There aren’t other ways to express the feeling one gets when gearing up for a great new karting season. The right word is excitement, so rich in meaning and hues. There is the thrill of hearing engines blare again for the first WSK race of the year. The adrenalin of a double challenge on back-to-back weekends to conquer the first titles of the season. The satisfaction of inaugurating a series, the Champions Cup, that WSK has been planning for a long time and that is finally coming true. There is also curiosity for what lies ahead and the desire to get a glimpse of the finish-lines that will mark the Super Master Series, the new CIK-FIA Europeans, and the World Championships. And, finally, there is also trepidation for the fantastic new Formula 4 adventure, an important step for WSK Promotion that comes as an important recognition, also beyond karting, of its world level competence and passion.
Non ci sono vocaboli diversi per esprimere i sentimenti di chi si appresta a vivere una nuova stagione di grande karting. Emozione è la parola giusta, che racchiude in sé tanti significati e tantissimi contenuti. C’è l’emozione di riaccendere i motori per la prima gara dell’anno WSK. L’adrenalina di un doppio appuntamento ravvicinato in cui giocarsi i primi titoli nell’arco di 2 weekend. La soddisfazione di inaugurare una serie, la Champions Cup, che era nei progetti della WSK da tempo e ora, finalmente, si realizza. La curiosità di guardare avanti e scorgere già i prossimi traguardi della Super Master Series, del nuovo europeo CIK-FIA e dei mondiali. Fino alla splendida avventura della Formula 4, che fa compiere un ulteriore step a WSK Promotion, riconoscendole, anche oltre i confini del karting, una competenza e una passione che possono consapevolmente dirsi al top nel mondo.

The WSK Champions Cup is the 2014 kick-off series: two back-to-back weekend events, on March 2nd and 9th, at the La Conca International Circuit in Muro Leccese, Italy.
WSK Promotion is the company founded by Luca De Donno in 2006. Its main goal is to eleveate the quality standards of international karting events.
La WSK Champions Cup è la serie che dà il via al calendario 2014. Due appuntamenti ravvicinati in programma nei week end consecutivi del 2 e del 9 marzo. Il circuito è quello internazionale de La Conca a Muro Leccese.
La WSK Promotion è una società di promozione nata nel 2006 dalla volontà di Luca De Donno. Ha l’obiettivo di elevare lo standard qualitativo del karting internazionale.
As last year, WSK Promotion will organize the CIK-FIA Europeans: 6 events (4 for KF/ KFJ, 3 for KZ/KZ2) between May and August. Come l’anno scorso, sarà WSK Promotion ad organizzare gli Europei CIK-FIA 2014: 6 round ravvicinati a categorie alterne (4 prove per KF/KFJ, 3 per KZ/KZ2) tra maggio e agosto.

It’s the big news for 2014: the singleseater series certified by FIA and dedicated to talents who come from the kart ranks. The start date is June 8th.

The 2014 WSK Super Master Series runs on three rounds: it takes off in Sarno on March 23, then moves to Castelletto di Branduzzo on April 13 and ends at La Conca on April 21. La WSK Super Master Series 2014 inizierà il 23 marzo con la gara inaugurale di Sarno. Poi altri due round, uno il 13 aprile a Castelletto di Branduzzo e quello finale del 27 aprile al circuito de La Conca a Muro Leccese.
The closing event of the 2014 WSK season will take place on November 2nd at the new track at the Adria International Raceway. L’ultimo appuntamento della stagione 2014 marchiato WSK. Si correrà il 2 novembre nel nuovo circuito Internazionale di Adria.

