We are factory-appointed by Cessna, Cirrus, Diamond and also offer complete maintenance packages for Piper and Hawker Beechcraft. As an authorised Cirrus Service Centre, we are now performing maintenance under the Cirrus Aircraft CMX worldwide service program.
This is not only cost-saving but gives the customer peace of mind knowing Multiflight warrant and support all works carried out.

We offer: • Continental Motors engine repair, overhaul and shock loads. • Lycoming engine repair, overhaul and shock loads. • Bendix Magneto, Champion Slick Magneto repairs, overhauls and inspections.

Design
Multiflight has been carrying out repairs and modifications at all levels for over 15 years using external design houses and the EASA Minor Change procedure. Recruiting highly experienced design staff and building on the skills and experience of our existing engineering department we have now expanded our capabilities to include EASA Part 21J Design Organization Approval (EASA 21J.483). We are able to provide services for all types of Transport, Commuter, Normal and Utility category aircraft certified to CS23 or CS25 or equivalent codes and Small and Large rotorcraft certified to CS27 and CS29. Our capability covers Minor changes and Minor repairs under our approval or Major changes via EASA STC procedure. Capability can also be provided for FAA registered aircraft via FAA DER system.
For over 20 years we have consistently and effectively provided our customers: aircraft owners, flying schools and operators with Cessna, Continental and Lycoming products. Our strong relationship direct with manufacturers makes us the preferred choice for our clients to get the support for the products they require. Our stock holding at our facility is available to UK and most European customers on a timed next-day delivery service, and international customers on a two-day service.

It’s hard to overstate the importance of Farnborough when it comes to Britain’s Harrier T.4 XW934, which is currently aviation history. being repainted, hence the different colour paint on the nose. Samuel Cody made the first ever powered flight from the north east Hampshire town in 1908, Farnborough’s airshows over the years are the stuff of legends. Today, the airfield is still very much alive with aviation development work and commercial flying. A fine museum dedicated to the airfield’s proud heritage is run by the Farnborough Air Sciences Trust (FAST), and is highly recommended. Following an engine-run on Tuesday, on Wednesday afternoon 15 July, the Snipe and Albatros flew. This was a test prior to the Shuttleworth “Best of British” Airshow at Old Warden on Saturday 18 July. At around 1630hrs, the planes were wheeled-out, and then first the Albatros, followed by the Snipe, took to the air. They were flying around until 20:30hrs sounding superb, and looking fantastic, especially with some nice topsides! The first phase of Piper Pilot allows aviators to file their flight plans and receive full en route navigation on an interactive map. Connected with the certified avionics, Piper Pilot operates with a user logic that is already familiar to Garmin users, working in accompaniment with the Garmin avionics suite. Alpha Systems AOA system - FAA accepted across GA - Selected by Mitsubishi for MU-2 Alpha Systems AOA announced that all its AOA (angle of attack) systems, covering six models in single and dual displays for pressurized and unpressurized airplanes (24 models in all) have been accepted for installation industry-wide under the requirements of 14 CFR 21.8(d).

