This circuit made racing history in Italy and not only, as the world’s greatest drivers left their mark of talent and speed on these corners. Today it is the lucky turn of the next generation of drivers to burn their path on this circuit, those who are battling for the possibility of a professional career. The beginning of the new F4 series in Adria was welcomed by widespread enthusiasm, from the track to the stands, from the paddock to media coverage. The mythical atmosphere that surrounds the Imola raceway and its landscape can only help to fuel the passion of those who today are here on track and of everyone else around them, who works to add new chapters in the great history of motorsports.

STROLL TAKES THE FIRST RACE
The first of the three races on schedule for the inaugural round of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth goes to Prema Power driver Lance Stroll. The Canadian starts the final from pole position and stays on mark, driving the best lap of the race and keeping ahead of his expert teammate Brandon Maisano. At the end of the race (28 minutes + 1 lap for a total of 24 laps), Stroll has an advantage of over 7 seconds over the rest of the field. Maisano keeps behind him until the end, but his 2nd place finish doesn’t count towards the championship: being over 18 years old, he is in contention for the minor F4 Trophy. This means that rivals following behind him move up a spot in the standings. The race podium is thus rounded off by Andrea Russo (Diegi Motorsport), third at the finish, and MatteoCairoli (Antonelli Motorsport), who crosses the line fourth after an able pass over Ukyo Sasahara (Euronova Racing by Fortec).
2

f4 - round 1 - adria - race 2 REPORT
ASIAN VICTORY
In every round of the F4 Italian Championship powered by Abarth, Race 2 starts with the inversion of the top 10 spots compared to the finishing order of Race 1. Russian driver Ivan Matveev (SMP Racing) thus takes pole position, but when the lights go off his engine doesn’t start and stands still on grid (the same thing happens to Drudi in row 3, P5). Matteo Cairoli (Antonelli Motorsport) finds him in his path and can’t avoid crashing into him. The safety car enters the field and the race is “frozen” with these names in the top five: Ukyo Sasahara and Leonardo Pulcini (both Euronova Racing by Fortec), then Lance Stroll (Prema Power Team), Andrea Russo (Diegi Motorsport), and Brandon Maisano (Prema Power Team). When the race resumes, Pulcini loses the lead to Stroll and two back-to-back duels ensue: Stroll hounds Sasahara and Russo presses and then passes Pulcini. The order of arrival is Sasahara, Stroll and Russo.
4

f4 - round 1 - adria - race 3 REPORT
RUSSO ON THE FLY
Andrea Russo (Diegi Motorsport) ends the weekend with a stunning victory. He takes advantage of Stroll’s mistake at the start, sweeps past Maisano, and takes off, scoring the best lap of the race (1’16.534). He has close to a 9 second advantage when he crosses the finish-line. Mattia Drudi (Adria Raceway by Cram) also starts out beautifully and, holding an incredible pace, works his way up to third, then something goes wrong and he comes to a halt. Leonardo Pulcini (Euronova Racing by Fortec) takes his place and on lap 15 he goes after a struggling Maisano. The older rival isn’t really in his way, since Maisano’s position on field only counts towards the F4 Trophy and not the F4 Championsip, yet the Italian decides to oust him anyways with a pass that alone was worth the trip to Adria. Alain Valente (Jenzer Motorsport), in turn, overtakes Ukyo Sasahara (Euronova Racing by Fortec) and closes third.

COCKPIT FOCUS In all honesty, like it or not, “she” is the ultimate star of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, this stunning single-seater. We will discover a detail at each round, starting from the cockpit
EGA WITH PADDLE SHIFT Horsepower is distributed to the gearbox by the Magneti Marelli electronic actuator. It is the first time that EGA technology is used in this kind of competitions, with paddle controls optimizing shifting times.
STEERING WHEEL The ergonomic hand controls at the steering wheel activate the 6-speed sequential Sadev gearbox. Ignition is also managed through an electric push-pull activator produced by MagnetiMarelli. VOLANTE Il cambio Sadev, sequenziale a sei rapporti ha i comandi al volante (prodotto in modo perfettamente ergonomico). L’attuazione elettrica è gestita dalla centralina Magneti Marelli.

WINNER’S FUTURE Living the dream, from karts to single-seaters Dal karting alle monoposto per non svegliarsi mai Every kid who discovers his racing passion on kart tracks dreams, one day, of making it into Formula 1.There isn’t a single karterout there, raise your hand if you know one, who hasn’t imagined himself in the highest category of four-wheel racing,at least once. The gap between karts and Formula 1 cars is immense, true. Only a small percentage of drivers succeed in the career climb and not for lack of talent, but simply because there are only so many spots available in F1: just 22 drivers on grid every season and often the same ones from year to year. And yet, the dream lives on. And this is why theItalian F4 Championship powered by Abarth came about. The formula series is targeted to young drivers who want to transition from karts to cars and keep living the dream. The mission might seem (almost) impossible, but this doesn’t mean one shouldn’t try in the best of possible ways. The goal of theItalian F4 Championship powered by Abarthis to raiseawareness about the world of formula car racing. Karting is usually the first step in drivers’ careers, but the step to big open wheels is huge and it usually takes time to figure out how things work. The Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarthwants to accelerate the learning process, without “traumatizing” career development. The winner of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth will be rewarded with knowledge and the honor of success, as well as a 40.000 euro cash prize. In addition, both the champion and the vice-champion will have the opportunity to attend the Italian automotive federation’s High Speed Supercoursein Vallelunga and to keep dreaming.