2014 EVENTS 2014 will be an intense racing season, starting in March and ending in November. The circuits involved are the three WSK “classics”: the La Conca track near Lecce, the Napoli International Circuit in Sarno, and the 7 Laghi venue in Castelletto di Branduzzo; plus the brand new track at the Adria International Raceway for the grand finale La stagione 2014 prevede un intenso programma che parte a marzo e si concluderà a novembre. La Formula 4 arriva in Italia con un obiettivo: essere la categoria capace di fare passare i piloti del karting nel mondo delle monoposto The inaugural edition of the F4 Italian Championship is set to run on seven rounds and promises to be exhilarating. The action will start on June 8 at the Adria International Raceway and will close five months later, on October 19, with a trip abroad to Barcelona, Spain. The goal of the new single-seater series is to offer young racing talents a chance to showcase their skills.
Sette appuntamenti per l’esordio di questo campionato che ha tutte le carte in regola per essere spumeggiante. Si comincerà l’8 giugno presso l’Adria International Raceway per poi terminare a Barcellona, il 19 ottobre, nell’unica tappa straniera. The F4 cars of the new FIA-certified Italian Series will be powered by Abarth engines. The model developed by the Turin-based motor company is a 1400 cc overpowered engine that reaches up to 160 HP. The championship has also secured broad media coverage, proving that it is already moving like a pro even at its debut. Another key feature of the new series is the rich prize purse: over 50,000 euro in awards, plus two positions at the Federal School Supercourse run by ACI-CSAI (Italy’s Motorsport Commission) for the top two Championship finishers. The new single-seaters are equipped with Tatuus chassis, the legendary brand that has also framed Formula Renault and Formula Abarth vehicles, and will run on an equally prestigious brand when it comes to tires, Pirelli. THE BEST OF... Competitiveness, skills, technique, courage, but above all passion. This is, for sure, the most important ingredient of the WSK racing world. Passion is what makes the great show possible every year, in every series, on every field, both in organizational terms and in terms of competition. The pleasure of stepping on track (or even simply of watching) has always been the solution to all problems. So the answer has always been letting passion go full throttle. The answer to what? To any question that has to do with the karting world! Agonismo, capacità, tecnica, coraggio, ma soprattutto passione. È proprio quest’ultimo, senza dubbio, fra tutti gli elementi, quello più importante nel mondo WSK. Senza la passione infatti, sia dal punto di vista organizzativo sia da quello competitivo, tanto dello spettacolo offerto non potrebbe essere tale. Il piacere di scendere in pista (o anche di osservarla) è da sempre la soluzione per ogni problema. Dare gas alla passione è, quindi, la risposta. Risposta a cosa? A qualsiasi domanda possa interessare il mondo del karting!

2013 MAX VERSTAPPEN The celebrity son (his father Jos raced in Formula 1) was the absolute ruler of 2013. True, he let the KF world title slip by, but overall he proved the most continuity and the best track management throughout the season. Not only, he graduated KZ World Champion, at his debut in the category, besides winning the double European title in KF and KZ.

Gli è sfuggito il titolo di campione del mondo KF, è vero; ma nel complesso ha dimostrato la maggiore continuità e la migliore capacità di leggere la pista. Non solo, sua la laurea di campione del mondo KZ, al debutto nella categoria, oltre al doppio titolo europeo in KF e in KZ.
2012 CALLUM ILOTT The English driver will remember 2012 for a long time. He managed to win the WSK Master Series in KF3 and also took home the WSK Final Cup. Then he had to “make do” with two second places, namely as European and World vice-champion. The Driver of the Year award was a due recognition of an absolutely dazzling season.
Il pilota inglese quel 2012 lo ricorderà ancora a lungo. Riuscì a vincere la WSK Master Series in KF3 e si portò a casa anche la WSK Final Cup. Poi si dovette “accontentare” di due secondi posti, ovvero i titoli di vice-campione europeo e del mondo. Il titolo di Driver of the Year, quindi, fu la giusta coronazione di un’annata strepitosa.
2011 NYCK DE VRIES When the tiny but mighty Dutch driver did his debut in the karting world, few would have bet on his talent. Instead, Nyck won the World title two years in a row, in 2010 and again in 2011, when he was also acclaimed as the first ever Driver of the Year in karting history. He is now “studying” at McLaren (on the Young Driver Programme) for his big career step towards Formula 1.
Quando questo piccolo grande pilota olandese debuttò nel mondo del karting pochi avrebbero scomesso sulla sua stoffa. Invece Nyck ha vinto il mondiale sia nel 2010 sia nel 2011. Proprio in quest’ultimo suo anno ha conquistato anche il primo Driver of the Year Award della storia. 2013 DORIAN BOCCOLACCI The French driver won the first ever WSK Talent Driver award, created to celebrate the best display of talent over the course of the season, based on the number of victories and the level of performance. In 2013, Dorian Boccolacci managed to triumph in the KF in both the WSK Euro Series and the Master Series. 2012