Concorde is well known for Part of the Concorde designing “Drop In Replacements” Battery RG24 series, One of Concorde’s many heated RG24-11M. battery models has been approved for installation on the Dassault 7X using Concorde’s RG-390E/KH heated battery assembled with Heater Control Unit HCU-7X with STC ST04185AT.
The heated 24V, 28 Ah battery is a drop in replacement for the original equipment battery. Although the conversion does not increase battery capacity or change battery chemistry, Concorde’s RG390ESH/7X is readily available throughout distribution and is a more economical solution than the original equipment sealed lead acid battery. Also having received TSO authorization in 2015 are Concorde RG-380E/53 battery series (24V, 53 Ah, RG-332 (24V, 44 Ah) and RG-380E/40D (24V, 38 Ah) batteries. Certified installations are in the works to follow in the near future for these new battery offerings. RG-CIS25, Concorde’s AGM sealed lead acid replacement for Russian part number 20нкън25-уз (20NKBN-25-U3) has received TSO authorization and FAA PMA certification as the original equipment batteryon the PZL Mielec M2805 Skytruck. SAFETY Daher partners with the Southern AeroMedical Institute for high-altitude hypoxia training A realistic high-altitude chamber programme for pilots of high-performance aircraft is now available through a partnership of Daher and the Southern AeroMedical Institute (SAMI), with this teaming announced at the recent AirVenture 2015 aviation gathering in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. By equipping SAMI’s automated hyper / hypobaric chamber in Melbourne, Florida with a fixed-based TBM 850 cockpit simulator, this new program will help pilots better understand the dangers of hypoxia – or altitude sickness – conditions while operating highperformance airplanes. Incorporated in the TBM 850 simulator are a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit and Zodiac Aerospace oxygen mask systems, offering the aviation industry’s most realistic training available today. The programme consists of two hours of lecture on the subject of “slow onset hypoxia” by neurologist Dr. Paul Buza, an hour-long pre-flight orientation with the cockpit simulator, along with one hour of simulated flight with the TBM 850 training device in hypoxia-creating high-altitude conditions, followed by a one-hour post-flight review of oxygen saturation profiles. Upon completion of the training, participants receive a high-altitude chamber certificate, a flight training booklet, an FAA/Industry Training Standards (FITS) certificate, a logbook sign-off and a video recorded during the simulated flight. Lockheed Martin has purchased Sikorsky Helicopters for $9 billion. The actual price Lockheed will pay is reduced to around $7.1 billion due to account tax benefits as a result of the acquisition. The purchase still subject to regulatory approvals, but is expected to be completed by the end of the fourth quarter of 2015, or early in the first quarter of 2016.

Sikorsky’s parent company United Technologies Corporation had said earlier the year that following a strategic portfolio review they were looking at different options for its helicopter unit. Following the review, UTC found that Sikorsky’s five to six percent annual growth lagged behind the average 10 percent annual growth of other companies under its umbrella. For Lockheed Martin, the acquisition gives the company a foothold in the helicopter market, something that is missing from its diverse defence portfolio. Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland announced mid-July that it had signed a contract for the sale of ten AW189 commercial helicopters to RNAircraft, a subsidiary of the oil company Rosneft. The contract foresees that the new helicopters will be used for transportation purposes. Delivery of the aircraft is expected between 2015 and 2017. Moreover, as already set out in the framework agreement signed in December 2014 and with the involvement of Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Rostec corporation, Rosneft plans to order further helicopters by 2025, for a total of up to 160 units. The parties also reached an agreement for the progressive restructuring of HeliVert, a 50-50 Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland and Russian Helicopters joint venture, which foresees the future participation of Rosneft, worth 30% of the shares. Subsequently, shares in HeliVert will be redistributed as follows: 40% to FinmeccanicaAgustaWestland, 30% to Russian Helicopters, 30% to Rosneft. Fimeccanica-AgustaWestland announced today the new generationAW169 helicopter has been issued with type certification by theEuropean Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on 15 July 2015. Delivery of the first production helicopters to customers will now commence. AgustaWestland has achieved EASA type certification less than five years after the AW169 programme launch. This achievement has been made possible also due to the strong collaboration between the EASA and AgustaWestland teams. With the AW169, AgustaWestland has responded to market demand for a new generation versatile light-intermediate twin-engine helicopter and has achieved its aim of greatly reducing the time to market, whilst meeting the
most stringent operational and safety requirements set by the certification authorities and by the market. More than 150 AW169 helicopters have been ordered by customers around the world to date, including framework contracts and options, for a wide range of applications including executive/corporate transport, air ambulance, law enforcement, offshore transport and utility roles. Designed with inherent dual-use capabilities, the AW169 is also ideally suited for the wide scope of parapublic and government applications and will be able to meet military and naval requirements. The AW169 4.6 tonne helicopter is the first all new aircraft in its weight category to enter the market in more than 30 years, setting new certification and safety standards and marking the operational readiness of the whole AW Family. The first units will be delivered from the Vergiate final assembly line in Italy. AgustaWestland’s Yeovil plant in UK plays a key role in the production of rotor blades and the tail rotor transmission system. The rescue was made by the Canadian Coast Guard ship Pierre Radisson after the crew spotted a red flare.
Ananov said the raft provided his only means of shelter as he waited to be rescued, a prospect that proved difficult with thick fog and a low ceiling in the area. At one point he fired one of his three flares as a Canadian military Hercules aircraft flew overhead. “It was absolutely useless because they couldn’t see anything,” he said. The search effort included two Hercules aircraft, and a AW101 Cormorant helicopter. A Transport Canada patrol plane and a fishing boat in the area are also assisting. The Canadian Forces Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax took the lead role in the task, and the project support team were prepared for the worst. The rescue was made by the Canadian Coast Guard ship Pierre Radisson after the crew spotted a red flare. The ship is now routing back to Iqaluit with the pilot aboard, having been picked up 200 miles out on the 500 mile leg to Greenland.
Russian pilot Sergey Ananov was most of the way to completing a solo circumnavigation in a Robinson R22. He had refuelled in Iqaluit, Nunavut, and was on a 500 mile leg to Nuuk in Greenland when contact was lost. He was reported overdue at 3.20pm Eastern time on Saturday 25th July. Weather conditions were hazardous with freezing temperatures and fog. Ananov said his helicopter went down after one of two rubber belts leading from the engine to the rotor exploded. He said he was able to partially pull on his survival suit and scramble into a small life raft before the aircraft sank in a matter of about 30 seconds. It was then a short, cold swim to an ice floe.

