U.S. Open Trophies Permanently on Display Worcester Country Club was the first Club to host the Ryder Cup, the U.S. Open and the U.S. Women’s Open. Only two other Clubs in the world have joined us in hosting these events and have the ability to display these three trophies. In recognition of our storied place in history all three trophies are now permanently on display in our clubhouse for our Members and Guests to view. Since being on display the comment’s of Members and guests have been extraordinary. “Blown away”, “Amazing”, “I never knew WCC hosted all three tournaments”. The phones come out and the picture taking begins upon arrival.

Registration Cocktail Reception May 10th, 2018 The Women’s Golf League welcomes new or existing members that have a USGA handicap of 45 or less. The annual dues for competing in either the 18 or 9 hole league will be $125. Any woman wishing to play in any of the major tournaments, who is not a member of the Women’s Golf League, will be charged an appropriate fee for each event.

Please join us for the Welcome Back Cocktail Reception which is being held on Thursday, May 10th at 6PM. To register for the Women’s Golf League and the Cocktail Reception, please email Judy Mucciarone at mucciaronej@worcestercc.org.

Cocktail Reception reservations must be made. The Golf League gift, along with the golf schedules will be handed out at the Reception.

Pee Wee Clinics Pee Wee clinics are a great way for kids to be introduced to the game of golf.

We will emphasize: - Fundamentals - Fun - Etiquette - Clinics are free of charge - Clubs provided - Available to all children & grandchildren of members The clinic will be broken into 2 age groups: - Ages 2-7: kids will be given an intro to golf with an emphasis on fun and basic golf skills - Ages 8-12: kids will receive basic golf instruction with an emphasis on fun DATES: May 5th, May 12th & May 19th

Worcester Country Clubs “Clubs Within the Club” program allows fellow Members to share interests and commonalities to get together to have a great time!

We listed a few potential “Clubs within the Club” (below) that we thought would be of interest to many Members. We also would like to encourage everyone to get involved as we help create an environment where Members can design and run their own specialty clubs.

Members decide whether they want to meet on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to discuss, sample or do something active. We’re happy to assist in finding like-minded Members, providing tips and getting the Clubs up and running!

Potential Clubs; Book Club - Bowling Club - Vintners Club - Theatre Club - Walking Club - Movie Club Ladies Aerobics Club - Women’s Business Club - Bridge Club - Photography Club Bird Watching Club - Putts & Pints Club - Cribbage Club - 4 Hole Club - Coffee Club WCC Patriots Fan Club - WCC Red Sox Fan Club - WCC Bruins Fan Club The list is endless just as our Members interests are. Please don’t be bashful, you may be surprised how many Members have the same interests you do. The number of Members in a club does not reflect the success of the club. Clubs may have 2, 5, 10, or as many Members that are interested in that activity.

A great example of a club is this years “Ladies Night Out” which meets at the club the first Thursday of every month. There are specialty cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres offered. Sometimes they have 4 attendees and other nights they may have up to 12 or more. Many of the ladies met other Members for the first time.

Should you wish to be chairperson of a club or start a club, lets get together and create a flyer to send out to the entire Membership and see what interest there may be. Once your club gets together you may wish to determine the best day and time to meet.
