EDITORIAL by Luca De Donno The time has finally come for great international karting, once again. Two months have passed since the first round of WSK Euro Series held in Sarno and the summer break has given WSK Promotion the chance to recharge its batteries and prepare for an electrifying second half of the season. This week’s menu already includes a very rich dish featuring the spectacular double round at South Garda Karting, which will again involve all four classes and which we decide the names of the champions of the Euro Series 2020. It will be time to celebrate, while keeping an eye on forthcoming events. The Adria Karting Raceway awaits us in November for the Open Cup, which again this year is divided into two rounds, while December brings the Final Cup, which will take place in Sarno for the first time and celebrates the last chapter of what will undoubtedly be remembered as a peculiar season, albeit one in which WSK Promotion never stopped, as promised.

NEWS & NEXT EVENTS
WSK HOSTS THE ITALIAN OK-OKJ CHAMPIONSHIP The weekend, which includes round 2 and round 3 of the WSK Euro Series and celebrates the conclusion of the championship at South Garda in Lonato, promises to provide great entertainment. Indeed, in addition to assigning the titles of the continental series by WSK, there’s also the OK and OK-Junior Italian ACI Karting Championship. More specifically, the title of Italian Champion in the international non-shifter classes will be awarded during the second round of the WSK Euro Series. For the purposes of the Italian standings, only the order of finishes in the respective finals in round 2 of the WSK Euro Series will count. Therefore, as was already the case in 2019, WSK Promotion once again “welcomes” the Italian ACI-Karting Championship. Last season, the title was awarded at the end of the three Italian rounds of the Euro Series, held at the Circuito Internazionale in Naples, South Garda Karting and Adria Karting Raceway, the latter in the splendid setting of the Night Edition. However, for the 2020 edition, everything will be concentrated in a single round due to the health emergency that has played havoc with the calendars. All the adrenaline of a title awarded in a single race that adds to the battle for the conquest of the Euro Series: Lonato really does have all the ingredients for a week of great karting!

10 YEARS OF EURO SERIES
The podiums of the 2010 WSK Euro Series - Round 1 in La Conca
Although this weekend’s decider is the sixth edition, this year sees the WSK Euro Series celebrate its first ten years. You can therefore understand why, even in such a peculiar season, the entire WSK Promotion team worked flat out so that this championship, which has produced a number of new stars, could take place. Suffice it to say that the first race of the first edition of the WSK Euro Series, held at the La Conca circuit in March 2010, featured the following names on its entry list: Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Alexander Albon, Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, Antonio Giovinazzi, Nyck De Vries and the late Anthoine Hubert. In addition, of course, to the greats of karting: Marco Ardigò, Jonathan Thonon, Paolo De Conto, Davide Forè, Jorrit Pex, Bas Lammers and many more.

KZ2 - RANKING
In the early stages of the weekend, the competitiveness of Riccardo Longhi (Birel Art/TM Racing) did not particularly emerge compared to that of other drivers apparently aiming for the podium. Indeed, Adrien Renaudin (Sodikart/TM Racing), who achieved pole position, also shone; Matteo Viganò (Birel Art/TM Racing), winner of two heats but then retired in the third; Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart/Vortex), was first after the qualifying heats and Giuseppe Palomba (Birel Art/TM Racing). On Sunday, Longhi, who was in any case in second place after the heats, found a decisive rhythm: the Italian won the prefinal in front of Puhakka and, in the Final, started very well from pole position, unlike the Finn who found himself fifth and was forced to chase. Renaudin also started well, finishing second but over one second behind Longhi. In the end, it was Palomba on the podium, in front of Puhakka and Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K/TM Racing).

OK - RANKING P.
Oliver Gray (Birel Art/TM Racing) achieved a great victory in the OK class, which came at the end of a weekend in which the Englishman made no mistakes. After achieving pole position, being the best at the end of the qualifying heats and winning the prefinal, Gray, a debutant in this class, initially lost the lead in the Final in favour of the more experienced Juho Valtanen (KR/Iame), a driver involved in a contact which, in the prefinal, resulted in the withdrawal of Joe Turney (Tony Kart/ Vortex), another of the favourites. On the fourth lap, however, Gray was back in the lead and this time Valtanen was having a hard time, crossing the finish line in third place behind Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR/Iame), who stubbornly rose from seventh position. Not achieving a place on the podium, Dilano Van’t Hoff (Exprit/TM Racing) and Matheus Morgatto (Parolin/TM Racing) recovered to achieve 5th and 6th positions respectively.

Alfio Spina (KR/Iame) returned to the highest step on the podium at the Naples International Circuit, managing to get the better of several drivers who initially seemed to be the favourites to win the race. The Sicilian was second to none in terms of speed, but in the qualifying heats he made some mistakes, while Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Igor Cepil (KR/Iame) won the prefinals and were in the Final as the men to beat. Brando Badoer (KR/Iame) was also one of the best performers, but in the Sunday morning race he lost several positions and, in the final, managed to recover only to get close the podium. Spina, on the other hand, started from fifth position, took the lead as early as the second lap and, from there, flew towards victory. Taponen did not take advantage of his pole position and found himself third after just one lap, crossing the finish line behind Cepil. Finally, Arvid Lindblad (KR/Iame), returning from the triumph in the Super Master Series, was not on form this weekend.

60 MINI - RANKING
Darting forwards on the last lap, Kean NakamuraBerta (KR/Iame) got the better of Dmitry Matveev (Energy Corse/TM Racing), despite his attempts to respond to the Japanese driver in the last remnants of the race. It was a good weekend for the Russian, who came to try for victory after starting in fifth position. It was the same, of course, for Nakamura-Berta, who started from pole position, fell back to third position, also overtaken by Jan Przyrowsky (Parolin/TM Racing), but stubbornly achieved his above-mentioned success. Przyrowsky finished third, also getting clear of Guillaume Bouzar (Parolin/TM Racing), who gained nine places. However, things were not going according to plan for Christian Costoya Sanabria (CRG/TM Racing), who won the prefinal but compromised the Final with an excursion on the grass, and René Lammers (Parolin/ TM Racing), who started in third position, slipped to the bottom of the pile in the tussle on the first lap.
