I Kind of Like Halloween By Monet, Age 7 My mom is going to take me to a store called Spirit Halloween! I might dress up as a Magician but I’m not too sure.

GORDO N

AYATO

The Three Giants By Marah, age 9 There was a big cave and there were three giants: a mom, a dad, and a baby. They had a good life. When a big army of people came, they made a really big fire and when the parents came to fight, they both tripped on a big rock and fell into the fire. Then the baby ran away. He ran into a deep and dark forest. The trees were all alive! 1

The Kidnapper By Melania, age 9 These two girls were shopping at the mall in H&M and there was this creepy guy who was following them. They went to another store and he was still following them. So one of them called 911 and they went outside. The police were late and the guy kidnapped both of them. They drove away in a white van and then the kidnapper called the girls’ parents and said “The only way to get them back is to give one million dollars.” So, the parents came with a bag with one million dollars inside. Then they paid and got the kids back and they lived happily ever after.

Ghost By Jade, age 8 One day there was a ghost.

Horror By Hamza, age 9 Once upon a time, there was a man with his friends. They went to a mountain and saw a giant. He and his friends came back later at night at 3:00 am so that they could discover the giant, but a CIA guy stopped them and said, “You can’t go because there is a creepy monster on the top. We have to get rid of it”. So, he and his friends went home and went back on the weekend at 6:00 in the morning and found the giant. The giant was going to eat them but he WAS DEAD, so they called animal control and animal control brought them to the scientist and they turned them into a flying monster.

Mystery Girl By Maha, age 8 One night a girl named Isabella was walking down the street. Suddenly, a little girl walked by. She looked scary, so Isabella went back home. She was going to put her pajamas on and she saw the same girl in her closet. She was so scared, so she called her mom. When her mom came, the girl disappeared.

Blue Head, Red Head, Dead Head By Meisa, age 10 Trigger warning: violent content Once upon a time, there was a beautiful village that had the most peaceful people alive. They had dozens of temples. No one believed it, but when they realized it was true, they completely lost it. They started a rampage. They went to the village and bashed people's heads with weapons, strangled people, hanged them, and smashed kid’s heads with bricks! Burned down houses and temples. The people couldn’t fight back, they were too nice and didn’t have any weapons. The bodies were buried at the bottom of tree trunks. Only the heads would show. The strangled ones would be hanged on tree branches. The children’s gravestones would be bricks. The buried ones had blood all over their faces. The hanged ones’ faces turned pale, then blue. The village was destroyed. Some say their eyes are still moving now.

The Magic By Layla, age 10 There were two girls who were best friends. They had a sleepover together. The lights went out and there was a strange cold wind and then the lights started to flicker. Then there was a big bang on their door and someone called their names in a loud voice and said: “Come out of the room”. They hid under their bed and then someone barged through the door. And then it all went away and there was a big flash of light. They ran downstairs and saw her parents gone and there was a big fat note on the table. They read the note it said: “I took your parents to the underworld. Blah blah blah, la la la, big fat fuzzy banana. The end. Shakalaka.” 3

The School Monster By Remas, age 10 Today was a nice day at my new school. The kids in my class were kinda crazy, but it’s ok. I made a new friend. Her name is Maddy and, if you are wondering, my name is Olivia. I’m really happy because I’m going to my first sleepover. The only problem is that I know my mom won’t drive me because she is busy, but I need someone to drive me because the location Maddy sent was far. I can try to call an Uber. But wait, she sent the school’s location. Um, that’s weird but ok. The Uber came and I hopped in the car and we drove away. Okay so here is Maddy. “Oh wait, is that her?” I said. I called her name and she finally noticed me. I walked over and she said that she wanted our sleepover to be at the school because she knows this really sneaky area. It’s somewhere that kids from our school go in the day, but we are going at night and no one ever went there at night before. So, we walked in. Oh, and the school is open, so yeah. Anyway, we quickly entered a classroom. The only person in the school is the janitor (well, and Maddy and me). So it’s going to be easy. I was out of breath when we reached the place in the school. It looked really nice because Maddy told me the students had been bringing stuff up here to make it look nice and cozy. It was about 9:30 when the janitor left the school, and that’s when the fun started. But that went the opposite after an hour. After Maddy told me about the school, we heard a loud bang. It came from the stairs. We didn’t want to go, not because we were scared, but because we thought we would get in trouble if it was someone from our school. But Maddy wanted to check. I told her I didn’t want to come. She begged me to, but I’m not getting in trouble. I waited and waited and she came back running. I thought she looked from around a corner, but when I found out why she was running I was shocked, so shocked. “Olivia, Olivia,” Maddy yelled, “Run, run, just run.” I panicked and ran as fast as I could. I was still wondering if it was a monster or what she was talking about, but I just ran. I saw the exit door and then I was free. I waited for Maddy and while I was waiting, I called an Uber for us. When the Uber came, we hopped in. I saw the monster stopping at the exit. After I got home, I did not want to go to any more sleepovers.

