Aphrodite’s Rock
Your very first stop is located on the outskirts of Paphos city; Aphrodite’s Rock, or ‘Petra tou Romiou’ as it’s known to locals is a naturally formed sea stack that has earned a few different origin stories. Its most famous being that it was created during Aphrodite’s birth, while another claims that a hero named Basil Digenes Akritas, threw the giant rock from mount Troodos to keep off the invading Saracens. The cultural, historic, and mythological significance makes it one of the most popular spots to visit for both tourists and locals.
