The combined company has facilities in Los Angeles, Memphis and the United Kingdom comprising of more than 200,000 sq. feet and more than 40,000 varieties of tyres and tubes. We support every segment of general aviation including light sport, helicopter, regional, corporate, military and commuter aircraft, as well as many types of rare and vintage aircraft.

Aero Classic - Aero Classic tyres are available for most G.A. aircraft, as well as a number of specialised aircraft and planes. The Aero Classic brand of tyres and tubes is the only brand actively developing and increasing its range for general aviation aircraft, with new focus on sport aircraft where aviation tyres have thus far not been available. Sizes range from 6" diameter tailwheels, up to 56" diameter C-130 inner tubes, from LSA to UAV, warbirds to Yaks, and everything in between. All-weather and diamond-tread pattern options are also available for various applications including vintage and classic aircraft, where pilots need updated and modernized versions of vintage tyres that have long since been discontinued.

Dunlop Aircraft Tyres - Dunlop Aircraft Tyres operates globally in the aircraft tyre market. Dunlop supports some GA applications, and is prevalent in regional jet, turboprop, narrow body and military markets. We stock the entire line of all Dunlop aircraft Tyres. Goodyear - Goodyear is the leading supplier of aircraft tyres worldwide, and they provide more applications for aircraft and helicopters, than any other aircraft tyre supplier. We have the largest stock of Goodyear Tyres, for any application.

More than 80% of all tyres in use with commercial airlines are retreads, and unbeknown to many, these are also available for the most popular general aviation sizes such as 5.00-5 and 6.00-6. In fact, many flight schools use only the “Monster” retread in their fleet. This not only saves them on initial cost of the tyre, but also extends the length of time before removal, saving a tremendous amount of money on maintenance and replacement costs, over a shorter wear duration new tyre. The “Monster” 6.00-6 is the overall value leader, with an impressive tread depth of .321, surpassing the tread depth of any 600-6 on the market. The cost savings for overhauled tyres are significant and provide the user premium grade tyres at the cost of a budget tyre. You can send us your worn tyres for retreading or buy them as outrights. We utilize Laser Shearography Interferometry NDT testing (www.desser.com/content/retreading.asp) on most of our retreaded tyres, as this method provides the best safety and quality analysis possible. From large jet transport retreads and program pricing, to a Cessna 172 nose tyre, we stock and supply them all.

Customers will now benefit from a greater range of competitively priced products, stocked within Europe, reducing shipping costs and speeding up delivery.

Michelin - This name is synonymous for producing tyres that give maximum performance, reliability and durability. We stock all of the Radial Air X tyres, and the complete line of bias-ply tyres and Airstop tubes in our warehouse locations. Specialty Tires of America - Manufacturers of the Air Trac, Air Hawk and Superhawk series of bias ply tyres. These are 100% made in the USA, and we stock all sizes and plies. Rapco/RFS - FAA-PMA approved brake components, pneumatic and de-ice products for GA, business/corporate and regional/commuter aircraft.

As the authorised distributors for all major tyre brands including Goodyear, Michelin, Dunlop, Condor, Specialty (McCreary), Aero Classic and other specialised metric and tailwheel tyres, Desser and Watts provide the largest breadth and depth in stock of tyres and tubes available in all market segments. In addition to aviation tyres, Watts is now stocking RFS and Rapco brake “hot stacks”, brake linings, discs, and other ancillary components centred on the landing gear area. Another key product line now being carried is Teledyne Gill batteries. Their new-technology “LT” batteries provide the greatest Ipr and Ipp power delivery throughout all temperatures, along with the best warranty of any aircraft battery on the market.

Teledyne GILL battery products - Considered the “Original Equipment Battery”, and used on commercial, private, and military aircraft. 300 km/hour in a luxurious ultralight - Functional test flights of the new Ultralight RISEN produced by Swiss Excellence Airplanes

(SEA), a Swiss company domiciled in the Ticino region of Switzerland, have been successfully completed. The performance of the RISEN opens up new avenues for private aviation, both for sport and business.

The RISEN is an Ultralight aircraft by category only and sharing with the conventional Ultralights, currently on the market, only approval and fuel consumption. The RISEN however, offers space, comfort and luxury in addition to performance characteristics which exceed and are in fact in many aspects considerably more superior than general aircrafts! These, in brief, are the credentials of the newest Ultralight on the market today. The RISEN was first unveiled to the public for the first time in April 2015 at AERO 2015 in Friedrichshafen /Germany. The RISEN, designed by Italian /Argentinian engineer Alberto Porto, is produced and assembled by SWISS EXCELLENCE AIRPLANES (SEA) in the Ticino region of Switzerland and thus combines Italian flair, as far as design features are concerned, together with Swiss precision for manufacturing and assembly of high quality products. To make it clear and to avoid any misunderstanding: the RISEN which will be presented in Friedrichshafen is NOT a prototype but as an aircraft which is available on the market right now!