"MONEY, PLEASE!" "DONUT, PLEASE!" "BOOK, PLEASE!"

If I had three wishes I would wish for unlimited food and drinks. Like if I said, “Donut please,” a donut would appear. For the next wish, I would wish for unlimited money because I’m sort of greedy. For the last wish, I would wish for any book, even the ones that are not realized.

The Telephone Booth By Jaden, age 11 Once upon a time, there was a girl named Sarah. She was a very unusual girl. She would mumble words to herself when she was alone. Everyone always said she was a freak and had no friends. When school was over she would go to an abandoned telephone booth, but no one ever knew who she was actually talking to. Not even me, the narrator. After she was done talking to the mysterious person, she would open the door to the telephone booth and pull her hood over her head, because it was always raining when she went into the telephone booth and started dialling a number. It was extremely weird. She put her hands in her pockets and started walking. It was a long walk, but then she stopped at a really funky-looking house. It had spider webs all around it. I could see cockroaches all around the windows. The windows mostly looked shattered; it was very, VERY creepy. If I were her friend I would never want to go in there, even if my life depended on it, because I would already be dead if I stepped foot inside. I blinked for a second and saw a black shadow with red eyes. The shadow was almost shaped like a person. The next morning, I saw her get out of her house and walk to school. I don’t know how and I don’t know why, but for some reason, she actually looked happy. I don’t know what, but something weird happened last night. I couldn't go inside the school so I had to wait six hours… (Three hours later) BOOM! I jumped, opened my car door and ran as fast as I could into the middle of the hallway. I saw red splattered all over the walls. I looked at Sarah in horror. A kid was passed out on the ground. Wait, I saw the same telephone booth in the corner with the same shadow from Sarah’s house. When I looked back at Sarah she was staring in the same direction I was looking at it, but then she turned her head like an owl. She looked at me and smiled a very very creepy smile. To be continued...

The Illegal Foods By K.L., age 10

BOB

DEA GLOVE XXXXL COW GUTS

The rat’s name is Larry. There was a guy that was so poor, so desperate, so in need of money, but his mind was marvellous. So one day he used his late father’s truck as a food truck and came up with ingenious recipes. Matalona: a recipe that is cooked with garlic beef, some stuff that’s related to rats. Who thought rats and beef would be good? However... Police got around and the word started going around. The Food Administration disapproved of this rat dish. The DEA came around to see if they drugged it with rats. They started using pineapple on french fries. They’ve upgraded to a mall and now they sell crabs with cow guts and bananas. The guy is no longer poor. He lost his money again because he is in jail. 21

Taylor Swift is Overrated By Lilac, age 11 In my opinion, Taylor ain't that good. Like, what’s all the jazz about? I know her Eras Tour was like a month ago or whatever, but still. Her music isn’t even that good. Like everything is just “OMG! TAYLOR SWIFT! I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU! BUT I’M FEELING 22!” Like, no, I don’t want to hear you sing a Taylor Swift song for the millionth time. And don’t get me started on the clothing. Bracelets with her song names on them. Shirts saying “Who’s Taylor Swift anyway? Ew.” Absolutely no. And everyone is being Taylor for Halloween. The amount of Taylor fan pages in this book is astonishing. Like, I like her as a person but her music is just… ya. If I hear one more person sing one of her songs I’m gonna start a protest. Any friends who are Swifties, please don’t kill me. Taylor Swift: 3/10.

