How to be gas safe W

RVS has teamed up with the Gas Safe Register, previously known as CORGI, to help the region’s over-65s make sure their gas appliances are safe and fit for use. The campaign targets one of the most vulnerable groups in society, and our volunteers are ideally placed to help people stay safe at home by passing on advice from the experts. The advice is relevant to everyone, so why not make a note of it for yourself ? ■ Have your gas appliances checked every year and serviced regularly

■ Always use a Gas Safe registered engineer ■ Always ask to see the engineer’s identity card ■ Be aware of the signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning Pick up a leaflet from one of our services, or visit the WRVS website for a handy guide with safety tips that will help everyone to make sure their home is gas safe.
