Completing ‘Getting Ready For’ packs In preparation for the start of term all new students starting in September are required to complete homework over the summer for each of their subjects which should be ready to hand in at your first lesson from Monday 14th September. What to do on GCSE results day Thursday 20th August 2020
1. Please enter your actual grades onto Application Tracker, click HERE and enter your grades under the tab – Existing Qualifications. 2. Email us proof of your GCSE results or similar ensuring that your results and your name are clearly legible to: gcseresults@worthing.ac.uk by Wednesday 26th August 2020. In the subject heading please put your full name and date of birth. > For most of you this will be a photograph or scan of the print-out or email you’ll receive from school on the 20th August 2020. Make sure you include all qualifications you have achieved, including BTEC, OCR or DIDA results and any certificates or results from previous years. 3. If you are concerned that you have not met the course entry requirements for your chosen courses call the GCSE telephone hotline 01903 275755 which will be available from 9 am - 4 pm on Thursday 20th August. click HERE for details of course entry requirements.

What you need to prepare for your enrolment Due to Covid-19 we will enrol most students to the college by telephone between the 2nd and the 4th September 2020, using the telephone number you have given us. Late applications or late enrolments will be advised separately. However, enrolment will take place at the college for the following groups of students: ESOL students, Level 2 students and students with additional support needs and you will be emailed individually to notify you. You will need to bring in three items with you if you are enrolling at college please see page 9 of this guide to find out the three items you will need to bring with you. 1. Check you know the date and time of your individual enrolment appointment which is to confirm the courses you will be studying following your GCSE results. > Please log on to ‘Application Tracker’ where you will find details of your enrolment appointment. > Check whether your enrolment will be at college or by telephone. > Allow up to 30 minutes for your enrolment discussion. > Your enroller will look at your offer in light of your actual results to check you meet the entry requirements for your courses. If applicable, they will discuss other course options should you not meet

course entry requirements, or you wish to look at a course change. 2. Your enroller will also advise you about any fees and charges associated with your courses or enrichment activities. Click HERE to see Fees & Charges guide. > These will be payable via our e-store and details will be given to you at the time. > You will also be asked if you wish to make a voluntary contribution of either £25, £50 or £75. See page 10. 3. Following your enrolment you will receive an email the following day, confirming the courses you’ve been enrolled onto, instructions about how to pay any fees and charges due, and instructions about your first day of college; your induction day.

Attending your college induction day At enrolment you will be invited to attend an important induction day on either Thursday 10th or Friday 11th September 2020. To avoid crowding the session times will be staggered - either 9am - 3pm or 10am - 4pm.
The day will include the following: > Welcome from the Principal, Paul Riley > Learning how to make the most of the college IT systems and logging onto your college email account > Information about the support services available to all students. > You’ll have your photo taken for your college ID badge > Learn more about how the Student Union represent the needs of students and how you can volunteer for various roles; course reps and the student executive. > You may also like to click HERE to register for a TOTUM card, the new name for NUS extra, which gives you access to student discounts and deals on eating out and fashion, tech and travel, and everything in between.

We must see the original document of one of the following: birth certificate, in-date passport or if applicable, a letter from the Home Office to demonstrate you have the right to remain.
A local trip parental consent form > This form, valid for your time at college must be signed by your parent/carer to give on-going consent for local (Sussex) trips. Please CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THIS FORM, ask your Parent/Carer to sign it and bring it with you to your induction day. Fees & Charges Please read the full details of the fees and charges associated with starting at college as payments are required to be paid once you have enrolled. Key information include: > All students are requested to pay a voluntary contribution of either £25, £50 or £75. > The following academies and academic courses have fees associated with them for equipment, kit, trips, etc: Health and Social Care, Sport, Sport and Exercise Science, Visual Arts & Performing Arts.

Learning Support Grant The Learning Support Grant is the name of the financial assistance scheme provided by the Chichester College Group. Â This grant can provide you with: > Help with travel costs. > Help with equipment, books or resources costs. > Contribution towards childcare costs. > Help to pay UCAS admin fees. > Contribution towards enrichment activities linked to your course. Further information about the scheme is provided here. CLICK HERE TO APPLY You will need your student reference number to apply, which you can find by logging on to Application Tracker. We have tried to make applying as simple as possible, but it will involve filling in online forms, providing evidence and telling us about your financial situation. We will then make an assessment based on your personal circumstances.

When will you get your timetable? Your individual timetable will be emailed to your college email address at 2.00pm on Friday 11th September.
What does the college day look like? Lessons start every day at 8.30am with one exception which is Tuesday mornings where lessons start at 11am. There are three teaching sessions a day and each lesson is 120 minutes with a 10 minute break included. You will not be in lessons in every teaching session and your individual timetable will reect this. To give you an understanding of the college day here is an outline of the teaching sessions.

Teaching starts Monday 14th September 2020 In line with the latest government guidance, we are eager to return to delivering education on site to all students from September. We have developed different models to respond to the different possible circumstances in September including full on site delivery and a blended model combining on site teaching and remote learning. We will email students and parents/carer at the start of September to confirm the arrangements we will be putting in place.
