WAVwrx minis is a sub-set, that is part of an ongoing series of Collages. These works are the first group that was done smaller in scale, hence "minis" (4x4 inches).
The WAVwrx catalogue is a study in abstraction, a record of 'Visual Sampling' and synthesis. It relates to: energy, sound, music, vibrations, and frequencies.
It applies visual art/design principles (color, shape, form, space, line, value/intensity, ) to explore interpretations of sound and music as static and moving waveforms. The series involves interplay with other principles of art and music theories, such as: pattern, rhythm, compositional arrangement, and movement.
The cards are cut from old, 12-inch record/album covers. They are collaged on top of with various found papers, sourced periodicals, and packaging.
The goal is to display a body of work, create/develop a visual language where viewing and listening interact and share through exchange.
*This collection is missing #2 and exceeds the WAVwrx standard 100 edition set.*
