Completing ‘Getting Ready For’ packs In preparation for the start of term all new students starting in September are required to complete homework over the summer for each of their subjects which should be ready to hand in at your first lesson from Monday 14th September. Please note that there is no Getting Ready For pack for the StepUp programme. Click HERE to find all of the ‘Getting Ready For’ packs. What to do on GCSE results day Thursday 20th August 2020

1. Please enter your actual grades onto Application Tracker, click HERE and enter your grades under the tab – Existing Qualifications. 2. If you are concerned that you have not met the course entry requirements for your chosen courses call the GCSE telephone hotline 01903 275755 which will be available from 9 am - 4 pm on Thursday 20th August. click HERE for details of course entry requirements.

What you need to prepare for your enrolment & college induction Week commencing 7th September

Our aim is to hold enrolment and induction for new students at the college week commencing 7th September 2020. Students will be put in two groups, A & B. This is to minimise the total number of students on-site at any time. You will be advised of your individual schedule for the week via email at the beginning of September.

The schedule for the week will look like this, w/c 7th September. Monday 7th

Group A induction

Tuesday 8th

Group B induction

Wednesday 9th am Group A enrolment Wednesday 9th pm Group B enrolment Friday 11th

Timetables issues to students

Enrolment is about reviewing your offer in light of your actual GCSE results and confirming the courses you will be studying. You will also have the opportunity to apply for Sports Academies, and the Aspire programme, if you’ve not done so already.

Enrolment You will be required to bring the following four things with you to your enrolment appointment on the 9th September 2020. A copy of your GCSE results > For most of you this will be a photograph or scan of the print-out or email you’ll receive from school on the 20th August 2020. Make sure you include all qualifications you have achieved, including BTEC, OCR or DIDA results and any certificates or results from previous years. Valid proof of ID >

We must see the original document of one of the following: birth certificate, in-date passport or if applicable, a letter from the Home Office to demonstrate you have the right to remain.

A local trip parental consent form > This form, valid for your time at college must be signed by your parent/carer to give on-going consent for local (Sussex) trips. Your enroller will look at your offer in light of your actual results to check you meet the entry requirements for your courses or if applicable to discuss other options should you not meet course entry requirements. Induction Your induction day will include the following: > Welcome from the Principal, Paul Riley, Vice Principal, Ben Frier. > Learning how to make the most of the college IT systems. > Information about the support services available to all students. > The issue of your college ID badge for which you will have your photo taken! > Learn how to get involved in enrichment sessions on Fridays and learn more about the role of the Student Union and how they represent the needs of students and how you can volunteer for various roles. Fees & Charges Please read the full details of the fees and charges associated with starting at college as payments are required to be paid once you have enrolled. Key information include: > The following academies and academic courses have fees associated with them for equipment, kit, trips, etc: Health and Social Care, Sport, Visual Arts & Performing Arts.

Learning Support Grant The Learning Support Grant is the name of the financial assistance scheme provided by the Chichester College Group. Â This grant can provide you with: > Help with travel costs. > Help with equipment, books or resources costs. > Contribution towards childcare costs. > Help to pay UCAS admin fees. > Contribution towards enrichment activities linked to your course. Further information about the scheme is provided here. CLICK HERE TO APPLY You will need you student reference number to apply, which you can find by logging on to Application Tracker. We have tried to make applying as simple as possible, but it will involve filling in online forms, providing evidence and telling us about your financial situation. We will then make an assessment based on your personal circumstances.

When will you get your timetable? Your individual timetable will be issued on Friday 11th September.

What does the college day look like? Lessons start every day, Monday - Thursday at 8.30am with one exception which is Tuesday mornings where lessons start at 11am. There are three teaching sessions a day and each lesson is 120 minutes with a 10 minute break included. You will not be in lessons in every teaching session and your individual timetable will reect this. To give you an understanding of the college day here is an outline of the teaching sessions. Full details of the timetable for Fridays will be advised once you enrol as a student.

Teaching starts Monday 14th September 2020 In line with the latest government guidance, we are eager to return to delivering education on site to all students from September. We have developed different models to respond to the different possible circumstances in September including full on site delivery and a blended model combining on site teaching and remote learning. We will email students and parents/carer at the start of September to confirm the arrangements we will be putting in place. Having only one year group for the first year, we are in an enviable position of being able to provide a safe and fully functioning learning environment for all our students and staff.

Getting involved in your college In addition to your academic studies we actively encourage all students to get involved in as many enrichment activities as possible to ensure you develop your skills and experience ready for the next step in your journey after college, whether that’s into employment, an apprenticeship or university.