The RPAS ‘Open Category’ in EASA’s Concept of Operations for Drones In a new position paper, ECA outlines the position of Europe’s professional pilots on the standards and rules necessary for the safe use of drones in EASA’s ‘Open’ category. Acknowledging the potential this technology has for innovation and benefit to society, it is absolutely critical that the technology is introduced safely, in particular with regard to existing manned aviation. A future accident involving drones in which people are seriously harmed will do far more damage to the industry’s development than carefully thought out, effective, efficient regulation. It must always be the case that real people, whether in the air or on the ground, have their safety prioritised over the ability or right to operate a drone. It must be born in mind that most drones in the Open category will be mass market consumer products, may have significantly different capabilities in a few years, and any regulation needs to deal with this. This cannot happen without proper risk assessment, especially of midair collision risk. Design requirements for the physical performance capability of drones in the Open category There is a compromising lack of scientific and engineering research on the effects of drone collisions with aircraft. This must be conducted as a

This has Competition Drones a “Parrot Drone swarm!” now happened and drone model aircraft are officially part of CIAM following the publication of a CIAM draft rule document for sportive and recreational activities with drones and especially multi-rotors (rotorcraft with more than two rotors). CIAM is now identifying correspondents in a maximum of FAI member countries in order to establish an informal CIAM group tasked to find out the best way to spread this sport internationally; to discuss topics such as the impact of Civil Aviation Authorities Regulations on drone model aircraft activities and to evaluate the CIAM draft rule document based on feedback from events organised with drones.

