TERMS Charter rates are usually based on Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA) terms and include the hire of the yacht along with its crew, crew food and the yacht’s insurance. All other operating expenses (otherwise knows as the Advanced Provisioning Allowance, or APA) are the charterer’s responsibility, and may include but are not limited to: guests’ food and beverages; fuel for the main engines, generators and tenders; dockage, port and harbor dues; communication costs, etc., unless otherwise stated. The APA is estimated to be approximately 35% of the charter rate; however this can vary depending on the charterers’ preferences. We will provide an estimated percentage to cover all costs which will be due at least 30 days prior to your charter in order for the crew to fully provision prior to your embarkation. The Captain will keep a detailed report of the accounts and expenditures, together with their receipts, which can be shown to the charterer at any time during the charter as requested. If the APA does not cover the expenditures, the charterer will be responsible to fulfill the outstanding payment prior to departure. Any outstanding funds from the APA will be returned to the charterer in local currency, together with the expense report, upon disembarkation. Local sales taxes may be applicable to your charter depending on your cruising destination. We will include this information as it applies to yachts in each location. Provisions will be purchased directly from local markets, supermarkets, and specialty stores; however there may be times the Captain will request the assistance of a local maritime agency to assist with premium port bookings, ground transfers, and procurement of specialty food and beverage items. Any charges incurred due to these services will be reflected in your account. All information provided in the presentation is believed to be correct but cannot be guaranteed. Should you wish to have a specific water toy and/or item on board for your charter, please contact us for further assistance. The use of personal water craft may be restricted in certain cruising areas and may require special licenses. Please note many yachts are on the market for sale. Should a yacht sell prior to your charter, it is our responsibility to find you a yacht of similar or better quality for your charter. Trip Cancellation Insurance can also be purchased for a nominal fee. We would be more than happy to provide an estimated quote prior to signature of the charter agreements for your consideration. Several yachts require a nanny to assist with children under the age of 14. Please let us know should this be a concern with your charter party, as we will ensure we provide yachts that are more family friendly. A crew gratuity is given at the sole discretion of the charterer. We usually recommend a gratuity between 10 – 20% of the charter rate provided you are satisfied with the service you receive while on board. We would be more than happy to discuss this further at your convenience and answer any questions you may have regarding gratuities.
