Do you hear that?
It is day. There is the tree, there is the h , g There is peace.
Listen.
It’s loud here, people talking all around you. But they’re at a distance, too far away; let them fade into the buzzing of the breeze.
Pay attention.
Use the backpack as a pillow, lay down. Tilt your head to the sky, close your eyes.
Focus.
Can you hear that, right there?
It’s the tinkling of wind chimes, the sound of your best friend’s laughter, the way the air bends around her smile.
It’s the rustling of wind in the trees, the soft sound of a leaf falling on the ground, the crunch of a foot stepping on it.
It’s the birdsong, it’s the chirping of the crickets, it’s the soft blessing of air on your face.
Do you feel it now? Can you hear it?
