Is That So? The Zen master Hakuin was praised by his neighbors as one living a pure life. A beautiful Japanese girl whose parents owned a food store lived near him. Suddenly, without any warning, her parents discovered she was with child. This made her parents very angry. She would not confess who the man was, but after much harassment at last named Hakuin.

You have three possibilities to get there: 1. Drive by car to: Arendseer Straße 4, 39606 Osterburg 2. Travel by train to the train station in Osterburg; from there it is a short walk of approx. 30 minutes (2.2km) 3. Meet us in Leipzig and travel with us together to the sports school When you register for participation, please tell us your preferred way of arrival, so that we can provide you with further information for your travel.
Registration If you want to attend the festival, send us an email with the number of participants in your group and your preferred way of arrival until 1st of April, 2014. Since we need to book the rooms at the venue in advance, a preliminary payment of the fee for the event is required. We will send you the account data for the money transfer in our answer to your registration. Cancelation of your participation is possible until 1st of May, 2014, repay of the participation fee of course included. Contact

WonHwaDo came to Latvia (in 2013)! Coming back from summer camp in Slovakia I got the inspiration to open WonHwaDo club in Riga and now I’m happy to announce that on WHD map we have one more country - Latvia, where we’re practicing WonHwaDo with a few people and looking for new members!
My story of opening new WHD country
In 2006 I went to Korea again for 2 months of trainings together with my teacher Aistis and friend Danas. During that trip Danas and I had got red belts. When we came back to in Lithuania, we started to help with training organization. That days we had about hundred students in Lithuania in 3 different training places. In the end of 2007 I got trauma and had operation on my knee (meniscus), and unfortunately I had to stop my active WHD life, but WHD was alive in my mind all that time. In 2012, receiving a short message on Facebook about possibility to train in Korea I made very quick decision. Collected money and third time
I’ve started my WonHwaDo way in 2003, when Aistis Vaicekauskas came back from Korea and opened his club in Vilnius (Lithuania). That time I wasn’t strong physically and thought that martial arts are just about fighting (which I didn’t like absolutely). Through Aistis, who is very deep person, was able to inspire me with beauty of WonHwaDo movements and it’s philosophy.

So I started to train. In 2005 I went to Korea for 4 weeks of trainings, where I had chance to learn from Master Kim Kook Sun and had met Great Grand Master Han Bong Hi. That time grand master told to me “Jaro, you will become master and WonHwaDo leader in Lithuania”. I didn’t believe (I had green belt that time), but now, after 8 years I feel that he was right, just country is different ;)

After that trip, I got a new apartment and opened Dojang there. Soon I've got students so WonHwaDo reborn in Vilnius (Aistis is now living in small Lithuanian town Ĺ iauliai). Living in Dojang is really awesome experience! I recommend this to each unmarried WHD instructor ;)
On summer 2013 I had one more big change in my life, I got married and moved to Riga where my wife came from. Right after honey moon we went to Slovakia to Master Jan’s summer camp (. And so it happened. New inspiration. New WHD country. Welcome to our club! :)

Lunar New Year 2014: What Does the Year of the Horse Mean?
It is believed the animals in the Chinese zodiac calendar originated from the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD), during which they were used to count years in same way as the modern Christian calendar. The Chinese Zodiac, known as Sheng Xiao, is based on a 12-year cycle and each year in that cycle is related to an animal sign. These animal signs are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. Each animal is associated with an "earthly branch" such as fire, water, metal or wood. As it was observed that there were 12 full moons in one year, the number 12 is used to divide years and times of the day. What type of people are born on the year of the horse? Those born within these years are recognised as energetic, bright and intelligent. This kind of person is sometimes referred to a "Qianli Ma" - a horse that covers a thousand li a day (one li is equivalent to 500 metres). It is believed those born in the year of the horse have excellent communication skills and enjoy being in the limelight. In general, it is suggested that they are cheerful, popular, talented and enjoy entertaining. They are associated with success and cannot stand failure. What are their weaknesses? Constraint is said to be absent in people born on the year of the horse. While they are believed to be talented, they are impatient and hot-blooded about everything. Failure can result in pessimism. The year of the horse is associated with people who are bad at managing their finances and pursue high profile careers. They pride themselves on being independent are rarely take advice from others, and have frequent bouts of bad temper. What will the year of the horse bring? For those born on the year of the horse, they will encounter the Year of Birth (Benming Nian). It is believed they will offend Taisui, the god in charge of fortune, so their finances may fluctuate. In terms of career, it is advised to keep the peace between colleagues. For those not born on a horse year, the year ahead will bring health and prosperity. It is said to be an excellent time to travel, as the next 12 months will bring good luck. You are advised to mingle with the locals, savour authentic cuisine and discover somewhere you have never been before.
