In America, Veterans were not always appreciated for their efforts in the military. Take the Vietnam war for example...instead of coming back to loving and open arms our military was shunned and highly disrespected due to their interference in the Vietnamese battle. Now we have learned to accept them for who they are and their contributions to keep America free. Veterans to me are the symbol of America's success. They are proof of how strong our country is and how people are willing to die to keep us free. In todays society veterans are well respected and are in fact given certain benefits in things like insurance, meals, medical care, and psychiatric help. Veterans are important to America's past, present, and future for many reasons. One reason is historys repetition, history has a certain way of repeating itself. One often misinterprets the true meaning of war, believing it is only a dispute that is ended through fighting. In fact, war is more than just fighting. It is a battle where many brave souls lose their lives for protecting the country they love. Many of the rights we have today would not have been possible without the sacrifice of many brave American soldiers. Instead of living in a tranquil and prosperous nation, we could be living in a nation that resembles countries such as Africa, living under poor conditions and extreme poverty. It is imperative to take into consideration that the veterans we have today have made an impact on our nation and we owe much of our respect to them. Not many people have the courage to take on the heavy and overwhelming duty of going to war, knowing that death is imminent. Along with that, many of them have experienced traumatizing moments that have scarred them for life. Because of this, there is much appreciation and respect inclined towards

The Importance Of Freedom For Our Veterans

"Why are veterans important to our Nation's history and future?" Many people believe that veterans are very important to our past, present, and future because of all they have done. There are many reasons that veterans are important, but the main thing to remember is that they made the sacrifice to make sure we stayed free. I've noticed that many veterans from major wars have been passing at an extremely high rate, and to add onto that they haven't been getting the recognition they deserve. They have changed the nation to make it what it is.A very well known reason that veterans are important to our past is that they shaped the nation toe not only make it but keep it free. If we hadn't helped with world war two Hitler and Stalin would have crushed the allies and they may have moved to us next. After Kim IL Sung had invaded South Korea in nineteen–fifty which started the Korean War, if we hadn't intervened South Korea would have been under communist control. Without us going to Kuwait they wouldn't have survived the invasions from the Iraqi soldiers. There is a very legitimate reason that they are important for our future, which is that they bring you the knowledge from their mistakes and new ideas from their experiences. Freedom is not free. It is obtained for us by people we don't know in countries far away. Veterans are the key to keeping our country safe. They were willing to give up their family, friends, security, and even their lives to fight for the rights of those they don't know. By risking it all, veterans are able to be an inspiration to a whole country. While I admire the work that many veterans have done, I don't believe that I would be able to make the same sacrifices as they did. As a service to their country, they took it upon themselves to protect those unknown to them. They are a part of something greater than themselves in which they are essential to the outcome of the whole. All roles are of equal importance because without them all our rights would be unfound. There would be no freedom of speech or right to a fair trial. Our country would be without purpose if we...show more content...

I am proud to say that both my grandma and grandpa served in the military. The experiences that they have had are invaluable to learn about. Their stories keep the service they have done alive and helps to enrich others about what serving the country is like. They do not glout about their service, but are humbled to have been able to make a contribution to the nation's security. If not for my grandpa's service, I would not be here today as he met my grandma through it. I respect his service and sacrifice for the country of today. It is important to remember how much of daily life is affected by the work of veterans. Walking on streets, going to school, eating at restaurants, and hanging out with friends all depend on the service of veterans. They may not receive the proper amount of recognition from the younger generations, but their work is appreciated. In actuality, they gained vital information that can be shared with the future generations. They have gained respect and honor for their duty for our

The Importance Of Honoring Veterans

Estrella Mercado Mr. Early Honors English October 27, 2016

Honoring Veterans Any man or woman who goes to war to serve for our country should always remain recognized for their sacrificial decisions to protect all the people of the United States. That is why Veteran's Day is so important to the not only the troops' family, but to everyone. Individually we recognize the hard work that they do, the daily sacrifices they make, and putting their life on the line for our freedom and justice. Veteran's day is for current troops who are serving and for former troops as a consequence to renounce their great doings. All veterans should always continue to obtain recognition for when they served no matter when or where it was. If it weren't for our

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted –Aesop". I believe in an America to where there is kindness. When kindness, of respected veterans. I also think of when/everyone has the same level of respect. Also when there is shelter for all the homeless or somewhere for them to go. This is what I believe America should be like and what it is to me. When veterans are respected they know that everyone are about them. I also think of them being able to have more respect than we do because they risked their lives just for us. Plus, veterans should have equal rights. But most importantly they should be able to go somewhere and have no one look down on them. In my mind veterans should be respected no matter what. There should also be

