EDITORIALE
If it were cycling, we would write that the “final sprint” begins this weekend at Muro Leccese. That’s because, after the first couple of exciting rounds, only two remain to decide who wins the prestigious 2016 WSK Super Master Series. Naturally, the competition is still wide open, but the opportunities left to score points are decreasing and every mistake, from here on out, could be telling. The adrenaline is rising, along with the roar of the engines. All eyes are on the starting lights, ready to press the accelerator pedal with all the energy needed to chase this dream.
Fossimo nel ciclismo, si direbbe che questo weekend, a Muro Leccese, si comincia a “tirare la volata”. Già, perché, dopo i due primi, entusiasmanti, round, ne mancano solamente altri due per assegnare i prestigiosi trofei della WSK Super Master Series 2016. Tutto, naturalmente, è ancora aperto, ma le occasioni rimaste per conquistare punti non sono più così tante e ogni errore, da qui in avanti, può essere una sentenza decisiva. L’adrenalina sale, insieme al rombo dei motori. Gli occhi sono puntati sul semaforo del via, pronti a scaricare sul pedale dell’acceleratore tutta l’energia necessaria per inseguire il proprio sogno.

On Friday, the French Abbasse (Sodikart-TM) made clear that his leadership is well deserved, even though the Italian Lorandi (Tony Kart-Vortex), the best in KZ2, is in close pursuit. Th ird performance for Camplese (ParolinTM). Saturday Lorandi, a KZ2 entrant, won two heats, fi rst beat Iglesias, then Lammers (both on Sodikart-TM), grabbing the Pre-fi nal A pole. On his side will take the start Abbasse. Lammers is the pole-sitter of Pre-fi nal B, near his team-mate Iglesias. In the fi nal, the Italian Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex) was able to grab the head of the race overtaking the Sodi kart drivers Iglesias, Lammers and Abbasse. Th is one, eventually, was able to be the runner-up. Th ird position for the Italian De Conto (CRG-Maxter). On the starting grid Giacomo Pollini (CRG-TM) managed to gain the top positions. Then, he lost positions, even though he managed to keep the head of the KZ2 standings. On the other hand, Lorandi dropped back to the last positions and, after recovering as far as second, he got hit by a ten-second penalty. Mauro Simoni (DR-TM) took advantage of the situation and was the runner-up. Th ird place for the Italian Musio (CRG-TM).

Venerdì, il francese Anthony Abbasse (Sodikart-TM) ribadisce la sua leadership con il miglior tempo, ma l’italiano Lorandi (Tony Kart-Vortex) gli è a ridosso, imponendosi in KZ2. Terzo Camplese (Parolin-TM) dvanti a Lammers (Sodikart-TM). Sabato, Lorandi, iscritto in KZ2, vince le sue due manche regolando prima Iglesias e poi Lammers (Sodikart-TM). L’italiano si aggiudica, così, la pole della Prefinale A. Accanto a lui scatterà il francese Abbasse. In Prefinale B sarà Lammers a partire in pole, con accanto il compagno Iglesias (Sodikart-TM). In finale, il plotone Sodi Kart è temibile ma Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex) supera uno per uno Iglesias, Lammers e Abbasse ritrovandosi in testa dopo i giri iniziali. Dietro, Abbasse riesce a emergere dal duello con i compagni di team e segue Ardigò, ma deve tenere a bada l’italiano De Conto (CRG-Maxter), che chiuderà terzo al traguardo. Al via della gara che riunisce KZ e KZ2, si inserisce tra i più forti anche Giacomo Pollini (CRG-TM). L’italiano perde, poi, alcune posizioni ma si mantiene leader della classifica della KZ2. Lorandi scende invece in fondo al gruppo, per poi vedersi penalizzare di 10” dopo essere risalito secondo. Ne beneficia Mauro Simoni (DR-TM), diventato secondo davanti a Luigi Musio (CRG-TM).

OK REPORT - ROUND 2
THRILLING RACE
Thrilling situation in the OK, with the Polish Karol Basz (Kosmic-Vortex) who is currently in 15th place in the standings and needs to gain positions: he grabbed the pole. Behind him the French Clement Novalak, only 42 milliseconds slower, followed by the Danish Nicklas Nielsen (both on Tony Kart-Vortex) and the Chinese Yue Yang Sun (FA Kart-Vortex). Two victories in the heats were not enough, and the Italian Felice Tiene (CRG-Parilla) was beaten into second position by Nielsen, who won once and placed second twice, but had performed better in qualifying. In the Final Tom Joyner (Zanardi-Parilla) was eager to achieve a great result: on the last laps, the English led the race after overtaking Nielsen, but his engine broke and he was obliged to retire. The Brit’s retirement slowed Nielsen too, and the Italian Fabrizio Travisanutto (Tony KartVortex) took over the leadership of the race. Behind him, also Novalak gained ground and finished in second ahead of the Spanish Hiltbrand (CRG-Parilla).

