フレイザースイート赤坂東京 Fraser Suites Akasaka, Tokyo 心がリラックスするラグジュアリー空間を目指して Aiming at the luxury of space that relaxes your soul 世界的なラグジュアリーホテルチェーン、フレイザーズホス ピタリティが提供するサービスアパートメント「フレイザー スイート赤坂東京」。客室にはキッチンや洗濯機が備わって いる、高級ホテル並みのサービスが受けられる長期滞在型レ ジデンスです。WORKTECHT & Co.の照明デザイナー・黒瀬は、 Invisible（不可視）をコンセプトに、ランドスケープや会議 室などの共用部、客室の照明デザインを手がけました。 屏風をイメージしたデザインが施されたメインエントランス は、壁にダブルのアッパーライトを入れることで空間にボリ ュームをもたせました。会議室は温白色と電球色のLEDテー プを二周回すことで、利用スタイルに応じた雰囲気の演出 ができるように。 アシンメトリックデザインの客室は、ピンホールのダウンライ トを用いることで非日常ながらリラックスできる空間へと 仕上げました。桜や紅葉のあるランドスケープの間接照明に もLEDを使用。季節によって木々の装いが変化するため、照明 の色温度を調整することで自然の美しさを引き立てられるよ うにしました。

Fraser Suites Akasaka, Tokyo is a serviced apartment offered by Frasers Hospitality, a global hospitality operator, that promises their guests to enjoy luxurious experience. The guest rooms are for long-stay residence and equipped with kitchen, laundry machine and other necessary appliances on the same standard as exclusive hotels. Kurose, a lighting designer from WORKTECHT & Co., brought in a concept of "invisibility" to design lighting for the common areas including a landscape and a conference room, as well as the guest rooms. At the main entrance reflecting an image of Byobu, Japanese traditional folding screens, double uplighting fixtures are added by the wall to give a feeling of expanding space. In the conference room, two circles of an LED light strip in warm white color and another in bulb color are set up so that different ambiences can be created in coordination with how the room wants to be used. In the guest rooms asymmetrically designed, pinhole downlights are used to furnish extraordinary and still relaxing spaces. LED is used for indirect lighting for the landscape that exhibits cherry blossoms and Japanese maple leaves. As the trees change their appearances through the seasons, the color temperatures of lighting can be adjusted to compliment the beauty of nature.

日本らしい「隠蔽」の美 Japonesque beauty of "concealment" フレイザースイートの伝統と日本の地域性を融合したインテリ アデザインを照明に昇華したい。そう考え、デザインコンセ プトをInvisibleとしました。ダウンライトやスポットライ トといった照明器具を隠蔽し、必要な照度を保ちながらもシ ンプルで洗練された、日本らしい美を目指したのです。シン プルなデザインを突き詰めるためにも、建築ディテールに配 慮した上で、緻密な計算に基づいて照明を配置しました。 こだわりの演出は、客室廊下に設置したゴボライトです。 ダウンライトに菱形が刻まれたプレートを仕込み、床に模様 が浮かび上がるようにしました。この菱形は赤坂を象徴する 木である桜をモチーフにしており、カーペットにもデザイン が取り入れられています。建築照明にもゴボライトを活用す ることで、遊び心と表現の奥行きを演出しました。

The tradition of Fraser Suites and the locality of Japan are integrated in the interior design which wants to be sublimated into lighting. This was my idea when I decided on "invisibility" as the lighting design concept. My goal was to embody Japan's unique beauty which is simple and sophisticated. For this, I concealed lighting fixtures for downlighting and spot lighting while illuminance required could be maintained. For ultimately simple design, I paid attentions to architectural details and designed lighting based on the detailed planning of effect.

I was most insistent on the gobo lights set on the hallways between the rows of the guest rooms. Plates with rhomboidal shapes were attached to the downlighting fixtures to project the shapes on the floor. The rhomboidal shape was adapted as a motif of cherry tree that symbolizes Akasaka, and the same design is found on the carpet. The gobo lights are fully leveraged even for architectural lighting for the effect of playfulness and the depth of representation.

