TENNIS LEAGUE SPRING RESULTS

C Team:

The Woodbridge C Team finished their first season and celebrated at the all league Luncheon at Del Rio Country Club. We were proud of our accomplishments this season and glad to cross the finish line. With four rescheduled matches due to rain, it was a winter season of heavy rain on Wednesday nights, our season went long. We are proud that all 5 lines pulled off at least one W in our first year and our line 5 duo finished our season in victory with their great win and we could not have been happier for them! As a team we had a win in one overall match, it felt great. We are dedicated and determined to take on the 24/25 season with more wins and more importantly…more fun and great snacks!

B Teams:

This fall, Woodbridge Country Club was excited to have two B level teams on our tennis roster. After winning first place two years in a row, the existing C Team from 2022-2023 collectively moved up to the ranks of level B allowing Woodbridge to have two B teams in the Central Valley Tennis League competition for 2023-2024 season.

It was exciting to double down on the tennis and have twice the opportunity for Woodbridge to shine with our tennis skills and sportsmanship throughout the valley. Although there was competition, it was more about camaraderie as we worked to advance our skills and our rankings to do our country club proud! At the close of the season this spring, Woodbridge B Team Black secured 4th place and Woodbridge B Team Red came in right behind earning a 5th place finish.

We are all back out on the courts already preparing for an even more dominating approach to next year‘s tennis season. I guess you could say we love, love tennis!

A Team:

Our Woodbridge A team had a great 2023-2024 season and whole lot of fun! We finished 15-3 which landed us a strong 2nd place, just one match difference between the first place team. Our matches were competitive and fun, usually celebrated by a lively lunch following our matches.

• Line 1 -Our “sister team” Janis Morehead and Jill Thompson

• Line 2- Natalie Nguyen and Lora Fry

• Line 3- Becky Harper and Carol Johnston

• Line 4- Cindy Brink and Callie Crum

• Line 5-Carrie Koenig and Kim Mulbarger

Three of our players were in the Top 10 Players of the entire league-Janis Morehead (#1), Jill Thompson (#5) and Natalie Nguyen (#6).

With our league matches completed, you can find us all on the courts all playing together through the summer months.