Why Are Veterans Important To America

I appreciate America's Veterans because they have served for us back then and have protected us. Especially they gave up their lives when they were young, For instance, some of the Veterans were poor and had nothing and they went to the military to be a better person. In other words, were supposed to thank them because other people will not serve for our country. They protected us in many different ways and we United States don't see it yet. To emphasize why I appreciate them is because most of my family went to themilitary and I respect them for that. Therefor, I would go the military because half of my went to the military and I want to follow my family footsteps because I want to say that I served for my country. In the other hand, the

Why it's Important to Thank Veterans

Think about if you were or are a soldier, pilot, naval officer, paratrooper, marine, navy seal, or Green Beret. You gave your freedom to fight for others! And that's what matters. It's not just the soldiers in the military today, we should be thankful for everyone who has served our country. It's not just the soldiers but what about the mechanics in the Air Force that make the planes possible? Consider who drives the tanks and humvees and also the Intelligence group. They were also a special part to. My two grandfathers, uncle, and great grandfather were in the military. Now that I think about it, they did a great job protecting the country and us from more wars. Why Are Veterans Important

Some ways we can honor are veterans are what i am writing about today. It is really important we honor them because they have been through a lot to protect us. When i say that i mean mentally and physically. If you watched the video then you would see that millions of people died. That was probably very hard to watch. And they have to go through a lot of training. So one thing you could do is make a card. If you know a vet or have a friend who knows one this would be something very nice to do. Another thing you could do is take them out somewhere. If they are old then they might enjoy going to get some food or going to a museum. And the last thing is just say thank you. They have done so much for are country and its the least we can do

Why Is Veterans Day Important

Honoring our Veterans is so important. They fought for us and some died fighting for peace. Veterans Day is also known as Remembrance Day, a day to remember those who died, but also celebrate those who fought on and lived through the battles. We should keep honoring our Veterans because war is not over. We still have people fighting for us right now. Veterans has been celebrated for so many years and in 1938, the day had so many ceremonies and parades that Congress marked it an official holiday. I would like to thank both of my great–grandpas, for fighting for peace in America and other countries.

Why Veterans Are Important To Leave Their Family

Why Veterans Are Important Essay

There are so many history stories in history books and on the internet, but the source from people who were actually there is so much better than reading the nonsense. It's better to hear stories from people who have actually lived and witnessed it rather than just read stories about it. Most students listen better than they read. When you listen to stuff, it sticks in our mind way longer than looking at a book trying to figure out what's going on. Veterans are an example of this. They tell us stories about the times they were in the training and when they battled, if they did or have already. They have always been an important part of our nation'shistory, present, and future. Everyone who went into the military or is currently planning to join has or will have a story to tell. It will be a part of them that they will always remember, the good times and the bad times. So many veterans love telling all the experiences they have witnessed. Thinking of it, it's not a bad thing; it's a great thing to be able to say they were actually there. Many students ask what the training is like when they first join the military, although it's really tough, many still consider going, some even make the commitment to join right after they graduate. Those who do make it, the commitment, are the reason our nation's history and future is how it is and how...show more content...

Why Veterans Are Important Essay

A veteran is a person who served in the military. A person who sacrificed their own life to defend the lives of others. A person who protected our country day after day from harm. A person who had to endure so much pain and suffering to give us a better tomorrow. Veterans are important to our nation's history and future because without them having to go through what they encountered, our lives wouldn't be at all near to how they are today. They make our future better even though they are unsure of theirs. They give us freedom for a finer future and we as the people of this nation should ensure that they are an important priority in our life today, tomorrow and always. There are many wars that happened in history that changed our nation. One war that had an enormous impact on our nation was The Revolutionary war. The Revolutionary War began the year of 1775. The war went on till 1783 and within those eight years our nation gained something that will change us forever. On July...show more content...

We don't hear bomb explosions outside our homes: we don't walk out to see people carrying around massive weapons and we don't experience suffering and pain on an everyday basis like other countries do. We are a safe well cared for nation because of our veterans. If our veterans are willing to sacrifice their lives to protect us, it should be an important task in our lives to make sure that our nations veterans are well cared for. Many of our nations veterans struggle financially and emotionally and that is not how they should live. There are veterans who don't have homes and are homeless. That shouldn't be an issue in our world today. Why should someone who fights for a good life have to come back from war to have to live on the street? They give us freedom for a finer future and we as the people of this nation should ensure that they are an important priority in ensuring their lives are as bright as the people they fight