一切の妥協なく、コンセプトを貫いた物件 The concept fully committed for the property. No compromise. フレイザー社との仕事は今回が初めてでしたが、プレゼンの段階からプロジェクトに参加すること ができ、また積水ハウス様の卓越した施工進行などのご協力もあり、比較的スムーズな進行が実現 できたと思います。さすがは世界を股にかけるフレイザーズ社と言った感じで、デザインに対する こだわりや制限は決して少ないものではありません。限られたコストの中で、いかにパフォーマン スを上げることができるか。関係者全員で知恵を出し合いながら進めていきました。結果的に、最初 に打ち立てたコンセプトをほとんど変えることなく竣工することができた、極めて貴重な物件になり ました。

This is my first experience of working with Fraser. Since I was already a project member when I gave my presentation, and Sekisui House prominently managed the progress of construction work, lighting works were relatively smoothly performed. We had to keep the luxury design standard of Fraser, while we needed to achieve high performance within a limited budget. All the stakeholders put heads together to move forward. As a result, the originally established concept was not revised almost at all until the construction was completed, which made the property extremely valuable. 経営管理・デザインディレクタ Business Management & Design 黒瀬 俊英 Yoshihide Kurose 建築を学んだ後、見る人の人種や性別、年齢、天気、 温度、湿度によって同じ光でも見え方が変わる照明デ ザインの世界に魅了され、WORKTECHT&Co.に入社。現在 は経営管理と照明デザイナーを担当し、最前線のプロ フェッショナルとともに意見交換しながらデザインを 創り上げている。建築は輪郭、内装はパーツ、照明は 化粧という概念の考えから、どのような美人でも化粧 一つで表情が変わるように、照明のメイクアップ次第 で様々な評価を得られるのが照明デザインの面白さ。 より多くの人の心を惹きつける照明のあり方を考え続 けていく。 After studying architecture, Kurose was fascinated by the domain of lighting design which turns a same light differently viewed depending on races, genders, ages of viewers, as well as weather, temperature, and humidity, and with this reason he joined WORKTECHT. Being in charge of business management and lighting design, he builds up designs exchanging opinions with frontline professionals. "The architecture is the outline, the interior is the parts, and the lighting is the make-up.".

With this concept, as women can change how they look with a simple makeup, wherever their beauty comes from, the interesting part of lighting design is to garner immense praise depending on how you put on makeup or light. Yoshihide will continue to think how lighting should be to draw more people.

細部にこそ宿る、照明デザインへのこだわり My insistence on lighting design is in details. 照明デザインを行う際は、設計図を見ながら、お客様が宿泊する様子を具体的にイメージするよ うにしています。一人で泊まるのか、二人で泊まるのか、ビジネス利用なのか、観光利用なの か。こうした違いによって、演出すべき空間のニュアンスが微妙に異なってくるからです。今回、 客室の照明には細かな調光が可能な制御機能を搭載していません。つまり、onかoffのみの操作で 、しっかりと雰囲気を演出できる絶妙な配置や照度を実現しなければなりませんでした。フレイ ザーズ社が理想とする空間を実現するのは大変な作業ではありましたが、スイッチ一つで装いを大 きく変える光の演出にはぜひ注目してもらいたいと思います。

When I designed the lighting, I looked at the architectural plan to imagine how specifically guests would spend their time during their stay. A single guest, a couple, a business person, a tourist. Such differences of guest profiles could delicately affect the nuance of light space to be produced. For the guest rooms, no dimmable light for precise light control is available. This means that an exquisite layout or illumination level should be ensured to produce ambience as planned when the light is turned on or off. It was not an easy work to actualize Fraser's ideal space, and I really hope that people will pay attentions to how a single switch can change the ambience through the production of light.

世界中で愛されるブランドの旗艦店として A flagship serviced apartment of the brand globally loved フレイザースイート東京赤坂の建設は、「日本における旗艦店を作りたい」というフレイザーズ 社直々の打診により実現しました。当社とフレイザーズ社は、これまでシンガポールやオースト ラリアにおいて、ホテルや住宅、公園等の建設を共に行っており、その実績を高く評価してくれ ていました。赤坂は東京でも屈指の好立地を誇り、なおかつ周囲に高い建物が存在しない絶好のロ ケーションを確保しています。これにより物件の存在感を大きくアピールすることはもちろんの こと、そこから眺める景観も美しく、旗艦店としてこれ以上ない形を実現できたと言えるのでは ないでしょうか。

Fraser Suites Akasaka, Tokyo was launched since Fraser earnestly desired to build a flagship serviced apartment in Japan. Fraser and WORKTECHT have been partners for construction of hotels, residential buildings, parks, for example, in Singapore and Australia, and our performance has been highly evaluated. Akasaka is a foremost excellent location in Tokyo, and around the apartment, there is no high building, which promises a perfect location. Because of all of these, I believe that the presence of the property and the beautiful views from the building can be strongly appealed. There will be no alternative property that can serve as a flagship apartment for the world-class brand.