Drama Town By M.K., age 9 There was a group of friends. Their names were Sally, Max and May. They all had siblings and they all had enemies. Their enemies’ names were Emaa, Fona, and Mai. Are you wondering why they are enemies? A long long time ago, there was a boy. His name was Calin. Emaa liked Calin and so did Sally. One day, Sally said, “I saw a cute boy.” Emaa said, “Same.” So they showed each other and then they screamed. That was how they became enemies. When Emaa went home, the door shut and Emaa screamed “W-what is that? In the shadow!” “Grrr,” said the mysterious monster. Mai screamed “Emaa!” But it was too late. “Yeah?” said Mai. “Call 911, please!” The police came and said “Hi, Ma’am.” Shivering, Mai said, “H-i.. hi,” “Hi,” he said, in a dark voice. She ran. “Where is she?” said the mysterious voice. Panicking, Mai ran into a wall. “Wh-aaat, this was not here before.” She heard walking in the hallway. Step, step, step. She screamed. He stepped out of the dark. She saw him. He looked scary. He had stitches on his face and his eye was poking out of his face. Smiling, he pulled out a knife… and Mai never came back. Where did the police go after that? The end. 32

The Murderer By A.S. ♥, age 9 I ran away from home. I was walking to my friend’s house. Someone was trying to stop me, but I punched her. I ran fast to my friend’s house. My friend opened the door and pulled me in. She looked at the clock and it was 3:00 am. She said, “There's a murderer on the loose!” The murderer broke the door and went inside the house. My friend grabbed the knife and stabbed the murderer. Then she called 911. I ran home when the police arrived. My parents saw me and said, “Never run away again. I said, “Okay.” The end.

Ghost Face Chasing Two People By Moshe, age 8

One night, there were two people running through a dark alley to a haunted house. The haunted house had a lot of spiderwebs and broken windows. The two friends were being chased by… Ghostface. They ran upstairs to get away. It was a dead end. Luckily, there was a broken window. They threw a pillow out the window and jumped out to the safe landing. They ran all the way home without looking back. They got home, hid in their room and ate 100 candies. 33

The Demon By A.S. ★, age 9 Once upon a time, there was a girl named Alyssa. When she got home, she saw her brother, Luke, floating in the air above the doorstep. She ran away as fast as she could. Her neighbour didn’t care because she was the demon that possessed him. Then the same thing happened to her twin sister, Sarah, but this time it was her twin’s husband Max. She went home and saw him floating over the bed, but she ran away as fast as she could. The floating man jumped in front of her. She gasped. She ran down the stairs as fast as she could. She called the police, but when they got there the people had disappeared. No one visited the house again until... the twins came back as demons. A new set of twins moved into the house. Their names were Lilly and Milly. The demon twins were disguised as furniture, but Lilly and Milly didn’t know (he he he!). The demons were now called Demon #1 (Alyssa) and Demon #2 (Sarah). Because they did not know that the demons were furniture, Lilly and Milly sat on them and the demons got mad. One day the demons had enough of people sitting on them. They turned into their human forms and floated in a backbend. Their eyes were dark red. Their bodies were twisted. Their heads were spinning and they were screaming “HELP!!!!” Lilly and Milly ran away. They got lost in a deserted place. They lost the two demons and gave a sigh of relief. Then they saw someone. She walked up to them. It was a real human. She asked them, “Am I pretty?” They said, “Yes.” She took off the mask and her mouth was cut from ear to ear. She asked them again, “Am I pretty? They said, “Yes.” She took out a knife and suddenly they realized it was the servant smiling lady in Korea. They ran as fast as they could and called the police. The police were on their way but by the time they arrived, everyone disappeared except for Demon #1 and Demon #2...

They were meeting to create their plan to steal all the cheese from the big cheese factory. This cheese factory was the main factory of a big cheese company called Cheesy. They finished their plan and headed towards the factory. Jeff, Bailey and Brian went to the front door of the factory. While the boys were putting the plan into action, Victoria was on her computer inside the van, giving them instructions through an earpiece. Jeff asked the secretary at the front desk if they could use the bathroom. She said it was okay and gave them directions. The boys entered the bathroom. Brian said, “This smells very bad!” They took out the tools hidden in their clothes. Brian got on top of Bailey and Jeff climbed up on Brian to get to the top. Jeff opened the big vent using a screwdriver. Jeff went in and helped Brian climb up. Brian and Jeff then helped Bailey get into the vent. To be continued... 49

