munity outreach event, which this year students have dubbed Spring Fest. The inaugural event last year was Irish Fest and the school’s gymnasium was adorned in green, since all activities revolved around St. Patrick’s Day. The fundraiser went to benefit Twenty Six Trees, a foundation created to honor the memory of the lives lost in the Sandy Hook school tragedy. Would your children know what to do if you passed away suddenly? It sounds morbid, but nearing the end of days doesn’t have to be so. Author Lynn McPhelimy and her parents, Ellyn and Joe Wolak, weren’t going to take any chances. INSIDE:
When the couple was diagnosed with terminal cancer in the very same year, they began a quest to prepare their family for their impending departure. What surfaced was a book written by their daughter that would eventually land her appearances on “Oprah” and “The Today Show.”
“You know when I’m gone, I don’t want the yard all dug up when you’re looking for the septic tank. So here is this little map,” McPhelimy remembers her father saying. And her mother? “I don’t want to leave with you with questions; I want to leave you with answers.”