サービスアパートメント文化を日本に根付かせる Radicating the culture of serviced apartment in Japan 本物件は、日本では珍しいサービスアパートメントという形態を持った建物です。東京でも3店 舗しかないこの形態の物件に当社が携わるのは、非常に価値のあるチャレンジだったと言えます 。そうした中で、しっかりとフレイザーズ社特有のシンガポールスタイルを維持しつつ、さまざ まな困難を乗り越えながら竣工に至ることができたのも、照明デザイナーである黒瀬さんを はじめとした、各分野のプロフェッショナル達の力が結集されたからこそ。日本への旅に対する 新しいスタイルを提供し、同時にサービスアパートメント文化を国内に浸透させるような存在に なってくれればうれしいです。

This building has a function of serviced apartment which is rare in Japan. In Tokyo, there are only three serviced apartments, and for WORKTECHT, it was an extremely valuable challenge to be engaged in the project. Fraser's specific Singaporean style had to be uncompromised, and many hurdles had to be overcome before the successful completion of the construction. Kurose, the lighting designer, and other professionals from multiple fields worked closely as one team to make it happen. We really hope that this property can offer a new style to travelers to Japan and help the culture of serviced apartment to be more popular in Japan.

特注照明で儚くおぼろげな光を表現 Lighting fixtures custom-ordered to represent ephemeral and indistinct light 客室や共用部に利用した2,000台以上の ダウンライトは、照射範囲をカス タムできるもの。見た目を統一し ながら用途に応じて調整することで、 空間の調和を崩さず光を変化させる ことができます。エクステリアの 行燈照明は照明デザイナー黒瀬氏の イメージを実現するために、ゼロから 特注品を開発しました。和の雰囲気の あるおぼろげな光を表現するために、 複数のカバー素材をテストし、控え めながらも空間を引き立てる照明に 仕上げました。

Over two thousands downlighting fixtures are used in the guest rooms and the common space, and their illumination ranges can be customized. While their appearance is standardized, they can be adjusted depending on how they are used, which makes it possible to change the lights without damaging the harmony of the space. As a part of the exterior design, Andon (a paper-covered lantern) style lighting fixtures were designed out of scratch and custom-ordered to reflect an image that the lighting designer held. To represent Japanese-style, indistinct lights, multiple cover materials were tested to furnish understated lights that still enhance the space.

光の模様が照明の可能性を広げる The patterns of light expand the potential of lighting 共用部のダウンライトと客室廊下の ゴボライトを担当。特注のゴボライトは、 カーペットの模様とマリアージュする よう、ひらひらと桜が舞い散るイメージの 光となっています。アルミプレート に緻密な模様を刻み込み表現した光 は、客室側から廊下側へとグラデー ションを描いたように映し出されます。 求められたのは「主張しない光」。光の 模様がありながらも、ドアノブに 触れた際にふっと目に入るような 控えめな佇まいは、人々の心を豊か にすることでしょう。

I designed the downlighting in the common space and the gobo lighting at the hallways between the guest rooms. The custom-ordered gobos emit lights to show an image of cherry petals fluttering down as they are married with the design of the carpet. The elegantly cutout design on the aluminum plates is reflected on the gradation of light that is projected from the guest room side to the hallway side. "Non-overstated lighting". This is what was requested. When guests put their hands on the door knobs and catch sight of the understated lights regardless of the lighting patterns, we expect that they would start feeling a sense of inner wealth.

