recently named the best in their categories in the New Britain Herald’s Best of 2014 Readers’ Poll. Eight businesses won awards, and the PBA itself was voted best nonprofit organization. “I’m so proud that so many Polonia Busness Association places made the list,” said Adrian Baron, president of the PBA. “It kind of illustrates what we’ve been trying to do in the city, which is to make it a better place.” The law firm in which Baron is a partner, The Law Offices of Podorsky, Thompson and Baron, won Best Law Firm. “This is the second year we’ve won it, and we were surprised,” Baron said. “We compete with the larger firms in the Greater New Britain area, and it’s nice that the readership thinks so highly of us.” Kasia Kobryn, owner of Kasia Bakery on Broad Street, which won Best Bakery in New Britain, said people come from all over to visit Broad Street for the Polish camaraderie. “We get people from New Jersey, New York and even Massachusetts,” Kobryn said. “And it’s not just to come to the bakery.
