As fast as a kart launched on a long final straight, the Super WSK Master Series in 2017 has come to its final sprint as well. On the familiar circuit of Sarno, the last races of the championships will establish the winners in all classes, which have remained wide open until the last. The sign of a balance that acknowledges the high quality of the drivers who took to the track, but also a championship format capable of giving everyone a chance to raise their arms to the sky and give emotions right up to the last metre of track. So let’s enjoy the final races of this our great trip. Recalling all the emotions and hardships experienced to get this far, and already beginning to dream of the next goals. To continue winning or looking for revenge.
Veloce come un kart, lanciato su un lungo rettilineo finale, anche la WSK Super Master Series 2017 è arrivata allo sprint finale. Sul familiare tracciato di Sarno, le ultime gare decreteranno i vincitori dei campionati che, in tutte le classi, sono rimasti apertissimi fino all’ultimo. Segno di un equilibrio che premia la grande qualità dei piloti scesi in pista, ma anche di un format di campionato capace di dare a tutti la possibilità di alzare le braccia al cielo e di regalare emozioni fino all’ultimo metro. Godiamoci, allora, le ultime gare di questo nostro bellissimo viaggio. Ricordando tutte le emozioni e le fatiche vissute per arrivare fino a qui, e iniziando già a sognare i prossimi traguardi. Per continuare a vincere o per provare a prendersi le proprie rivincite.

KZ2 REPORT
PATRIK HAJEK ON TAR Good start for the Dutch Bas Lammers (Sodi-TM), who managed to keep the leadership of the category in the KZ2 Qualifying. Behind him - only 25 milliseconds slower - the Italian Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex). After the heats, the Czeck Patrik Hajek (KosmicVortex) finished in top position thanks to two victories. The Kosmic driver had Ardigò next to him in the front row of the Prefinal A starting grid. The Dutch Jorrit Pex (CRGTM) was the pole-sitter of the Prefinal B, with the French Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K-TM) in second position. Also Alex Irlando (SodiTM) won one heat. Hajek confirmed to be a top achiever winning his Pre-final ahead of Ben Hanley (Croc PromotionTM). Then, in KZ2 final, he had to fight against Iglesias, the winner of the other Prefinal ahead of Jorge Pescador (Praga-TM). Hajek took leadership over from Iglesias at half race, and won ahead of Lammers and Ardigò.

Parte bene l’olandese Bas Lammers (Sodi-TM), che ribadisce la sua leadership di classifica con il miglior tempo in qualifica. Alle sue spalle, per 25 millesimi, Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex). Dopo le manche, emerge il ceco Patrik Hajek (Kosmic-Vortex) che, con due vittorie, conquista la pole della Prefinale A davanti ad Ardigò. Secondo nella fase eliminatoria, con una vittoria di manche, conclude l’olandese Jorrit Pex (CRG-TM), a sua volta in pole in Prefinale B, affiancato dal francese Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K-TM). Una vittoria di manche va anche a Alex Irlando (Sodi-TM). Hajek si conferma vincendo la sua prefinale davanti a Ben Hanley (Croc Promotion-TM). Poi, in finale, il ceco segue Iglesias, vincitore dell’altra Prefinale davanti a Jorge Pescador (Praga-TM), fino a metà gara, prima di sorpassarlo e andare a vincere. Con lui, sul podio, Lammers, risalito bene in finale, e Ardigò, che superano al fotofinish Iglesias. HANLEY

OK REPORT
NOVALAK STILL ON TO The Norwegian Dennis Hauger (CRG-Parilla) started his personal recovery in the championship achieving the best time in Qualifying ahead of the French Theo Pourchaire (Kosmic-Vortex). The British Clement Novalak (Tony Kart-Vortex) leader of the championship standings struck immediately back after his third position in Qualifying: he won two heats and gained the front row of the grid of the Prefinal A. Next to him started Karol Basz (KosmicVortex). The Spanish David Vidales (Tony Kart-Vortex), second behind Novalak in the qualifying standings, started from the pole position of the Prefinal B, with the Italian Lorenzo Travisanutto (Zanardi-Parilla) next to him. Sunday, Novalak was simply unbeatable both in the Pre-final A and then in the Final, where he gained an early lead ahead of Basz: the leading pair crossed the finishing line in this order. Vidales, who won Prefinal B, was third, followed by De Pauw (Kosmic-Parilla), Pourchaire and Hiltbrand (Tony Kart-Vortex).