1% の差が光の表情を変える The booth has its own パブリックスペースの調光システムは、 ひとまとまりの照明器具を動かす回路 制御ではなく、1灯ずつ微調整できる 個別制御を導入。朝、昼、夜それぞれの シーンに適した光を演出しました。 特にこだわったのはエントランス ロビー。木のスリットに合わせて 間 接 照 明 を 伸びやかに表現すること で、建築と光の調和を生み出しています。 全体のバランスに応じて1%単位で 照度を調整した照明が生み出す表情の 違いを、ぜひお楽しみください。

In the public space, a dimming system is implemented to precisely adjust each light's brightness instead of a circuit control to affect a bundle of lighting fixtures. Lights can be produced in the most suitable ways for multiple scenes in the morning, at the noon, and at the night. Special attentions have been paid to the entrance lobby. The indirect lighting is matched with the wooden slit for the unconstrained expression of light. We hope that you will enjoy the expressional difference of the lights with their illuminance adjusted by 1% in accordance with the overall balance.

2 色のライトで空間を演出 Lights in two colors are used to produce a space エントランスの棚下照明は、コンパ クトでスリムな機材を採用し、ラグジ ュアリーな雰囲気の演出に貢献してい ます。最大63名まで収容可能な会議 スペースの照明は、電球色と蛍光色の 2種類を導入。2色を組み合わせること によって作られた照明は、シーンに 合わせた色味を表現することができ、 照明を切り替えるだけで別物のような 空間へと変貌させることが可能です。 会議や宴会など、様々なシーンで 利用されるからこそのこだわりを見せ ています。

For the shelf lighting at the entrance, compact and slim fixtures are used to contribute to the production of luxurious ambient. Two colors, incandescent-lamp color and fluorescent color, are employed as lighting colors for the conference space that accommodates up to sixty-three people. The lighting with the mixture of the two colors can give different tones in accordance with how the space is used.

Alternating the lighting tones can dramatically mutate the space. Since the space would be used for conference, banquet, and other purposes, we were very selective to decide the two-color lighting.

照明の裏側に隠された、唯一無二の職人技 The one and only craftmanship behind the lighting PMC株式会社は、技術、情報、人材、スケジュールなど、複雑に 絡み合うパーツを持ち前の手腕によってコーディネートし、Galaxy が誇る世界最大級のショーケースを完成へと導きました。 特にこだわったのが、まるで壁一面が発光しているかのような 特徴的な内部照明です。数百本にも及ぶLED照明が、まるで 一つの光のように輝かせるために、金属製のカバーを オリジナルで作成。そこに張るシートも既製品ではなく、 熟練の職人の技術が惜しみなく投入された専用のもの です。こうした細部へのこだわりを、ショーケース7 フロア分すべてで行っていくわけですから、感じるプレッシャーの 大きさやスケジュール調整の難しさは言葉では言い尽くす ことができません。しかし、真に素晴らしい照明とは、 見えない部分にこだわってこそ完成するもの。デザイナー をはじめ、メーカー、コーディネーター、現場など、 関 係 者 すべてが一体となって取り組んだからこそ、世界に 誇れる物件を完成させることができたと思います。

PMC Inc. has experience of coordinating complicatedly and mutually affecting components such as technique, information, human resource, and schedule by leveraging their inherent skills and ability to lead the world largest showcase which Galaxy is proud of to successful completion. We took special efforts for the impressive, internal lighting to make the entire wall look luminous. An original metallic cover was designed and created to turn several hundreds of LED light strips to emit a single beam of light. The sheet placed under that was not a commercially available product. It was custom-ordered with a plenty of technique generously given by skilled craftsmen. Because such meticulous attentions had to be paid to every single detail for seven floors of the showcase, the level of pressure received and the difficulty of schedule adjustment were very hard to explain. Truly excellent lighting can be completed only if even hidden parts are well considered and planned. All the stakeholders such as the designer, those who are from the manufacturer, the coordinator, and the field workforce worked as a single team, and that is why such a world-class property was completed.

ASTERISK Inc. is a company that programs controlling systems for lighting, audio, and visual, as well as provides services for design and installation. So far, we have been engaged in projects for various sites such as hotels, amusement facilities, stores, stages as a service provider for system design, programming, and installation. Lighting production may not be always smoothly done as lighting designers wish, due to currently available technologies or applied regulations. Therefore, we will leverage our nurtured experience and achievement to try to realize the ideal the lighting designers hold to the utmost degree, while we will explore all possible options to figure out an approach or a method to prevent installation from failing to propose an only and ultimate solution. Our flexibility allows ourselves to consistently execute all the tasks from the construction of a controlling system to installation. Because of a small group of our resources, our attentive follow-through service is possible. With such capabilities, we will do our best to actualize as many lighting designers' images as possible and to impress more customers.
