It is time, finally, to restart our engines. Having recharged our batteries during this winter break, WSK Promotion is ready, once again as it has been for over 15 years now, to give a worthy stage to great international karting with a full and compelling calendar: 11 events for a total of 3 series with numerous races and 2 in a single race, anticipated by the “Winter test” session in mid-February. We all know that 2020 was a difficult year, with the coronavirus emergency that affected our lives and changed our habits, and we are expecting a difficult 2021, but the WSK team has prepared for this. Let’s go back to the track together, united by the love for this sport which can bring us together as one big family, while fully respecting the required safety protocols. We have worked hard to ensure that the usual sporting activity takes place, aware that the motorsport sector has been hit hard by this pandemic, and we are convinced that once again this year we will put on a great show for those who will be present on the track and for all the fans following us in streaming from their homes. One thing is certain: we will continue to do what stimulates us most in our activities, which is to generate excitement. Have a good season everyone. È tempo, finalmente, di riaccendere i motori. Ricaricate le batterie in questa sosta invernale, WSK Promotion è pronta, ancora una volta da oltre 15 anni, a dare un degno palcoscenico al grande karting internazionale con un calendario ricco e avvincente: 11 eventi per un totale di 3 serie su più gare e 2 in gara unica, anticipati dalla sessione di “Winter test” di metà febbraio. Sappiamo tutti che il 2020 è stato un anno difficile, con l’emergenza coronavirus che ha stravolto le nostre esistenze e le nostre abitudini, e ci aspettiamo un 2021 complesso, ma il team di WSK si è preparato a questo. Torniamo insieme in pista, accomunati dall’amore per questo sport capace di unirci in un’unica grande famiglia, nel pieno rispetto, però, dei protocolli di sicurezza richiesti. Abbiamo lavorato duramente per poter assicurare lo svolgersi della consueta attività sportiva, consapevoli che il settore del motorsport sia stato colpito duramente da questa pandemia, e siamo convinti che anche quest’anno offriremo un grande spettacolo a chi sarà presente in pista e a tutti i fan che ci seguiranno in streaming da casa. E una cosa è certa: continueremo a fare ciò che più ci stimola nella nostra attività, ovvero regalare emozioni. Buona stagione a tutti.

Designed and built in 1988, in the recent past it has undergone an important restyling of the track, facilities and services adjacent to the track. Located in an area that can be considered the cradle of karting, it is also often a destination for F1 drivers who want to go back to training in karts. Disegnato e costruito nel 1988, nel recente passato ha subito un importante restyling sia del tracciato sia delle strutture e dei servizi adiacenti la pista. Situato in quell’area che può essere considerata la culla del karting, è spesso meta anche di piloti di F1 che vogliono tornare ad allenarsi in kart.

The temple of world karting speed gets a makeover and presents itself in 2021 with a renewed track that will make its international debut at a WSK event. On the other hand, the splendid battles on the track that this location has always provided are expected to remain unchanged.

Since 1999, the “home” of WSK has represented a spectacular and demanding test bench for drivers and technicians who have to deal with its technical design and its asphalt that gives difficult levels of grip to be found in other circuits. Absent, at the last gasp, from the 2020 calendars due to the pandemic, it is back on schedule in 2021.

Il tempio della velocità del karting mondiale si rifà il trucco e si presenta nel 2021 con un tracciato rinnovato che esordirà a livello internazionale proprio in occasione di una manifestazione WSK. Si preannunciano invariate, invece, le splendide battaglie in pista che da sempre questa location ci offre.

Dal 1999, la “casa” della WSK rappresenta uno spettacolare e impegnativo banco di prova di piloti e tecnici che devono confrontarsi con il suo disegno tecnico e con il suo asfalto che offre livelli di grip difficili da ritrovare in altri circuiti. Assente, all’ultimo, dai calendari 2020 a causa della pandemia, ritorna in programma nel 2021.

