Interview with the team at AG Bespoke Windows

Tell us a little about the background of AG Bespoke Windows? I have been working as a project manager and contract administrator for more than 20 years and had found often that the designs and aspirations of clients were often difficult to achieve or unavailable through the existing and established marketplace in the UK with many of our clients requiring bespoke designs and intricate customisations that would often be less cost effective. AG Bespoke Windows came into being as a result of the significant gap in the marketplace for high-quality products offering individual character, stylish luxury, efficiency and affordability.

Can you go through your customer process with us? Simplicity is the key to our process, as this is generally one of the most significant investments a client will make in their homes, we like to be comprehensive. Initial enquiries come through our showroom, online, by telephone or through our partner network. We arrange a convenient time for a showroom or home visit to discuss and answer any questions and discuss the varying options and types, material selections, styles, finishes and colour that are available and measure the windows. We aim to deliver a personalised quotation back within 7 days of our 1st visit and follow up with our Design Review to ensure everything is to our clients exact requirements and answer any further question they may have. When our clients are happy to proceed, we go through the deposit & order stage and confirm the delivery date and strive to keep our clients fully informed every step of the way. On confirming the delivery date we then schedule a suitable date and time for the installation. Fitting day - is the final stage when we apply the AG Bespoke Windows special touches to the clients home so they can finally see their vision come to life.

What types of materials can you use? Primarily we work with Timber, Aluminium and Alu-Clad products and our range includes Bespoke Timber Sash Windows and Heritage Sash Windows. Wood is a natural and environmentally friendly material with excellent thermally insulative qualities; aiding with a constant level of humidity in a room, and providing comfort and aesthetic pleasure. Our use of engineered timber manufacturing technology helps to expose all of the natural qualities and allows the wood to be created into virtually unlimited shapes that is accompanied by a vast spectrum of colours and customisable technical solutions enhancing the diversity of applications, where even the most demanding of clients can find the solutions for their needs. Aluminium and Alu-Clad windows offer a bold declaration of style featuring low density, slimline frames and are perfect for contemporary properties, but are also crucially built with the strength to withstand the worst that the British weather has to offer. Smaller frames bring our extensive glass range to life, filling every room with ample natural light. Not only is it important that windows look the part, they must also perform impeccably, all year-round and our range of window systems offer full functionality with windows that open on almost all aspects; including from the side or top, vertically slide and tilt and turn and the reassurance of an insurance backed 10 year guarantee.

If a client lives in a conservation area are you able to match historic designs to overcome planning and building control regulations? For protected and conservation area properties the Local Authorities will assess each application on a case by case basis and we do offer a full planning application service. We work closely with Local Authority planning control departments and Conservation Teams to ensure that all aspects and requirements are addressed during the planning application stages; this also aids in the discharging of any conditions imposed by the Local Authority. Being FENSA registered suppliers and installers all aspects of the Building Control requirements are covered by our installation on general installations and we work closely with our partner network of Private Building Control officers on larger developments.
