ESKANDARI-MARANDI’S FIRST VICTORY

SEBASTIAN ESKANDARI-MARANDI

The class reserved for the Under 10s ended with the first triumph of Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi (Tony Kart/Vortex). The Australian was immediately one of the protagonists at the weekend with a third place in Group 1 of the qualifying practice, which placed him fifth in the combined rankings, and continued his journey in the qualifying heat with a victory, two podiums and three fastest laps. Thanks to these results, the Tony Kart Racing Team driver leapt to the top of the intermediate rankings and confirmed his leadership also in the prefinal A on Saturday morning, where he achieved a solid success. From pole position, in the decisive final he immediately took the lead on the first laps but found a valid rival in Leonardo Gorski (Parolin/Iame). EskandariMarandi stayed in the wake of the Pole, also because the latter was given a 3-second penalty from the stewards during the race. The two finished the race separated by almost a tenth of a second, but the winner’s trophy went to Eskandari-Marandi.

L’australiano è subito uno dei protagonisti del fine settimana con il terzo posto nel gruppo 1 delle qualifiche, che lo posiziona quinto nella classifica combinata, e prosegue il proprio cammino nelle qualifying heat con un bottino di una vittoria, due podi e ben tre giri veloci. Grazie a questi risultati, il pilota Tony Kart Racing Team balza in testa alla classifica intermedia e conferma la propria leadership anche nella prefinale A di sabato mattina, dove ottiene un solido successo. Dalla pole position, nella decisiva finale prende subito il comando delle operazioni nei primi giri, ma trova in Leonardo Gorski (Parolin/Iame) un valido rivale. Eskandari-Marandi rimane in scia al polacco, anche perché quest’ultimo riceve nel corso della gara una penalità di 3 secondi dai commissari sportivi. I due terminano la prova separati da quasi un decimo di secondo, ma il trofeo del vincitore va nelle mani di Eskandari-Marandi.

The victory of Bosco Arias Chavarri (KR/Iame) in the third round of the season was not entirely obvious. In fact, the Spaniard started the weekend with an 11th place in Friday’s qualifying practice, which instead saw Iskender Zulfikari (Parolin/Iame) at the top. Arias Chavarri found excellent forward momentum in the subsequent qualifying heats where, among other things, he won and gained third place in the intermediate rankings, behind the new leader Keelan Harvick (Parolin/Iame) and Bogdan Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame). Even after the prefinals on Sunday morning, it was clear to everyone that the final would be a matter reserved for these three drivers, which is exactly what happened: Cosma Cristofor led the race on the first laps, after which Harvick took the lead for just one lap, before being overtaken by Arias Chavarri. Noah Baglin (KR/Iame) also joined the battle, but on the penultimate lap he came into contact with Cosma Cristofor and ended up off the track: this favoured the escape of Arias Chavarri, first under the chequered flag ahead of both Harvick, who came second, and Cosma Cristofor, who came third.

Non del tutto scontata la vittoria di Bosco Arias Chavarri (KR/Iame) nel terzo round stagionale. Lo spagnolo, infatti, inizia il weekend con l’11° posto nelle qualifiche di venerdì, che vedono invece in vetta Iskender Zulfikari (Parolin/Iame). Arias Chavarri trova un ottimo slancio in avanti con le successive qualifying heat - dove, tra l’altro, ottiene una vittoria - e guadagna il terzo posto nella classifica intermedia, dietro al nuovo leader Keelan Harvick (Parolin/Iame) e a Bogdan Cosma Cristofor (KR/ Iame). Anche dopo le prefinali di domenica mattina, è chiaro a tutti che la finale sarà un affare riservato a questi tre piloti e così accade: Cosma Cristofor guida la gara nei primi giri, dopodiché Harvick prende il comando per appena una tornata, prima di essere infilato da Arias Chavarri. Nella battaglia s’inserisce anche Noah Baglin (KR/Iame), ma al penultimo giro entra in contatto con Cosma Cristofor e finisce fuori pista: questo favorisce la fuga di Arias Chavarri, primo sotto la bandiera a scacchi davanti sia ad Harvick, secondo, sia a Cosma Cristofor,