STARTING FROM WSK, DESTINATION… MOTORSPORT! The WSK Promotion kart championships are now, unquestionably, the best springboard for all those who dream of reaching the top of motorsport. The transition from karts to cars is mainly based on open wheels and is repeated from year to year as a pleasant habit. Just look back at 2020 to confirm this: some well-known faces of the WSK paddock took part in the assault of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, also managed by WSK Promotion and a reference point for single-seater training. This refers to Gabriele Minì, champion in his debut year, or Francesco Pizzi who competed all season with his compatriot. Dino Beganovic also debuted, reaching the two title contenders and immediately winning in his debut year. The victories of Gabriel Bortoleto, Andrea Rosso and Pietro Delli Guanti were also extraordinary, as well as the good performances by Kirill Smal and Sebastian Montoya, all WSK protagonists in previous years. As mentioned, the transition is constant in every season and 2021 is no exception. In fact, other former WSK drivers are already testing their single-seaters in the winter season: this includes, among others, Dilano Van’t Hoff, Enzo Trulli, Nikita Bedrin, Jaime Day and Pepe Martì.

I campionati kart firmati WSK Promotion sono ormai, in maniera indiscutibile, il miglior trampolino di lancio per tutti coloro che sognano di raggiungere il vertice del motorsport. Il passaggio dal kart alle vetture è, principalmente, in direzione delle ruote scoperte e si ripete di anno in anno come una piacevole abitudine. Basta voltarsi indietro e guardare al 2020 per averne conferma: alcuni volti noti del paddock WSK hanno preso parte all’assalto dell’Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, sempre gestito da WSK Promotion e punto di riferimento delle monoposto addestrative. Parliamo di Gabriele Minì, campione nell’anno di debutto, o di Francesco Pizzi che ha lottato per tutta la stagione con il connazionale. Al via anche Dino Beganovic, giunto alle spalle dei due contendenti al titolo e subito vincente nell’anno d’esordio. Straordinarie anche le vittorie di Gabriel Bortoleto, Andrea Rosso e Pietro Delli Guanti, oltre alle buone performance di Kirill Smal e Sebastian Montoya, tutti protagonisti WSK negli anni precedenti. Come detto, il passaggio è costante ogni stagione e non fa eccezione nemmeno il 2021. Infatti, altri ex WSK stanno già saggiando le monoposto nella stagione invernale: parliamo, tra gli altri, di Dilano Van’t Hoff, Enzo Trulli, Nikita Bedrin, Jaime Day e Pepe Martì.

NEWS AND CONFIRMATIONS AMONG THE 2021 PARTNERSHIPS

ON THE DRIVERS’ SIDE. ALWAYS As unfortunately we all well know, 2020 was marred by the COVID-19 pandemic, which put a hard brake on track activities and international travel. Even 2021, as is already obvious to all, will not be completely free from the difficulties and unforeseen events that the pandemic is generating. Precisely for this reason, WSK promotion has decided to postpone the start of the new season for about a month, from January to February. With a grid full of international talent, WSK has met the needs and requirements of teams and drivers, proving that it is sensitive and flexible in the face of the severe restrictions adopted by many countries in relation to travel. An updated calendar that does not affect the time spent on the track, allowing everyone to fully experience, safely, the emotions that WSK events have always provided.

As always, there are many partners in the team that will support WSK Promotion in 2021. This is a fact that underlines the importance and central role WSK has taken on the international karting scene for over 15 years now. Sparco returns to the WSK starting grid for the season that has just begun, ready to dress all the staff with their complete kits of clothing and accessories. But there’s more: the WSK Station will be embellished by the Italian company with furnishings, obviously in a racing style. Confirmation also from the tyre sector with LeCont, whose tyres will be used by the OK class, and Vega, which will continue to be involved in the Mini, OKJ and KZ2 classes. Well, what about fuel? The collaboration with Panta has been fully renewed and it will be distributing fuel to all participants directly on the track.

Il 2020, come purtroppo tutti ben sappiamo, è stato funestato dalla pandemia COVID-19, che ha messo un duro freno alle attività in pista e ai viaggi internazionali. Anche il 2021, come è già visibile a tutti, non sarà del tutto svincolato da quelle che sono le difficoltà e gli imprevisti che la pandemia sta generando. Proprio per questo motivo, WSK Promotion ha deciso di posticipare lo start della nuova stagione di circa un mese, da gennaio a febbraio. Con una griglia ricca di talenti a carattere internazionale, WSK è andata incontro alle esigenze e alle necessità di team e piloti, dimostrandosi sensibile e flessibile di fronte alle forti restrizioni adottate da molti Paesi per gli spostamenti. Un aggiornamento di calendario che non intacca il tempo trascorso in pista, permettendo a tutti di vivere a pieno - e in sicurezza - le emozioni che regalano da sempre gli appuntamenti targati WSK.

