Here we are at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, one of the most recent among the great circuits on the international scene, which has quickly become an icon among the two and four wheel fans. At this venue, the Formula Regional European Championship is gearing up for another highspeed weekend, with a championship that is still quite open and that in its second year continues to excite us with increasingly compelling races, also thanks to many outsiders who are always ready to step into the limelight. A great deal of satisfaction for ACI Sport, WSK Promotion and the technical partners Tatuus, Alfa Romeo, Pirelli and Autotecnica Motori, whose formula has succeeded in the goal of giving life to a truly balanced series. And a pleasure for fans who, as is easy to predict, will be able to enjoy a memorable championship with these drivers that we hope, one day, to see again here in Barcelona, perhaps racing in Formula 1.

ALL THE RECORDS OF THE FORMULA REGIONAL EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP It’s the talk of the town among motorsport fans, moreover, it could not be otherwise: the records set by Lewis Hamilton in Formula 1 are certainly destined to be remembered for a long time. Also, if it is true that it is the great champions who write the history of all sports, some of the credit also goes to those who, like ACI Sport and WSK Promotion, strive to develop them.
As to records, some drivers of the Formula Regional European Championship have also achieved important milestones in these first two years of the championship. Remember these names: who knows whether we will not see them, one day, at the start of some more important series in an attempt to chase more new records.

GLOBAL RESONANCE A competitive and high-profile car championship must devote the same attention to the media as it does to technical and sporting issues, if it is to achieve the relevance it aspires to. This is also important, above all, for the drivers who take part in it, for whom visibility is a fundamental factor for the continuation of their career. ACI Sport and WSK Promotion know this well and this is why, since the beginning of the Formula Regional European Championship project, they have been committed to ensuring it gets top-level media coverage. To achieve this goal, in relation to videos it was decided to involve two important companies with years of experience in the field of motorsport communication. EMPA, which is entrusted with the role of distributing all the video content relating to the Formula Regional European Championship, is responsible, thanks to widespread satellite coverage, for broadcasting all the video productions of each individual race via a long list of broadcasters that manage to reach millions of people around the world. From the point of view of live coverage, live streaming had to be part of the broadcasts, accessible through the network of the partner Motorsport.tv (the second quality partnership in terms of video transmission of the championship) and through the official Facebook page of the championship, for an even more direct interaction with all motorsport fans.

Patrik Pasma (KIC Motorsport) returned to the podium of the Formula Regional European Championship and did so by winning the first race of the weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. The Finn’s race was impeccable, with a perfect start from pole position, without giving his opponents any chance at all for all 18 laps. Behind him came Gianluca Petecof (Prema Powerteam), followed by teammate Arthur Leclerc, who managed to win the duel for the last step on the podium with Oliver Rasmussen (Prema Powerteam): in the last laps, the two had a really tough battle with a spectacular wheel-to-wheel at the Ascari. Behind them, Alessandro Famularo (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Gillian Henrion (Gillian Track Events GTE) were in front of Konsta Lappalainen (KIC Motorsport), penalised 5 seconds for not respecting the track limits on the first lap. A 10-second penalty was also handed to Pierre-Louis Chovet (Van Amersfoort Racing) for a contact with Englishman Jamie Chadwick (Prema Powerteam).

Patrik Pasma (KIC Motorsport) was once again the first to take the chequered flag in race 2, but a penalty of 5 seconds for an infraction committed during the restart behind the safety car, which entered the track after a contact between Emidio Pesce (DR Formula by RP Motorsport) and Gillian Henrion (Gillian Track Events GTE), allowed Oliver Rasmussen (Prema Powerteam) to win the race. The race turned out to have numerous twists, above all the contact between Arthur Leclerc (Prema Powerteam) and Gianluca Petecof (Prema Powerteam) which took place during the eighth lap when exiting the Roggia. Both were forced to return to the pits, Leclerc to fix a damaged front wing, Petecof to replace a punctured righ rear tyre. The safety car, called back to the track after the accident between Nico Göhler (KIC Motorsport) and Jamie Chadwick (Prema Powerteam), allowed both of them to catch up and allowed Petecof to finish sixth, while Leclerc had to return to the pits due to a fire. So, it was Rasmussen who won the race, followed by Konsta Lappalainen (KIC Motorsport) and Pierre-Louis Chovet (Van Amersfoort Racing). 3
Pierre-Louis Chovet Van Amersfoort Racing

Patrik Pasma (KIC Motorsport) won for a second time in one weekend ahead of Gianluca Petecof (Prema Powerteam) and Konsta Lappalainen (KIC Motorsport) in race 3. The Finn, who started in second position, leapt into the lead as early as the first lap, overtaking pole sitter Arthur Leclerc (Prema Powerteam). Petecof moved behind him during the third lap, trying to put him under pressure, but without success, while Leclerc began to lose ground, ending the race in sixth position. Konsta Lappalainen managed to get the better of Oliver Rasmussen (Prema Powerteam) to come third, as the Dane, in the last lap, was forced to take the escape route at the first bend, allowing Pierre-Louis Chovet (Van Amersfoort Racing) to catch up. Gillian Henrion (Gillian Track Events GTE) was the only driver who had to withdraw due to a collision with Jamie Chadwick (Prema Powerteam) on the first lap, for which the British driver was penalised 5 seconds.
