Roche Harbor Historic Resort
Continue north and you arrive at Roche Harbor historic seaside Resort, the site of large limestone quarries that once supplied lime to much of the West Coast. Stop to smell the roses in the colorful flower garden and check out the world-class yacht marina. JOHN S. MCMILLIN MEMORIAL MAUSOLEUM
In the woods near Roche Harbor Resort is the John S. McMillin Memorial mausoleum. Erected by the founder of the quarries and Hotel de Haro, the mausoleum is hidden on a hill and only accessible by walking a trail through a nearby graveyard. The center of the mausoleum is a table surrounded by six chairs as crypts for the ashes of the McMillian family, representing their reunion after death. The site is on the National Registry of Historic Places and should be shown respect.