Ricca, come sempre, la squadra dei partner che affiancherà WSK Promotion nel 2021. Un fatto che sottolinea l’importanza e il ruolo centrale che ha assunto WSK nel panorama kartistico internazionale da oltre 15 anni a questa parte. Sparco ritorna sulla griglia di partenza WSK per la stagione appena cominciata, pronta a vestire tutto il personale con i propri kit completi di abbigliamento e accessori. Non solo: la WSK Station sarà impreziosita proprio dall’azienda italiana con elementi d’arredo, ovviamente in chiave racing. Delle conferme, poi, arrivano dal comparto gomme con LeCont, i cui pneumatici saranno calzati dalla categoria OK, e Vega che continuerà ad occuparsi delle categorie Mini, OKJ e KZ2. E per quanto riguarda il carburante? Rinnovata in pieno la collaborazione con Panta che avrà il compito di distribuire direttamente in pista la benzina a tutti i partecipanti.

Stan Pex (KR/TM Racing) was one of the protagonists of the WSK Open Cup, where he won a competition that was certainly not easy. The Dutchman, also thanks to a not very positive first prefinal, recovered numerous positions in the final, even dueling with Danilo Albanese (KR/Iame) to win the first round; in the end he was satisfied with second place. Pex concentrated all his strength on the second round, achieving success in the prefinal, which earned him a valuable pole position for the final. Starting in front of everyone, Stan Pex immediately took the lead and crossed the finish line in first place both in the race and in the championship. Albanese only managed fourth place, which relegated him to second in the general rankings ahead of Senna van Walstijn (Sodikart/TM Racing).

Taylor Barnard (KR/Iame) dominated the double round in Adria, achieving full points in the prefinals and finals. The Briton got to the front right away in the decisive races, putting a considerable gap between himself and his pursuers. Marcus Amand (KR/Iame) tried to put a spoke in the wheel in the first final but finished behind him. No luck instead in the second final because Barnard ran this race by himself. The battle then focused on second place, with Norton Andreasson (Tony Kart/Vortex) ahead of Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex). Amand only finished seventh and was ranked third in the final championship rankings, behind Andreasson.

Stan Pex (KR/TM Racing) è uno dei protagonisti della WSK Open Cup, dove ottiene un trionfo certamente non facile. L’olandese, complice anche una prima prefinale poco positiva, recupera notevoli posizioni in finale, duellando addirittura con Danilo Albanese (KR/Iame) per la vittoria del primo round; alla fine si accontenta del secondo posto. Pex concentra tutte le proprie forze sul secondo round, vincendo la prefinale, risultato che gli vale una preziosa pole position in finale. Partendo davanti a tutti, Stan Pex va subito al comando e taglia il traguardo al primo posto sia nella gara sia nel campionato. Albanese raggiunge solo il quarto posto, che lo relega al secondo della generale davanti a Senna van Walstijn (Sodikart/TM Racing).

Taylor Barnard (KR/Iame) domina il doppio appuntamento di Adria, andando a punteggio pieno sia nelle prefinali sia nelle finali. Il britannico scappa in testa fin da subito nelle gare decisive, mettendo un divario notevole tra sé e gli inseguitori. Marcus Amand (KR/Iame) prova a mettergli i bastoni tra le ruote nella prima finale ma conclude alle sue spalle. Nulla da fare invece nella seconda finale perché Barnard corre una gara a sé. La battaglia si concentra quindi sul secondo posto, con Norton Andreasson (Tony Kart/Vortex) che precede Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex). Amand chiude solo settimo e si posiziona nella classifica finale di campionato al terzo posto, dietro ad Andreasson.

Freddie Slater (Kosmic/Vortex) got the better of his opponents in the double round in Adria. Slater achieved some excellent comebacks in the first heats, followed by a second place in the first prefinal. In the final, the Briton battled hard with Tymoteus Kucharczyk (RK/TM Racing), Karol Pasiewicz (Birel Art/ TM Racing) and Arvid Lindblad (KR/Iame), taking the lead only in the last few metres. In the second round, Slater won the prefinal which ensured him a front row start in the final and, by playing a cunning game, he only needed a fifth place to get his hands on the title. Lindblad came second in the rankings thanks to a third place in the second final, while Pasiewicz finished in third position. Martinius Stenshorne (Birel Art/TM Racing) won in the second final.

