Making corrections during a race to improve things is something that happens in karting. Are the lap times not up to scratch? Adjust the set-up, change the type of carburetion and the fun begins, while results start to improve. That’s what happens to those who spend their time at the track. For us, who organise things “from the outside”, our approach doesn’t vary. It was necessary to come up with something for this WSK Super Master Series, because the stop at Lonato was inevitable, but it was also right to give the public, the teams and the drivers a guarantee of a complete and spectacular season right to the end. Hence the double date in Sarno, the pride of international karting and the ideal venue for two rounds that follow closely, one after the other: an injection of pace, rivalry and competition in an exciting final sprint to the championship.

Correggersi in corsa, per migliorarsi, è qualcosa di noto nell’ambito del karting. I tempi non sono quelli sperati? Si aggiusta l’assetto, si cambia approccio alla carburazione ed ecco che il divertimento aumenta e i risultati iniziano ad arrivare. Questo è quello che succede a chi la pista la vive da dentro. Per noi, che organizziamo “da fuori”, l’approccio non cambia. C’era bisogno di inventarsi qualcosa per questa WSK Super Master Series, perché è stato inevitabile fermarsi a Lonato, ma era anche doveroso garantire a pubblico, team e piloti, una stagione completa e spettacolare fino in fondo. Così, ecco il doppio appuntamento a Sarno, tracciato fiore all’occhiello del karting internazionale e sede ideale per i due round ravvicinati: un’iniezione di ritmo, agonismo e competizione per un’entusiasmante volata finale di campionato.

Paolo De Conto (CRG / TM) makes a charge in a challenge with a global flavor. In fact, in the head duel of the weekend, there are present three worldwide of the maximum gear categories: two of those won by the CRG driver and one of Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart / Vortex) who, in this case, must be satisfied with the final second position. With this victory, De Conto also moves first in the general classification (thanks to the victory in the prefinals) and probably clarifies which name needs to be defeated in this WSK Super Master Series. To close out the podium spots, we find the Czech Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex), a character with a performance without flaws. In the course of the race, to be pointed out also is the momentary leadership of Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart / Vortex): in the lead from the fourth to the eight circuit, the Finnish driver, later, slows down due to a contact with Ardigò and ends up the race only in ninth position.

Paolo De Conto (CRG / TM) suona la carica in una sfida dal sapore mondiale. Nel duello di testa di questo week end, infatti, ci sono sul tavolo tre mondiali della massima categoria a marce: due quelli vinti dal pilota CRG, e uno quello di Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart / Vortex) che, in questo caso, deve accontentarsi della seconda piazza finale. Con questa vittoria De Conto sale anche primo nella classifica generale (grazie alla vittoria anche in prefinale) e mette probabilmente le cose in chiaro su chi debba essere il nome da battere in questa WSK Super Master Series. A chiudere il podio troviamo il ceco Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex), protagonista di una prestazione equilibrata e senza sbavature. Nel corso della gara da segnalare anche la leadership momentanea di Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart / Vortex): in testa dal quarto giro fino all’ottavo, il pilota finlandese, in seguito, rallenta a causa di un contatto con Ardigò e finisce la gara solo in nona posizione.

A comeback that leaves a sign, that was executed by Zane Maloney (FA Kart / Vortex). A victory that comes from afar, and not only because the winner’s place of origin is the Barbados. It comes from afar because, in the finals, Maloney started as far back as the ninth position and winning the race by his overtaking the leader only a few laps from the end. A thrilling battle, therefore, which presented as challengers both Jonny Edgar (Exprit / TM), who arrived second, and Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex), reaching the finish line in fifth position. On the podium, instead, with a great final leap, the Spanish Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM), clever in being prepared when his competitors slightly lower their guard. Finally, deserving to be mentioned is Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Parilla): part of the final by the skin of his teeth, in the race that matters, he jumps ahead 23 positions, and despite a penalty, he concludes the race in eleventh place.

Una rimonta che lascia il segno, quella effettuata da Zane Maloney (FA Kart / Vortex). Una vittoria che viene da lontano, e non solo perché il paese di provenienza del vincitore sono le Barbados. Viene da lontano anche perché, in finale, Maloney partiva addirittura dalla nona posizione e il sorpasso vincente è arrivato solo a pochi giri dalla conclusione. Una lotta emozionante, quindi, che ha avuto come sfidanti sia Jonny Edgar (Exprit / TM), all’arrivo secondo, sia Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex), giunto quinto al traguardo. Sul podio sale invece, con un bel guizzo finale, lo spagnolo Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM), furbo a farsi trovare preparato quando gli avversari abbassano leggermente la guardia. Infine, merita una menzione Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Parilla): entrato in [ OK ] RANKING finale per il rotto della P. A race full or overtaking, lead swapping and entertainment, with lots of drivers who, until the last moment, try to pull out the victory. In the end, though, only one excels: in this case, David Hadrien (Kosmic / Vortex). The French driver, started in seventh position, but he is the hero of a great start to then become the winner maintaining first place at about half the race. Behind him the Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto (CRG / TM), very good at following the winner’s contrail and comes in second. Concluding the podium positions is the Estonian Paul Aron (FA Kart / Vortex), who brushes with the leadership dream, even if short-lived, in the very first phases of the race. His too, however, is an excellent comeback, if one thinks that at the start he was in the third row. Finally, regarding the leader’s rank, Kirill Smal (Tony Kart / Vortex), wins his pre-final while being only ninth in the finals. The awarded points, however, presently maintain him in front of everyone.

Una gara ricca di sorpassi, avvicendamenti in testa e spettacolo, con tanti piloti che provano fino all’ultimo a strappare la vittoria. A primeggiare, alla fine, è però come sempre uno solo: in questo caso, David Hadrien (Kosmic / Vortex). Il pilota francese parte dalla settima posizione, ma si rende protagonista di una buona partenza, per poi passare definitivamente in testa a circa metà gara. Alle sue spalle il brasiliano Gabriel Bortoleto (CRG / TM), bravo a seguire la scia del vincitore e a ottenere la piazza d’onore. Chiude il podio l’estone Paul Aron (FA Kart / Vortex), che accarezza anche il sogno della leadership, seppur momentanea, nelle primissime fasi di gara. Anche la sua è comunque un’ottima rimonta, se si pensa che al momento della partenza era in terza fila. Per quanto [ OKJ ] RANKING riguarda, infine, il P. Name Points leader di classifica, 1 Smal Kirill 157 Kirill Smal (Tony Kart 2 Bortoleto Gabriel 121 / Vortex) vince la sua 3 Minì Gabriele 121 4 Hadrien David 112 prefinale, mentre è solo 5 Aron Paul 110 nono in finale. I punti 6 O‘Sullivan Zak 82 conquistati, comunque, 7 Barnard Taylor 77 lo mantengono 8 Van Hoepen Laurens 56 9 Beganovic Dino 47 al momento davanti 10 Dufek Josh 29 a tutti.

Amongst the young Mini’s drivers, Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Energy / TM), in the final, does a solo: starts first and finishes first. The Italian driver demonstrates not feeling the tension at all and tames a certainly not so easy race, at least on paper. Furthermore, he obtains an important jump in the general ranking: he is now second. Behind him, we find Martinius Stenshorne (Parolin / TM Racing), who, with this score proves himself as the leader, and Kirill Kutskov (Energy / TM), protagonist of a crescendo weekend. Everything has now changed and that total now stands at 132. Alex Irlando, the former leader of the standings, is in second place on 101 points.
