EXPERT INTERVIEW

Stunning kitchens by Hamilton Stone Design

Tell us a little about the history of Hamilton Stone? Hamilton Stone Design was established 14 years ago initially as an Interior Design Company and then we branched out into designing and installing kitchens. We have a background in commercial management, interior design and space planning so we were able to use these skills as the basis of our new company.

How would you describe your style? Our partners range from the very contemporary cabinets from Rot Punkt and Keller to our own brand of more traditional painted oak cabinets which can be bespoke painted to the colour of your choice. We offer a wide range of cabinets constructed in our partners factory in Yorkshire with more bespoke items being made locally in Wivelsfield by our very talented joiner. The very popular pallet of Farrow and Ball colours is our start point and we can create our customers perfect kitchen from our extensive range.

Talk us through your customer process? We have amassed over 30 years of experience designing kitchens for all types of homes in all styles you could imagine. We do this the same way as we always have. We simply listen, plan, advise, and collaborate with our customers. From the initial design consultation where we discuss all our customers wish list through to the installation of their beautiful kitchen with our professional installation team and in house project management service. We want our customers to really enjoy the process from start to finish.

What advice would you give to a client who wants a kitchen that will work for them but also add value to their home? Buy a good quality kitchen. All our cabinets have a 10 year warranty on all components. The kitchen will need to look as good as it does on the day of installation to the day when you may move on and the new owner will enjoy the perfect kitchen too

What’s your favourite thing about working in this area of Sussex? As a very local company it is really great to constantly be recommended to family and friends of customers we have worked with. We are a family business and like to work with our local community

The White Western

‘Acomb’ door Delicate details

Delicate details make this kitchen a true show stopper! With oating shaker panels, ogee edging on the bright ‘Denali Cloud’ quartz and eye catching ‘crystal’ knobs. Our ‘Acomb’ door is a beautiful in-frame option. Our client chose to colour match Farrow and Ball ‘Wimborne White’ to compliment their light and timeless décor. Featuring intelligent Siemens appliances, perfect for any cook and ample dry food storage in the amazing corner larder cabinet! Our client worked closely with our carpenters to create a beautiful bespoke mantle to complete this statement kitchen. Following through from the kitchen is a matching utility room, providing further storage and a practical space for day to day.

Accents of colour

Accents of colour create a beautiful contrast between the practical kitchen space and the living area. The blue/grey island compliments the clients exciting décor and the pale tall units blend back into the neutral walls, keeping the space feeling spacious and open. A stylish Quartz worktop runs over the units and oats up the walls. A fancy feature as well as an easy to clean alternative to tiles! Two sinks appear in this kitchen, one for dirty dishes with a handy spray tap and another on the island for food preparation. Making the kitchen a comfortable working space for more than one! As well as doubling up the sinks, in this kitchen the island boasts two wine chillers, perfect for hosting.

Check out this sleek, contemporary, handle-less kitchen we recently installed in West Sussex. This beautiful design includes two islands, one to provide a social space for family and friends to eat and drink together, with the other dedicated to creating a clean, open cooking and preparation area. A smart Ne induction hob sits beside a Ne domino gas hob, and a Ne downdraft extractor sits ush in the worktop; an exciting combination for any budding chef! A Quooker tap provides boiling water saving the need for a kettle, creating a lovely clear CRL Quartz worktop. This gorgeous kitchen isn’t shy of appliances with Ne slide and hide ovens, built in co ee centre, combination oven, integrated fridge and freezer and not forgetting the amazing Caple wine cabinet which is part of a beautiful bar area with a Southern Counties Glass feature splashback of a sunset view of Brighton’s pier. This kitchen design also includes two integrated dishwashers and double dishwasher drawers, so you’ll never be short of clean dishes! Dark handle-less cabinets help create depth in this large, bright room and in a gloss nish the light bounces from each section of this amazing contemporary kitchen.