Il norvegese Dennis Hauger (CRG-Parilla) inizia il suo weekend aggiudicandosi il miglior tempo in prova davanti al francese Theo Pourchaire (Kosmic-Vortex). Ma la risposta del britannico, leader di classifica, Clement Novalak (Tony Kart-Vortex) non si fa attendere: con due vittorie di manche è lui a conquistare la pole position della Prefinale A, dove trova, al suo fianco, il temibile polacco Karol Basz (Kosmic-Vortex). Lo spagnolo David Vidales (Tony Kart-Vortex), secondo alle spalle di Novalak nella graduatoria della manche, è invece in pole nella Prefinale B. Con lui, in prima fila, Lorenzo Travisanutto (Zanardi-Parilla). Domenica, però, Novalak risultata imbattibile, sia nella sua Prefinale, sia, poi, in Finale, dove scatta in testa seguito da Basz. MARSEGLIA ATTACKS T Harry Thompson (FA Kart-Vortex) set the best time in qualifying and beat into second position the current leader Andrea Rosso (Tony Kart-Vortex). In the heats, for Johnny Edgar (Exprit-TM) one success was more than enough to gain the pole in the Prefinal A. Second slot of the grid for Kas Haverkort (CRG-Parilla). Thompson, winner in 2 Heats but only 8° in the third, is the pole-sitter of the Prefinal B ahead of Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart-Vortex). The Final was characterised by the duel between Thompson (winner of Prefinal B, whereas Haverkort won perefinal A) and Leonardo Marseglia (ZanardiParilla), who controlled each other until the final showdown. Marseglia passed Thompson and the Brit counter-attacked with a manoeuvre that was punished with a 3-second penalty at the end of the race. The standings, which is still sub judice, sees Marseglia winner ahead of Mattia Michelotto (Zanardi-Parilla) and Thompson.

Thompson, vincitore di due gare ma solo ottavo nella terza, va in pole in Prefinale B, con accanto lo svedese Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart-Vortex). La Finale è caratterizzata dalla sfida tra Thompson (vincitore della Prefinale B, mentre Haverkort vince la Prefinale A) e Marseglia (ZanardiParilla), che si controllano a vicenda fino all’infuocato finale: l’italiano passa in testa, Thompson replica all’attacco ma con una manovra giudicata irregolare e punita, a fine gara, con 3” di penalità. La classifica, sub judice, vede Marseglia davanti a Michelotto (Zanardi-Parilla) e Thompson.

60 MINI REPORT
MINÌ WINS AFTER A GRE The Italian Andrea Antonelli (Tony Kart-Vortex) set the fastest lap of the Qualifying, ahead of the Italian Gabriele Minì (Parolin-TM). Saturday, Minì won three times, placed second once and achieved the pole position of the Prefinal A. Next to him, the Brazilain Rafael Camara (BirelArt-TM). Antonelli, thanks to his two victories, was in the first row of the Prefinal B with the Russian Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart-TM). Antonelli also won his Prefinal, whereas in Prefinal A Minì was second behind Michael Paparo (IPK-TM), who recovered 4 position. In the final Minì had to deal with a pack of six opponents, who kept on exchanging positions throughout the whole race. Excellent second position for Martinius Stenshorne (CRG-TM), who recovered 8 position and managed to finish ahead of Bedrin, Ugochukwu (Energy-Iame) and Paparo. Bad luck for Alfio Spina (CRG-TM), who lost the final first position for the misplacement of his front fairing.

Antonelli, vincitore di due manche, parte in pole in Prefinale B, vicino a lui il russo Nikita Bedrin (Tony KartTM). L’italiano della Tony Kart vince la propria Prefinale, mentre Minì, nella sua, è secondo dietro a un Michael Paparo (IPK-TM) in grado di vincere recuperando 4 posizioni. In Finale, Minì se la deve vedere con un gruppo di 6 avversari che continuano a scambiarsi le posizioni. Alla fine, l’italiano vince davanti all’ottimo norvegese Martinius Stenshorne (CRG-TM), risalito di 8 posizioni e bravo a precedere Bedrin, Ugochukwu (Energy-Iame) e Paparo. Sfortunato Alfio Spina (CRG-TM), a cui solo una penalità per il non corretto posizionamento del musetto toglie il primo posto.

NEW NAMES AT THE TOP 60 MINI As usual, the 60 Mini was the most uncertain class, with three drivers just 14 points apart. Paradoxically, Bedrin is in the lead, the only one of the top four not yet to have won a final. Spina, who was fourth, is not yet mathematically out of the game, but a comeback is a dream that appears to be very difficult to achieve. Come da tradizione, è la 60 Mini la classe più incerta, con tre piloti racchiusi in appena 14 punti. Guida Bedrin, paradossalmente, l’unico dei primi 4 a non aver ancora vinto una finale. Spina, quarto, matematicamente non è ancora tagliato fuori, ma la rimonta è un sogno che appare molto difficile da realizzare.

OKJ 250 Andrea Rosso is leading with a good margin, also benefited by the wide-open competition among his pursuers. In fact, Marseglia and Thompson 200 did really well in Muro Leccese. They leapfrogged Doohan and Bulantsev in the rankings. Moreover, it should be remembered that the ranking still 150 has to be confirmed because of Thompson’s appeal against his points deduction in round 3.

Difficile fare pronostici: i punti di distacco sono pochi, e quelli in palio tanti (153 per chi dovesse vincere manche, prefinale e finale). Più staccati, ma non ancora matematicamente esclusi, Iglesias e Ardigò.
