On the following pages, you will learn much about who God is and how to build a relationship with Him. As you find answers in God's Word (the Bible) to the lessons we will go over, you may have other questions that come to mind. Please write them down and we'll search the Bible together for the answers to your questions.

This booklet is a Bible study designed to help you understand God's Word and how it applies to your daily life with Jesus. To complete this study you will need to have a good Bible.

HOW TO USE THIS BOOKLET

Each lesson is written to help you grow in your Bible knowledge and your relationship and responsibility to Jesus. Your coach will assist you in any way possible. If you get “stuck” on a question, go on to the next one and come back when you are done or wait until your coach can help you. The way these Bible lessons are put together makes them both easy and fun. As you use this Bible study, our prayer is that you will grow step by step in your Bible knowledge. Also, we pray that your relationship with the Lord will grow greatly.

Lesson 1

MEETING YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER KEY VERSE: John 1:12

BRIDGE OF LIFE

Listen closely as your coach goes over the “Bridge of Life” picture. Whose family were we all in when we were born? ___________ (Romans 3:23). What gift did God offer to you so you could go to Heaven? _______________ _______________ (Romans 6:23). When you put your faith and trust in Jesus and believed in Him as your personal Savior, you became a member of whose family? ________ (John 1:12). You are now a child of God. You have been adopted into His family and God is now your Heavenly Father. Take time right now to pray and thank God for becoming your Heavenly Father. If you have never put your faith and trust in Jesus and believed in Him as your personal Savior, ask your coach to explain what you need to do. If you have received the Lord Jesus as your Savior, God is now your Heavenly Father. It is like being adopted into God's Family. Fill in your name and when you accepted Jesus on the “Spiritual Birth Certificate” your coach has provided for you.

Do you have a close friend that you enjoy doing things with? Draw a picture in the box below that shows you and your friend enjoying an activity together.

Today you learned that God loves you and wants to be your very best friend (Proverbs 18:24). Sometimes it is hard to love others who are different than you or treat you badly. God loves you no matter what you say or what you do, in fact, He sent His Son to die for you. This week, try to love like God does – even when it is hard to do so.

God as your Heavenly Father . . . Faith – saves you through your faith in Him, not your works. Adopts you into His family. Talks to you from the Bible. Holy – is without sin. Everywhere – God is everywhere. Remember – love others like God loves you.