The Bobbit and the Desolation of Droog By Damien, age 14 After we arrived at Beorn House, we ate and talked about when we had to arrive at the Mountain. We ate chicken wings. We left the next day because there were only twenty days in winter. We borrowed some ponies from Beorn and rode all the way to the Lonely Mountain. We spent three days there while we found some food. When we left, we went around the mountain and down a path around the side. When we finally arrived near the base, we rested for a day. The next day, we started walking again. We walked for five days with no sleep at all. Finally, we arrived at the secret entrance and waited for the rest of the day. When it was the first day of winter, we saw the keyhole and used the key to open the mountain up. It was my time to go steal the stone. I went to where all the treasure would be. I did not find it for two hours. But when I picked up a piece of gold, all of the treasure fell off Droog. It was him. I quickly put on my ring and turned invisible. Droog woke up and said, “I will kill you for waking me up and I will kill you for being in my mountain!!” He blew fire all over the place because he could not see me. I went very far away until I saw the stone. I quickly grabbed it and ran away. Droog saw it was missing, so he got up and left his mountain and went all the way to the Lonely Mountain. Droog made it to the mountains. He started to burn everything around it until Bolin the Dwarf shot a black arrow right through his scale and Droog died. Back at Morabor, we found out that Bolin killed Droog. Thor was so happy. He went to look for the shiny stone, but he could not find it in the treasure because I never told him that I’d already found it. He started to get really sick because of all the treasure that got consumed over Droog. He got so mad at the rest of the dwarves that he started yelling and yelling and almost killed one of them. But not far away, there was a goblin army coming to start a war for the mountain. They were right around the corner. Two hours later we heard a loud sound. We went outside and saw the goblins. They tried to break into the mountain but it was very sturdy. Thor's sickness left him because he knew he had to save his people. His cousin Ryan came to help Thor. Ryan had a whole army of dwarves. They started to fight after Thor got out of the mountain. Thor said: “I have to take out their leader.” He went up with some of his best warriors and sliced Bay's head off but died in the process. Bat stamped Thor, but Thor had enough energy to stamp Bat right through the chest. I was really sad it happened, but I can’t do anything about it. I went home and I lived happily ever after till the end of my days. The end. 65

The Youth Program at 877 Shrek: The Final Chapter By Farley, age 14 I don’t remember what happened in the last part. Neither does Shrek. Let’s say they woke up in a nursing home. Shrek went to the pharmacy to get his prescription pills and then went to his apartment to relax. He turned on the TV. It had been two years since his last adventure (two reasons: something for the story and I didn’t know how to conclude last year). Shrek went to bed and dreamt of destroying Steve Harwell’s liver. He woke up terrified in the middle of New York with half of the city destroyed. Who caused this? Shrek went to Steve Harwell’s house (the lead singer of Smash Mouth) to see if he could help him. Steve agreed to help Shrek, but something seemed wrong. Steve seemed sick. Steve followed Shrek to his house and when Shrek went to sleep something happened. Shrek got up and poked Steve with a stick. Steve was very hurt and Shrek woke up as he was poking Steve. Shrek felt awful. He hurt his hero. Shrek went to the roof of his apartment to disappear from the world but I stopped him and I said “Dude, you are the main character!” Shrek was confused. I showed him I was writing a story about him. Shrek told me I had to end it somehow. He was right but I wasn’t sure how. Shrek grabbed the story out of my hand and threatened to burn it. I told him I could just rewrite it. It seemed that I had defeated Shrek but he asked to make a deal with me. This would be the last one that I write. I had so many other stories written out already but he was right. I burned every other story and made this the finale. I then wrote another random story titled, “Kennitron.” It was random but at least it was unique. The Shrek saga is over. But a new story might start soon. The End.

Man Hates Enjoying Things By Tony, age 15 There was a man named Man who hated enjoying things. Every time he enjoyed something, from eating white bread to having quality time with family, Man would always think of something equally unenjoyable, such as taxes, politics, and the vast emptiness of this universe. But if Man were to actually begin enjoying things, the world would collapse in on itself. As a result, Man believed he was doing a service for everyone as he was the only different person on this globe. Man was the equilibrium that keeps the humans who enjoy things in check; the humans who enjoy things keep Man in check. Then one day, Man realized he had meaning in his life. Man smirked and enjoyed that moment, but as soon as he did, he realized everyone on Earth, including him, was suddenly stuck in this vast emptiness of the universe. P.S. Sorry I ran out of jokes.

John Egbert is Pregnant By Kiana, age 12

John Egbert was pregnant (somehow) so now he’s John Pregbert. He gave birth to an evil infant he named Karkat. “Goo goo.” “Ew,” said John. Dave was the dad BUT… he cheated!!! “How could you, Dave?” John said. Dave shrugged. The End (I think).
