His career is hanging in the balance and his future is under scrutiny from the General Medical Council following complaints about his irascible approach to patients. e second season of e Great American Recipe continues this month, blending camaraderie with competition as home cooks from around the country present family favorites passed down through generations along with internationally in uenced recipes that are becoming mainstays of American cuisine. And this season, one of the competitors is from our own back yard! Edison Park native and Western Springs resident Ted Pappas spoke with e Guide about his Greek culinary roots, favorite dishes to prepare, and how his experience on the show expanded his culinary horizons (see page 4).