REGULATIONS FOCUS 1. MATERIAL In each event, every driver may use a maximum of 2 chassis of the brand declared at the time of entry, in compliance with CIK-FIA Technical Regulations for KF, KF Junior and KZ2 or with National CSAI Technical Regulations for the 60 Mini. All material will be verified by the Technical Commissioner during technical inspections. Each driver may use up to 2 engines that, like the chassis, have to be of the model/brand declared at the time of entry and compliant with pertaining regulations. Each competitor is allowed to use up to 10 tires in each round (official qualifying practice, eliminatory heats, Prefinal and Final). “Rain” tires have to be of the same brand as “slicks”. Fuel (Kart RON102) will be distributed directly on track by the producer, PANTA SPA, in 25 liter tanks.
Per ogni prova i conduttori possono disporre massimo di 2 telai della stessa marca dichiarata dai concorrenti in sede di iscrizione conformi al Regolamento Tecnico CIK-FIA per la KF, KF Junior, KZ2 e conformi al Regolamento Tecnico Nazionale CSAI per la 60 Mini. Il materiale sarà identificato durante le verifiche tecniche dal Commissario Tecnico. Due anche i motori disponibili che, come per i telai, devono essere della marca dichiarata in sede di iscrizione e conformi ai regolamenti pertinenti. Ad ogni partecipante sono concessi 10 pneumatici ad ogni gara (prove ufficiali di qualificazione, manche eliminatorie, Prefinale e Finale). Gli pneumatici “rain” devono essere della stessa marca dei pneumatici “slick”. La benzina (KART RON102) sarà distribuita direttamente in pista dalla società PANTA SPA con fustini da 25 litri.

3. BRIEFING All drivers and entrants are required to participate to the briefing prior each race event: failure to do so will result in payment of a fine.

4. PROTESTS AND APPEALS Complaints must be submitted in written form to the Race Director or a substitute official, immediately following the posting of results: within 10 minutes in the case of practice, heats, or repechage and within 30 minutes in the case of Prefinals and Finals.
I reclami vanno presentati in forma scritta al Direttore di Gara o a un suo aggiunto, immediatamente dopo l’affissione dei risultati: entro 10 minuti nel caso di prove, manche di qualifica, o ripescaggio ed entro 30 minuti nel caso di Prefinali e Finali.
5. POINT SYSTEM Essendo questa competizione disputata su due gare è doveroso considerare l’assegnazione dei punti. Il massimo dei punti disponibili al primo classificato (vedi tabella) è di 50 punti nel primo round e di 60 punti nel secondo e decisivo round. La WSK Champions Cup, quindi, andrà al pilota che nella doppia gara totalizzerà più punti totali. In caso di ex-aequo nel punteggio totalizzato, la discriminante sarà il numero di piazzamenti al top conseguiti nelle due FINALI. Nell’evenutalità l’ex-aequeo dovesse persistere, si andranno a valutare i migliori piazzamenti nelle due PREFINALI. © FotoFormulaK.com
Point assignment is a necessary item to consider, since the series is on two rounds. The maximum point tally that the best driver may reach is of 50 points in the first round and 60 points in the second and last round (see the chart to the left). The WSK Champions Cup will thus be awarded to the driver who accumulates the most points over both rounds. In case of an even point situation at the end of the series, the deciding factor will be who did best across the two FINALS. In case the even point situation persists, what will be taken into account are the results achieved in the two PREFINALS.