Situazione frizzante in OK, con il polacco Karol Basz (Kosmic-Vortex) che, per recuperare dal 15° posto in classifica, incomincia con l’aggiudicarsi la pole. Alle sue spalle il francese Clement Novalak, a soli 42 millesimi, seguito dal danese Nicklas Nielsen (entrambi su Tony KartVortex) e dal cinese Yue Yang Sun (FA Kart-Vortex). Nelle manche, due vittorie non bastano a Felice Tiene (CRG-Parilla) per ottenere la pole nella Prefinale: l’exaequo con Nielsen, vincitore nella terza gara e secondo nelle altre due, si risolve a favore del danese, grazie al suo miglior risultato in prova. In finale, parte con le migliori intenzioni Tom Joyner (Zanardi-Parilla): negli ultimi giri l’inglese riesce a installarsi in testa, ma la rottura del motore, con il brusco stop che determina anche il rallentamento di Nielsen, riporta la leadership a Fabrizio Travisanutto (Tony KartVortex). Alle sue spalle si avvantaggia anche Novalak, secondo davanti allo spagnolo Hiltbrand (CRG-Parilla).

RUSSIAN POWER
The Russian Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart-Vortex) was fastest driver in Qualifying. Excellent performance also for the Italian Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo-LKE), the best in his session and second in the overall ranking. Third the Brazilian Caio Collet, followed by the Belgian Ulysse De Pauw (both on BirelArtParilla). Saturday the Swedish Isaac Blomqvist (Tony KartVortex) hauled himself to the top of the ranking thanks to his 3 victories: he will be the pole sitter of the Prefinal A. Next to him the Dutch Watt (Tony Kart-Vortex). In the Prefinal B, pole position for the Russian Bogdan Fetisov (Tony Kart-TM), who won once as well as the Spanish David Vidales (Energy-TM). The other victories went to Dmitrii Bogdanov (FA KartVortex), Ivan Shvetsov (Tony Kart-Vortex) and Fusco. In the final, the battle for the victory between Blomqvist and Watt came to a sudden end during the last laps, when the two drivers came in contact. Shvetsov took advantage of the situation and won a WSK race for the first time ahead of Fetisov and De Pauw, third after Bulantsev penalization.

Il russo Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart-Vortex), 8° in classifica provvisoria, è il più rapido nelle prove ufficiali. Ottimo anche il napoletano Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo-LKE), migliore nel suo turno e 2° nel ranking generale. 3° il brasiliano Caio Collet, seguito dal belga Ulysse De Pauw (entrambi BirelArt-Parilla). Nelle manche, lo svedese Isaac Blomqvist (Tony Kart-Vortex) va in cima al ranking con 3 vittorie e conquista la pole in Prefinale A. Al suo fianco scatterà il danese Noah Watt (Tony Kart-Vortex), regolarmente tra i primi in gara. In prefinale B la pole è per il russo Bogdan Fetisov (Tony Kart-TM), vittorioso in una manche così come lo spagnolo David Vidales (Energy-TM), che lo affianca in prima fila. Le altre vittorie di manche vanno a Dmitrii Bogdanov (FA Kart-Vortex), Ivan Shvetsov (Tony Kart-Vortex) e Fusco. In finale, la lotta per la vittoria tra lo svedese Blomqvist e l’olandese Watt si interrompe negli ultimi giri, a causa di una toccata tra i due. Buon per il russo Shvetsov, che ne approfitta andando a vincere la sua prima gara WSK davanti al compatriota Fetisov e Bulantsev, poi penalizzato. Al suo posto sale De Pauw

MINÌ WINS MINI
Saturday, after Qualifying Practice and many heats, the frontrunner of the 60 Mini category is the Italian Gabriele Minì (Energy-TM): he won three times, while Alexandros Kattoulas (Tony Kart-TM) fi nished in fi rst position only twice. The other victories of the heats went to Andrea Antonelli (Exprit-TM), Michael Paparo (IP Karting-TM) and Francesco Pizzi (Energy-Iame). Sunday, after a long series of batt les in the heats, the Italian Gabriele Minì pulled away in the Final. Behind him, an unstoppable Michael Paparo (IP Karting-TM), who fi nished second. Good result also for Leonardo Bizzotto (CRG-TM), third.

Sabato, dopo le qualifiche e la gran parte delle manche, il favorito è il siciliano Gabriele Minì (Energy-TM), che ottiene 3 successi, contro i 2 di Alexandros Kattoulas (Tony Kart-TM). Vittoriosi nelle manche sono anche Andrea Antonelli (Exprit-TM), Michael Paparo (IP Karting-TM) e Francesco Pizzi (Energy-Iame). Domenica, dopo altre battaglie nelle manche rimaste da disputare, il palermitano Gabriele Minì (Energy-TM) prende il largo in finale, allungando su Michael Paparo che, dopo aver tentato di recuperare terreno, conclude al secondo posto. Un bel risultato anche il terzo posto di Leonardo Bizzotto (CRG-TM).