From a construction point of view, RISEN is a two-seat low-wing aircraft with a V-tail and monocoque seamless fuselage design. It’s entirely made from carbon fibre and its structural sizing is based on JAR-VLA regulations, in fact a superior standard than that required of Ultralight aircrafts. The tools used to design the RISEN are tools normally used by the larger aircraftmanufacturers. The components therefore give the RISEN the extraordinary reliability and conventional behaviour in all flight conditions! Together with the exceptional performance characteristics including a stall indicated speed of less than 55 km/h due to the highly efficient flaps, a take-off/landing area of no more than 200 meters, on grass if necessary, gives the RISEN additional benefits over other Ultralights. The RISEN is equipped with a four-stroke Rotax 912 engine, 100 horse power, electric start, known for its reliability, and is fitted with standard bladder anti-crash fuel tanks, one per wing. The 93ft long fuselage departed from Bruntingthorpe early on the Sunday morning and arrived at Cosford shortly after 1.00pm. Transported on a low loader lorry, the route saw the aircraft pass along the M69, M6 and the M54 to Cosford, via the nearby village of Shifnal. In addition to the ducting and written document, Matthew also entered a piece into the Open Class category where entrants could submit an article of their own choice using any type of sheet metal. There were no restrictions on the design of the work piece or on the materials used, the only stipulation being that the piece uses sheet metal as the principal material. FAA STC for 5-blade Propeller on Beech A36 RR250

MT-Propeller President Gerd Muehlbauer says, the certification flight tests have shown, that the new propeller installation on the Beech A36 reduces ground roll & take-off distance over 50 ft obstacle by more than 10% and it increases climb performance by 3% and cruise performance by 2-4 kts. The propeller has approx. 4 kg (9 lb) less weight than the original 3-blade metal propeller. Due to the smaller diameter the MT-Propeller for the Beech A36 has more ground clearance for less FODs. The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reductions. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD.

CNR - Automatic Transmission TRDS Laser Alignment System There is a large global base of helicopters in service with a significant and accelerating growth of new-build helicopters being added to the market over the next 20 years. Key to helicopter manufacture and heavy maintenance is accurately aligning the helicopter’s transmission shafts. Current methods for doing this have barely changed in over 40 years, are manual and very time-consuming and require a considerable amount of the helicopter transmission to be removed from the airframe before the jigs and equipment can be fixed in position. These processes then rely on two aircraft technicians working in tandem to view and measure transmission shaft alignment. Typically these processes take approximately 1 man week per aircraft. The ATLAS system will accomplish this with one person only in approx. 5 hours – a 95% saving in man hours! ATLAS provides users with a significantly quicker, less labour intensive and far more accurate method of aligning helicopter transmission shafts than is currently available. This is key to the market as: New helicopter build rates accelerate there is a need for quicker build cycles by manufacturers. - In-service helicopter fleets grow and age there is an increasing requirement for larger numbers of repair and overhaul interventions at 3rd line maintenance where transmission systems are aligned. Budapest Airport restores direct link to Birmingham

Budapest Airport has announced the restoration of a direct link to Birmingham Airport with its largest carrier, Wizz Air. Supporting the expansion of the airline’s home-base, and continuing Budapest’s ever-increasing route network, the carrier has confirmed the commencement of its twiceweekly service from 15 September.

Avinco once again proved its ability to perform in spite of a slow global market, with 18 helicopter transactions achieved in the first semester 2015, of which 4 sales from its own portfolio. Despite a challenging market in the first half of 2015, Avinco boasted aircraft sales across most regions and segments. This yet again strengthens Avinco’s position as worldwide market leader in the second hand helicopter trading segment, and comforts its strategic decision to expand to key markets such as South East Asia and Russia. 2015 sees the further development of the VIP segment for Avinco, offering VIP Helicopters to private owners / corporate operators worldwide. Serena Hawkins who comes from the VVIP & private Jet markets now heads VIP sales for Avinco. Avinco have already closed 2 VIP transactions this year and are currently offering very attractive VIP assets such as a EC155B1, EC145 (Mercedes Benz) and EC130T2. Avinco CEO , François Gautier, says “We are actually very optimistic for 2015 despite the current market conditions in the oil and gas and mining segment. Our diversification strategy and global presence are paying off, and we have very promising prospects for the second part of 2015 especially in the VIP segment”.