Maciej Gladysz (Parolin/TM Racing) ended his season in the best possible way. The Pole stood out since the qualifiers and then won a first and a second place in the two prefinals. Gladysz left nothing to chance, securing success in the first final thanks to a penalty inflicted on Gerasim Skulanov (IPK/TM Racing) and then finishing fifth in the second, thereby becoming champion. The winner of the other final was Tiziano Monza (KR/Iame), who progressed steadily throughout the weekend. The Sauber Karting Team driver added this victory to a third place in the first round: enough to ensure he finished in second place in the championship rankings. René Lammers (Parolin/Iame) finished third overall, achieving third place in the first round and fourth place in the second round.

Freddie Slater (Kosmic/Vortex) ha la meglio sui propri avversari nel doppio appuntamento di Adria. Slater mette a segno delle ottime rimonte nelle prime heat, seguite da un secondo posto nella prima prefinale. In finale, il britannico battaglia duramente con Tymoteus Kucharczyk (RK/TM Racing), Karol Pasiewicz (Birel Art/ TM Racing) e Arvid Lindblad (KR/Iame), portandosi in testa solo negli ultimi metri. Nel secondo round, Slater vince la prefinale che gli assicura la partenza in prima fila in finale e, giocando d’astuzia, gli basta un quinto posto per mettere le mani sul titolo. Lindblad è secondo in classifica anche grazie a un terzo posto nella seconda finale, mentre Pasiewicz conclude in terza posizione. Da segnalare la vittoria di Martinius Stenshorne (Birel Art/TM Racing) nella seconda finale.

Maciej Gladysz (Parolin/TM Racing) conclude nel migliore dei modi la propria stagione. Il polacco si mette in evidenza fin dalle qualifiche e raccoglie poi una vittoria e un secondo posto nelle due prefinali. Gladysz non lascia scampo a nessuno, assicurandosi il successo nella prima finale grazie a una penalità inflitta a Gerasim Skulanov (IPK/TM Racing) e termina successivamente quinto nella seconda, laureandosi campione. Il vincitore dell’altra finale è Tiziano Monza (KR/Iame), progredito costantemente durante tutto il weekend. Il pilota Sauber Karting Team somma questa vittoria al terzo posto del primo round: quanto basta per garantirgli il secondo posto nella classifica di campionato. FROM WSK TO… F1 Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin are the new duo of Haas F1 drivers, both making their debut in the topflight of motorsport after a career that started ... right from the WSK series. It was in fact 2013 when the German (debuting) and the Russian (with a racing season already behind him) found themselves competing in the WSK Master Series (as it was then called, before being renamed WSK Super Master Series starting from 2014) with the Tony Kart Racing Team, in the KFJ class (now called the OKJ class). Their first international karting experience together ended with a 16th and a 4th place respectively in the championship. The season continued in the WSK Euro Series where the gap between the two narrowed: Mick finished 19th, while Nikita finished 18th in the final championship rankings. In 2014, Schumacher stayed in KFJ and finished 10th in the final rankings of the WSK Super Master Series, while Mazepin moved to KF and achieved an 8th place in the same championship. The two then left karting to move to single-seaters: Schumacher graduated as vice-champion of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, a series also promoted by WSK, and the German F4 in 2016; he won the European F3 in 2018 and the F2 in 2020; for his part, Mazepin came second in the GP3 Series in 2018, third in the Asian F3 in 2019-20 and won two F2 races in 2020. Now, for them, the most important challenge of all: F1.

