club. It has only been a mere three months since joining the team, but already it feels as if I have been here for years. With any change in management comes a bit of trepidation, but your golf course agronomy team has embraced the challenge and continues to work hard, consistently striving to improve work quality to enhance your golf experience.

Behind the scenes, our dedicated team has worked tirelessly to maintain the standards that make Woodbridge unique. Our greenskeeping crew, led by our talented team of course maintenance professionals, are driven to ensure that every day is “tournament ready.” We are embracing innovative approaches to course management, utilizing the latest technologies to enhance the playability and sustainability of our course.

As we raise our glasses to welcome the New Year, let us express our gratitude for the shared moments, the triumphs, and the challenges that have shaped our journey together. Woodbridge is not just a golf course; it is a community—a family bound by a love for the game and a commitment to creating lasting memories.

Looking ahead to 2024, I am honored to celebrate with everyone a storied 100 years of golf history here at the Club.

Thank you for being an integral part of the Woodbridge family. May the New Year bring you joy, success, and, of course, many more rounds of golf on our course.

Wishing you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Sincerely,

Lou Silveira Director of Agronomy Woodbridge Golf & Country Club

On a side note:

While you are out on your next round of golf, take a moment to look around while on the No. 6 Vineyard. You just may get a glimpse of a pair of Bald Eagles that have taken up residency and hopefully hatching their young this coming spring.