Operator Skycam Helicopters is one of very few in France to fly helicopters built outside the country. Products from the Airbus factory at Marignane (and its various predecessors over the years) have always found greater favour with operators right across France, and indeed Skycam do have two AS350B2 and one EC130T2. Skycam, however, have gone against the trend and recently added a fourth AgustaWestland AW109SP GrandNew to their fleet. The latest example of the type is F-HMPB, serial 22340, the 140th GrandNew. A further 40 of the very similar military-spec “Nexus” development model takes the combined production total to date of around 180. At the end of June, Skycam flew their new GrandNew and sister ship F-HOLY to London Heliport in the UK’s capital city. Skycam also operate F-GSNS and F-HIDE. Airbus Helicopters’ highly innovative H160 flew for the first time in Marignane on Saturday, 13 June, shortly after beginning its ground runs end of May. The aircraft flew for about 40 minutes in ground effect that allowed the flight test team to check the overall behavior of the aircraft and to verify the measurements. “The first flight was very promising in terms of stability, vibrations, and sound levels,” said Olivier Gensse, the flight test pilot, upon landing the aircraft. The flight test campaign has now been launched and the next flights will begin to open the flight envelope progressively.

Airbus Helicopters showcased several ground-breaking research projects and new helicopter innovations for environment-friendly technologies during June at the Paris Air Show. These projects are part of the company’s mid and long term research and development strategy to provide innovative solutions to reduce operating and maintenance costs while improving environmental protection, safety, quality and performance. The H160 is displayed on Airbus Group’s Eco Way as the rotorcraft will be 15 to 20% more energy efficient thanks to Turbomeca’s new generation Arrano engines with reduced fuel consumption combined with a use of innovative and lighter materials including composites, and aerodynamics optimization. The CO2 emissions by H160 will be 20% less per passenger compared to current range.Sound levels will be reduced by up to 50 % compared to the current range and 70% below the regulation. This is mainly thanks to advanced Airbus Helicopters sound reduction technologies such as the Blue Edge® rotor blades and Fenestron®. Airbus Helicopters is testing, in support of Clean Sky’s Green Rotorcraft initiative, a new kind of High-Compression Piston Engine, able to function with commonly used fuel kerosene, thanks to a specific injection hardware with the objective to bring benefits such as lower fuel consumption, reduction of emissions, longer range with the same fuel consumption, lower maintenance costs and improved helicopter performance in hot & high conditions.

Over two years from launch, Bell sells first 407GT Bell has confirmed its milestone sale and delivery of the first Bell 407GT to BBM Inc. to operate in the Middle BBM Inc is to use the Bell 407GT light attack helicopter for missions East and Africa. Czech Police order first Bell 412EPI in Europe Bell Helicopter,, announced towards the end of June, the sale of the first Bell 412EPI in Europe to the Czech Bell and Czech Police signing. Police. The helicopter will be used for search and rescue missions and is expected to be delivered by the end of the year. Security chiefs from 70 countries visit Russian Helicopters’ Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant On 24-26 June, representatives of 70 countries’ security agencies and a delegation from the UN had the chance to learn more about the products Mi-171Sh. that are made at Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, a Russian Helicopters’ company (part of State Corporation Rostec). Security Council secretaries, ministers, presidential aides and prime ministers responsible for security issues, security service chiefs and other senior security sector personnel, gathered to discuss live issues in national, regional, and international security. Secretary of the Russian Federation’s Security Council Nikolai Patrushev took part in the meeting. The delegates at Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant were shown models of Mi-8/17 helicopters, and to view one of the world’s most popular medium military transport helicopters, the Mi-171Sh, on static display. This helicopter boasts a host of features designed to enhance safety. It is used in peacekeeping missions, anti-terror, law enforcement and surveillance operations, missions to counter narco-trafficking, search and rescue missions and on patrols. Operators report these helicopters perform well in mountainous areas, in extreme temperatures, and arctic and tropical climates. New Sheffield hospital helipad construction takes off

Work on a new helipad for a Sheffield hospital has finally taken off after years of fundraising. Lord Mayor of Sheffield Talib Hussain was on hand to officially mark the start of building work on the Northern General Hospital’s brand new helipad, which hospital bosses say will save lives.

AgustaWestland announced at the end of June, that Atlantic Airways has signed a contract for two AW139 intermediate AgustaWestland AW139 of twin helicopters. Atlantic Airways.

Air Zermatt receives the first H130 configured for aerial work

The aircraft will be used to perform SAR (Search and Rescue) missionsand scheduled passenger transportation within the Faroe Islands. The helicopters are expected to bedelivered late 2015 and in spring 2016 respectively, and will replace two B412s. This latest contract marks the entrance of AgustaWestland helicopters into the Faroe Islands and further strengthens the already significant presence of the AW139 in Northern Europe, where it is used by a number of government and private customers in many countries to carry out a range of missions including passenger transport, search and rescue, emergency medical service, offshore transport, law enforcement and military duties.
