Parks unique museum By: Gerald Rillstone

With visitor numbers to Wainuiomata reserve increasing there is an added attraction to the area, a museum telling the story of the water catchment area. Ricky Clarkson, Park Ranger for Greater Wellington’s Wainuiomata and Orongorongo Regional Parks has been managing the area for the past six years and was instrumental in setting up the museum. He says recent figures show an increase in people visiting the area more than previous years and he is keen for people to know what a gem of a place it is if they venture a little further into the valley.