Aerobatics The objective is to modify the draft rules as necessary taking into account potential for growth, ease of organisation as well as media and spectator friendliness. In short, all that is needed to guarantee highly exciting, easy-to-follow and enjoyable competitions for the pilots and the spectators alike. Indeed, CIAM’s intention is to be the main actor in the development of drone competitions and a point of reference for all the event organisers. With this purpose, a new section has been created on the FAI website where visitors can find official information about drones and download the CIAM draft rule document for events. In the Freestyle Aerobatics contest, flights are going to be scored on a series of criteria which include difficulty, harmony, creativity, precision and safety presentation for both the Freestyle and the Music Freestyle rounds. Recreational Events These events are going to be based on exciting and challenging flight tasks to be completed by rotorcraft or fixed wing (aeroplane or glider) drone model aircraft in a given time. They include deck landing, ground targets to find, speed, tunnel, slalom and pylon racing, to name a few. Some of them are adapted for FPV flight. Drone model aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) To precisely determine what drones and UAV's are was the first task carried out by the temporary CIAM Working Group chaired in 2014 by Bruno Delor. Indeed, both are aircraft that do not carry human beings, so what differentiates them? Drones are aircraft of limited dimensions which are used for competitions, sport or recreational purposes. UAV's (or RPA's) however, are aerodynes (aircraft heavier than air) with a means of propulsion and are used for scientific research for commercial, governmental or military purposes. Germany’s Lower Saxony Police to receive two EC135P2e, replacing 365C Dauphins Lower Saxony Police – or Neidersachsen Polizei in local language – have two new Airbus EC135P2e helicopters on order. The first aircraft was due for delivery in June, with the second following in the fourth quarter of 2015. Both will be based at Langenhagen International Airport in Hannover.
Very little role equipment is visible from early photos of the aircraft concerned, with just a loudhailer system visible mounted centrally under the cabin, and long steps fitted halfway up the skids which would be suitable for mounting IR turret, searchlight, etc. Contract value is around 22 Million Euros. The two new helicopters replace two very old SA365C Dauphins, registered D-HOPE and D-HOPQ, which were introduced to the fleet in 1979 and 1980. Garmin Introduces VIRB XE Aviation Bundle Garmin is excited to announce a premier, aviationspecific addition to the VIRB XE action camera family from the experts in aviation action cameras, providing several Garmin VIRB XE with Prop Filter. new accessories and unique features tailored to capturing rich, high definition footage in-flight. VIRB XE features gyro-based stabilization and can receive advanced attitude metrics from select Garmin products such as Flight Stream, while providing up to two hours of HD video recording on a single charge. Built-in GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and ANT+ combine to provide pilots withadded functionality and enhanced connectivity with a variety of Garmin products. The VIRB XE Aviation Bundle provides pilots with all they need to begin capturing exciting in-flight HD video in a single package. The Aviation Bundle features a stereo headset audio cable, so pilot-to-pilot communications and air traffic control transmissions may be embedded within the video. For easy installation, a slide-on prop filter is also provided to eliminate propeller distortion created while filming video in-flight or capturing high quality still photos. With G-Metrix, VIRB XE utilizes internal sensors such as the high-sensitivity GPS, accelerometer and gyroscope to capture even more performance data. Additionally, VIRB XE is Connext-capable so aviation-specific data can be received from the G3X Touch flight display or Flight Stream 110/210 and then overlaid on the video. Cross-product compatibility with VIRB XE, D2 Bravo, and Garmin Pilot offer pilots more functionality, which comes with the same reliability and superiority pilots trust with their Garmin avionics. The launch of the Caernarfon civilian UK search and rescue helicopter service, which replaces the former RAF Valley rescue service, was marked with a ceremony held at the town’s airport. Bristow Helicopters Ltd is operating the search and rescue helicopter service for the UK on behalf of HM Coastguard. The Caernarfon base went live on 1 July and has already responded to calls.The base was officially opened by Richard Parkes, director of maritime operations at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and was attended by representatives from the RAF 22 Squadron. Mr Parkes said: “HM Coastguard has been providing search and rescue helicopter services in northern Scotland and southern England for over 30 years. “Today I am immensely proud to be welcoming our first civilian base to Wales. German Federal Police successfully introduce ProPilots‘ training software
technology as well as a feel-good atmosphere. The training for learners and experienced pilots is made easier by the introduction of the web-based training software from ProPilots. The software is based on 3D animated videos as well as specialist texts from experts worldwide and detailed images. This allows you to present very realistic emergency situations in online simulations too and train for them. The pilots develop a completely new confidence of action because they can practice as often as they want with the aid of the computer. This is a perfect complement to using flight simulators.
The German Federal Police created a modern environment through the extension to the aviation school in Hangelar near Bonn in 2014 - and now the instructors have started with even more modern media when it comes to training content. The German Federal Police have introduced the training software from ProPilots to train their pilots. The aviation school with its 1,230 square metres next to three flight simulators for different helicopter models gives its learners the most modern
The training software plans recurring mental training in the areas of emergency situations and Type Rating Tests thus also providing manual skills and reactions. The Type Rating Test is extended with innovative ideas e.g. realistically presented emergency situations in the cockpit or interactive questions which the user has to answer by clicking on the mouse or via a touchscreen. This form of training is lastingly efficient, far removed from conventional learning materials and allows a realistic experience of emergency situations - the basic conditions for correct actions in extreme situations.