Mick Schumacher e Nikita Mazepin sono la nuova coppia di piloti della Haas in F1, entrambi all’esordio nella massima serie dell’automobilismo dopo un cammino partito… Proprio dalle serie WSK. Correva infatti l’anno 2013 quando il tedesco (al debutto) e il russo (con una stagione di corse già alle spalle) si ritrovano a competere nella WSK Master Series (così si chiamava, prima di essere ribattezzata WSK Super Master Series a partire dal 2014) con i colori del Tony Kart Racing Team, nella categoria KFJ (oggi OKJ). La loro prima esperienza kartistica internazionale insieme si conclude, rispettivamente, con un 16° e un 4° posto in campionato. La stagione prosegue nella WSK Euro Series dove il divario tra i due si riduce: Mick è 19°, mentre Nikita è 18° nella classifica finale del campionato. Nel 2014, Schumacher rimane nella KFJ e termina 10° nella classifica finale della WSK Super Master Series, mentre Mazepin passa alla KF e agguanta un 8° posto nel medesimo campionato. I due lasciano poi il karting per passare alle monoposto: Schumacher si laurea vicecampione dell’Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, serie promossa sempre da WSK, e della F4 tedesca nel 2016; vince la F3 europea nel 2018 e la F2 nel 2020; dal canto suo, Mazepin è secondo nella GP3 Series nel 2018, terzo nella F3 asiatica nel 2019-20 e trionfa in due gare della F2 nel 2020. Ora, per loro, la sfida più importante: la F1.

The 2021 WSK Super Master Series final classification is obtained by adding up, for each Driver, all the results of the HEATS, PREFINAL and FINAL. In case of ex-aequo the highest number of best positions in the FINAL will be decisive. In case of further ex-aequo, the highest number of best positions in the PREFINAL will be decisive. In case of further ex-aequo, the highest number of best positions in the final ranking of the HEATS will be decisive.

For every event the Drivers can use the following material. Chassis: max 2 models whose make is to be specified by the Entrants on their registration, in line with the FIA KARTING Technical Regulations. Engines: max 2 models whose make is to be specified by the Entrants on their registration, in line with the FIA KARTING Technical Regulations. The material will be identified at Scrutineering (location and time to be indicated in the Event Supplementary Regulations) by the Scrutineers.

Every Driver can use from the beginning of the Qualifying Practice, Qualifying Heats, PREFINAL and FINAL: . OK, OK-Junior, KZ2 = max 10 slick or rain tyres, (5 front tyres and 5 rear tyres); . MINI = max 6 slick or rain tyres, (3 front tyres and 3 rear tyres). OK: slick: LECONT SVC PRIME - rain: LECONT SV1. OK-Junior: slick: VEGA XH3 OPTION - rain: VEGA W6. KZ2: slick : VEGA XM3 PRIME - rain: VEGA W6. MINI: slick: M1 VEGA - rain: WM1 VEGA. The rain tyres must to be of the same make as the Slick tyres. Tyres are distributed by a draw and must be paid for on each event directly to the relevant Manufacturer and will be controlled with the “Barcode” system during the Qualifying Practice, Qualifying Heats, PREFINAL and FINAL. It is mandatory to use new tyres in the Qualifying Practice.

I pneumatici sono distribuiti per sorteggio ed a pagamento, in sede di gara, direttamente dalla Casa interessata e saranno controllati con il sistema di “Barcode” durante le prove ufficiali di qualificazione, le manche eliminatorie, PREFINALE e FINALE. Sarà obbligatorio utilizzare pneumatici nuovi nelle prove ufficiali di qualificazione.

GASOLINE

The gasoline (KART RON102) will be given on the track with 25 lt containers by PANTA SPA in compliance with the FIA KARTING Technical Regulations (Art. 21). DIGATRON DT 15 devices are used to control that the gasoline complies with these regulations, comparing it with a sample taken from the fuel distributor (PANTA SPA). In addition, the Stewards of the meeting, after hearing the opinion of the Technical Scrutineers, are entitled to rule, at their sole discretion, that the entire contents of a vehicle’s gas tank be replaced with a mix consisting of gasoline taken from the fuel distributor above and oil, whose make and percentage shall be declared by the Entrant.

La benzina (KART RON102) sarà distribuita direttamente in pista dalla società PANTA SPA con fustini da 25 litri conforme al Regolamento Tecnico FIA KARTING (Art.21). La conformità della benzina è controllata con apparecchiature DIGATRON DT 15, per comparazione con campione prelevato dalla PANTA. I Commissari Sportivi, sentiti i Commissari Tecnici, hanno inoltre la facoltà di disporre, a loro discrezione, la sostituzione dell’intero contenuto del serbatoio con la miscela costituita da benzina prelevata dal distributore di cui sopra e di olio di marca e percentuale dichiarati dal concorrente.
