Why AASE? “AASE is an opportunity to develop, challenge and better yourself as a rugby player, student and more importantly as a young woman. This is offered to only 120 students across the country and only highly motivated and skilled students will be considered for a position on the course. Universities, employers and rugby clubs all look on AASE as an indication as to the person you aspire to be……”. ! Ben Coulson Director of Rugby at Worthing College

Caroline Hodgson ! During my first year at Worthing College I played for the football academy, winning the County Cup and reaching the National Cup semi-final. However, I was fortunate enough to be a part of a National Cup winning team, not in football but in rugby!

!

I played rugby for the first time in March 2014, when I was offered the opportunity to take part in the Reigate tournament which we won and also retained this year.Â

!

For my second year I decided to pursue rugby having enjoyed it so much and made lots of great friends. This decision definitely paid off, as through the excellent training, opportunities and links within the rugby academy I have been lucky enough to go on training weekends, play for the South East Women's team, and also attend an England U20's training camp this summer.

!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the college academy, being a part of both the football and rugby teams, making friends for life. I have gained many benefits on and off the field, from free gym membership to coaching at local schools, massages and not forgetting lots of stash!Â
